Who: Astralin and you! Where: Meadowlands, on his new farm. What: Astralin needs help setting up his new farm, anyone is welcome to help out. Warnings: None.
Prompts below! If you want to mingle, feel free to make your own prompts.
[There's been some chatter among the tavern that there's a new farm being built on the meadowlands and that the man that recently got the license for the farm needs help. If you inquire about it, one of the local contractors will pull you by the arm, and guide you over to the meadowlands, where there's several people on the farm already. Multiple people are scattered everywhere, but Astralin is no where to be seen upon first glance. However, one of the Aldrip locals will point out that houses, and a barn is going to be build on these lands.
Upon glancing further, there are also fences being build around the perimeter. You'll see Astralin leaning against one of the finished fences, with a water canteen in his hand. For once, he has his cloak off, and those who come closer to him will notice multiple scars on his arms. They look particularly painful, but they don't seem to bother him in the least.]
[He had been working on transferring some wood over to the house when he spots Vi from afar. Immediately feeling pretty bad that she's been dragged out here, and probably against her will. Which. He makes a note on, to ensure that Vi will get paid properly, or at least given a nice meal.]
That is correct. I owned a large farm back home, so I suppose I felt nostalgic and restless, and felt the need to make another one here.
[An acre of land was totally fine, but he does nod again.]
I do apologize if you were taken against your will, but I will ensure that you are paid, or at least given a nice meal. Have you ever built anything?
[Kaeya has, unsurprisingly, spent quite a bit of time at the tavern since arriving. Such places are good for keeping a pulse on the goings on within the community, and while news of a farm being built would fail to grab his attention back home, it's a different story here. He's yet to learn much about the people here, so who knows? Poking around on the farm might yield something juicy.
With that in mind, Kaeya makes his way down to the farm to offer his... assistance? Well, the jury is still out on whether or not he'll be any help, but he's here anyway, singling out Astralin and greeting him with a broad grin and a wave.]
Good day! You must be the farmer everyone at the tavern is buzzing about.
[There's been so many people coming to the farm, but he takes note of who leaves, and who comes in. Though, he's finally taking a break when Kaeya arrives on the farm, and he comes to realize that he seems a bit different from these Aldrip citizens. Was he a Chosen...? It's a thought that comes to mind, and he readjusts himself to regard this strange, but interesting man. There was something about him that was definitely familiar magic wise, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.]
Good day, Sir. Are you here to help with the farm?
[He seems friendly enough... Although Astralin can't help but give Kaeya a once over in curiosity. Needless to say, he liked the way this man dressed. Stylish, and... Cool.]
But yes, you have found me. Astralin Turnont, at your service.
[Eventually, Astralin moves from his spot from the fence, and power to newly potted flowerbeds that are scattered throughout the farm. He has a shovel in his hand, as well as previously potted flowers that he had in his inn room. The pots are particularly interesting upon first glance -- made of pure ice with intricate designs on the pot. It shines brightly in the light, but even in his grasp, and the sun shining down on the ice, the ice doesn't melt. Very particular.
Feel free to ask him about his special pots, because otherwise, he's just going to keep to himself and replant the flowers on the field. There was quite a lot of flowers to be replanted, and planted in general, with the Aldrip locals providing him seeds and the seeds that he managed to get from the naga. He also won't mind if you want planting tips, or if you want to help! The man does need help!]
[It's quite an undertaking, she thinks, to be working on a section of land. If it were up to her, Aerith would probably fill the whole thing with flowers, so maybe it's a good thing she doesn't have anything like that.
She is one of those who is very interested in the pots. She's never seen anything like them and though she's tempted to touch, these all look very special and particular. It would be more polite to look and not touch. At least right now.
Doesn't stop her from inviting herself right into Astralin's personal space.]
Hello! Whatcha doing?
[She knows the answer already. She just wants to make conversation before she tries to force her way in.]
[Aerith's presence is felt almost immediately, and his gaze shifts upward to meet her gaze. Upon meeting it, the corner of his lips curves into a genuinely happy smile to see her. After all, she had treated him so nicely upon their first meeting with one another. He had not forgotten her kindness, and his usual aloof attitude is replaced with a genuinely happy one to have her presence here.]
Ah, Lady Aerith. I am repotting these plants, and putting them into the soil. Although, I am not entirely sure what I will do with the vases, as I created them myself...
[He trails off, and genuinely opens up his space to her by taking a step forward, over the soil. Still keeping a mutual distance between the two, of course, but Aerith was now able to see the intricacies upon the pot. Patterns etched into the pot to give it a different look from the rest.]
I do hope those flowers made it to you in one piece.
[ At the far edge of the flowerbed, Marianne holds the reins of a horse and gently coaxes her away from the plants. After the frightening ordeal in the forest the other day, she's taken Willow out for a calming walk, to let the horse graze and spoil her a bit.
The glint of ice shimmering in the sunlight had caught her attention, and she'd led them over to take a closer look at the curious pots. Though it would seem her horse finds the flowers more delightful than the pottery. Seeing the man hard at work in the field, Marianne bows apologetically. ]
[Her voice gets him to look up from replanting his flowers, and he nearly jumps out of his skin upon seeing the new stranger in his garden. However, seeing that she has a horse is enough to put his mind at ease. A soft sigh of relief escaping from him rather silently as he straightens himself out in front of the stranger, and curves his lips into a pleasant, but light smile.]
Good day, Miss. It is no trouble at all... Here.
[He wasn't upset about the flowers. In fact, he had a soft spot for animals, and now had some of his own here. So, without hesitating, he reaches for his pocket, and offers up a large carrot to the horse. His other hand reaching out toward it's mane, and running his fingers through it in a calming, soft motion.]
Here you are, my dear. It is much more appetizing than a flower.
[Since the Kuranta people were primarily vegetable-eaters, seeing a farm like Astralin’s is something of a relief to Młynar. Most people around here seem to either favour fish or bread baked from the nearby mill’s wheat, meaning that he had to forage around to find something green around here. He didn’t particularly mind- he had spent years living off the land as a wanderer. Still, this made things easier.]
It seems that farming is in your blood. That didn’t take you very long at all.
[The knight has a bad habit of concealing his presence, so Astralin may not notice his arrival if he’s not paying attention. Hopefully it’s not too frightening. Młynar knows it terrified his nieces back in Kazimierz, since that sudden arrival often meant that harsh drills were about to begin.]
[Astralin had been potting the last of his plants before he decided to work on his vegetables. But the presence is a nice one, and he isn't as alarmed as the first time Mlynar met him. So surprisingly, he's greeted with a rather friendly smile in turn at his presence. His eyes trailing from the dirt, and over to the tall man to regard him with a genuine, light smile. His hand raising to wave his hand over at him with ease.]
No, it did not. Although, I am mostly at this point due to the kindness of Aldrip's citizens... They did most of the building, and allowed me to work on my flowers and vegetables. I believe I also have some livestock coming in as well, but I will not be eating any of those animals. I rarely eat meat to begin with.
[They definitely have something in common. Though, with that being said, he does drop what he's doing so he can actually have a conversation with Mlynar. Not hesitating to take a step forward, as he reaches for a fresh orange from one of his indoor plants. Happily offering it to Mlynar as a gift for visiting him on his farm.]
Please, do try one. They are very sweet when they are fresh.
[Ven definitely hears the chatter about a new farm on the outskirts of town. It peeks his interest, for sure. As if he really needed an excuse to get out of the city. He didn't mind humans, the tavern honestly reminded him of the meeting grounds in his home. The werewolf packs that visited definitely made a ruckus of similar regard as these drunk humans, making him all the more homesick.
But he needed to touch some grass.
It was a breath of fresh air walk down the paths out of the city, and it's easy enough to find his way to the budding farm. He can already sense the multitude of plants in the ground, and it makes him happy to see the tender care they seem to be receiving. He's taking it all in, when he spots one that seems to be sagging a bit. He crouches next to his, reaching out to it and pouring his magic out. The plant immediately started to perk up, even growing and blooming more than the others around it.
[Guests have been coming in and out of his farm, so he isn't too surprised when he sees someone unfamiliar approaching the farm. Hands on his shovel as he stares out from afar, watching this particular stranger with a curious look on his face. Head tilted to the side slightly, as he watches the plant that had been sagging a bit, come back to life at a simple touch. Similar to what he could do with his ice magic, but this was something different for sure.
Still, he was thankful that the stranger helped with his crop. It prompts him to reach for one of the fresh apples that he would happily offer to the stranger. Not hesitating to step forward to regard the stranger with a barely light, but still visible smile. The hand that had the apple in it, offered up with a gentle nudge.
From the looks of it, the apple looks to be perfectly fine, and in good shape. In fact, it looks like it'd be sweet, and crisp.]
Fascinating. I thought Sir Dohalim, and I were the only ones able to infuse magic into crop. I see that we are not the only ones now...
[ He still isn't entirely sure how he's found himself here, but given the invitation to see Astralin's techniques in person, Zhou Zishu is not going to turn that down. Equally unsure if they'll do anything for him personally, but it's worth a look. There's been an idea brewing in the back of his mind, sparked by the recent reminders that he used to enjoy this kind of thing.
Well. Not farming, probably. He'd make a terrible farmer. But the growing things...maybe.
He walks quietly out of habit, but he's not particularly trying to hide his presence as he makes his way towards the figure bent over the flowerbeds. When he comes to a stop, it's a respectful distances away, hands tucked into his long sleeves as he bows slightly. ]
[He had been tending to the crop when Zhou Zishu arrives at the farm. Quiet footsteps not quite getting his attention, but he is slightly alarmed at the new presence when shadows come into view. His eyes glancing at the shadows first, and then over to Zhou Zishu -- immediately recognizing him as the man over the phone that wanted to learn how to grow and cultivate plants.
In turn, he bows as well -- a fairly friendly smile appearing on his face when their gazes meet. His hands quickly taking off the gloves, and throwing them into his pocket so that he can start his short venture toward his new companion. Hand slowly extending out, waiting for him to shake his hand with that light, but friendly smile.]
Zhou Zishu. Welcome to my humble farm. It is a pleasure to be able to see you in person.
[Without hesitating, he motions him toward the soil, where he was just replanting some of the flowers he had been growing in his bedroom.]
[After a hard day's work on the fields, you might spot Astralin finally meeting with some Aldrip locals about his livestock. As promised for his unconditional help, the locals have gifted him with cows, chickens, pigs... What have you. They're all brought to the almost finished barn and chicken coop that you're currently helping out at.
This is where Astralin shines the most, as he has quite the affinity for animals. You can spot him standing right next to one of the cows to calm it down in it's new environment. Astralin giving extra care to the cow, who seems to relax at his calm words, and gentle touch. Quietly observing the cow for just a bit longer, before he lets it go on it's merry way.
This is the end of the day though, and he's quite exhausted at this point. You'll catch him relaxing by the chickens in the chicken coop -- hiding away from everyone to try and catch his breath.]
[Come for the animals, stay... for the animals... Well: Shinji has done some physical labor prior to his inevitable gravity pull towards the animals, like helping put up a fence or two, but now that things seem to be slowing down for the day, he's ready for animals. That and he wants to check on Astralin, see how his buddy is doing - so convenient that these two priorities are in the same place!!
So: here he comes, trying not to look too nervous around the larger animals. Marianne has already shown him how to be calm around horses, do cows work the same way... he hopes so.
But there's Astralin next to the little guys, so whew, cow crisis averted. Shinji is here to observe some chickens.]
There you are. [From one professional hider to another, hey, he has a sixth sense for avoiding-social-obligations spots.] It's looking good.
[Here she comes! It's been a busy day of pestering people around town, but she's finally made it by. She tends to get more exhausted in the evenings, but this is important. She has a paper bag in her arms, full of sweets she'd made earlier and a thermos of warm tea.]
There you are! I was looking all over for you!
[She'd absolutely bugged everybody within easy sight until she uncovered where he'd retreated off to. It's okay if he wants to be alone, but she has a delivery to make. At this point, SEES might as well be a sweets delivery service.]
[ Mizuki has spent most of the afternoon among the flowers; more specifically, a small little bed Astralin has helped her to start, planting the very seeds he'd given her. She doesn't know how long the bougainvillea will take to grow, but she doesn't expect to see any blooms or the accompanying thorns anytime soon, but at least the bouquet he gave along with the vase would give her something to look forward to.
After taking some time to also get to know the animals a little bit, she has something of an idea, so she goes looking for Astralin. ]
She finds him right around sunset, and he's too busy playing with the chickens to see it. Oh well. ]
[The thing is, Alphen isn't exactly a farm person -- not as much as someone like Law, at least. He was in the area, though: with the increased number of zeugles monsters in recent days, he figured someone should try to keep an eye on things. Might as well be someone with a hard head and plenty of fighting experience, right? So he was just passing through.
That's when the chicken crosses the road.
It's not the sort of thing you expect to see, is it? A chicken. Crossing the road. Alphen watches it a moment and then curiously follows. When he remembers the farm nearby, he thinks better of letting the chicken wander farther away and instead rushes to catch up to it.
TL;DR, that's how Alphen ends up wandering toward the chicken coop with a clucking hen under one arm. Astralin is not hard to spot, and when he does, Alphen offers a wave and a smile.]
You don't happen to be missing one of your numbers, do you? I was wondering if this little guy might be an escapee.
[Girl, but he's got the spirit. Unfortunately he's not witty enough to say flown the coop, but I was contractually obligated to add it somewhere.]
[It wasn't unusual for people to come onto the farm. It was quickly being built, but most of it was finished. So, he isn't surprised when he sees someone unfamiliar in the chicken coop. Eyebrow raised as he takes a step forward, and unconsciously reaches for his scythe. Not that he thought this person was dangerous, but he couldn't be too sure with how late in the night it was starting to get. His eyes staring down at the young woman warily, but he didn't seem dangerous. More on guard, than anything.]
May I help you?
[His hand is still on his scythe, but unless she attacks him unprovoked, it doesn't seem like he's actually going to pull it out on her. Again, just a thing of caution, as one of the chickens immediately recognizes Astralin as it's mother, and walks past Lapis to meet Astralin. The man kneeling down to the chicken, gently holding it in his arms as the chickens don't seem to be alarmed at Lapis' sudden appearance or her demeanor, which is already a good sign for him that she didn't come here for nefarious reasons.]
[Guests were starting to become a thing here, but this particular guest certainly got his attention. He had run into the man earlier in the week, and it isn't particularly surprising that he ended up on the farm. Astralin himself having been working the farms when Will stumbled upon his lands. Not that he minded, of course -- Astralin had become a bit friendlier with strangers since they were all here for a reason: their crimes.
So, when Will stumbles upon the farm, he stops hoeing the soil underneath him, and places the hoe elsewhere so he can regard the stranger in front of him with a light, but certainly visible smile on his face. Not hesitating to wave his hand as he throws off his gloves, and wipes off the grit from his skin. Faintly wondering if Will wanted a cup of tea or coffee, now that he had these things in the house.]
Good afternoon, Sir Will. May I interest you in a cup of coffee or tea? Or perhaps some fruit from the gardens?
[Astralin had been working the fields today as construction continued around him. Guests and construction workers had been coming in and out of the farm, which was fine. He didn't mind at all, considering Aldrip citizens, and some of the chosen who were dragged here by their own will, or offered to help were well. Helping him out. It made things easy, even if he didn't like having a considerable amount of attention on him. It made him rather nervous after all.
Though, there was one particular guest that stood out to him. The young person that he had helped earlier when they were bleeding out the first time that he had meet them.
It's... Hard not to worry when they should be resting after their ordeal. Still, he presses the shovel into the ground of dirt underneath him so that he can regard his new guest. Quickly taking off his gloves, and throwing them into his pocket for the time being. Just as quickly walking forward now, as he greets Lion with a simple hand wave. Not yet realizing that a grazing cow is following right behind him to greet Lion in turn.]

Lion
Though, there was one particular guest that stood out to him. The young person that he had helped earlier when they were bleeding out the first time that he had meet them.
It's... Hard not to worry when they should be resting after their ordeal. Still, he presses the shovel into the ground of dirt underneath him so that he can regard his new guest. Quickly taking off his gloves, and throwing them into his pocket for the time being. Just as quickly walking forward now, as he greets Lion with a simple hand wave. Not yet realizing that a grazing cow is following right behind him to greet Lion in turn.]
Good afternoon, Lion. May I help you?
