Who: Astralin and you! Where: Meadowlands, on his new farm. What: Astralin needs help setting up his new farm, anyone is welcome to help out. Warnings: None.
Prompts below! If you want to mingle, feel free to make your own prompts.
[ There was a time when Mizuki would've liked nothing more than just to surround herself with animals. The ones that are kind, cute, mind their own business and aren't able to speak and make her feel lesser.
After a pause, she reaches her hand out slowly to try and stroke at the feathers of a chicken that's closest to her. Doesn't feel right to treat them like they're some dog or cat, but what else does she have to go on? ]
A little bit of both, I guess. Actually... I was wondering if you'd have room for two more little guys on your farm.
[All the chickens that the people of Aldrip seem to be rather relaxed, and he's grateful that they are. He fully intends to not eat these chickens, and simply use them for eggs. So he's fully glad that they are reacting to Mizuki quite nicely. A soft laugh escaping from his lips when the chicken readjusts itself and sits atop of the nest that it's made in the barn already.]
An acre is quite large, so I do not mind taking in more animals so they are safe. What animals did you have in mind?
[On cue, there's a cat that walks by Mizuki, and nuzzles her ankles. The cat meowing softly as it walks past Mizuki, and makes it way toward the chickens, so that it has a nice resting place for the night.]
The people of Aldrip have provided me quite a bit of food for these animals, but I do owe them in turn. I do not mind though, they have been kind to me thus far.
Oh, no worries! Just because the construction is done, doesn't mean I won't still come by and help out. [ Still a lot of heavy lifting to be done, and it's probably more fulfilling than all the other things she's done here for hte locals. ]
I'll owe you one anyway, if you say yes. They're... two piglets. Their parents died, and I've been caring for them in this little cave I found, but... I think they'd like it here.
[ They'd be safe (from Him), like he said. She also wouldn't have to spend 20-30 minutes walking around looking for them every day. ]
You are far too kind, Mizuki. I thank you for your help.
[She was kind in her own right, and he makes a mental note to help her out with what she needed help with. After all, she seemed... Troubled, and he wanted to try and help alleviate that as best as he could. Typical Dad behavior and all that.]
Ah... Of course. In fact, there are a couple of pigs here that came with piglets, so I am sure that those pigs will treat them well. Mother pigs are very nurturing after all.
[There's a genuine smile of happiness that appears on his face at the mention of any animal. He truly enjoyed their company, and full glad was he that Mizuki entrusted him with this task. Even if it was an every day thing with him.]
Do bring them into the pigsty when you are able to. Do you need help going out and finding them?
[ She smiles, though it wavers in the last moments. While the two boar piglets would undoubtedly like it better here, she does have to wonder if she should be dragging Astralin into all this. It might paint a target on his whole farm that he (and she) put a lot of work into.
She's not going to let him keep letting Saito ruin her life, though she may give Astralin a warning once the pigs are actually here. For today... Well, she's human and tired. ]
No, I've got them. Tomorrow, though. After today, I'm gonna need a long shower.
[Whatever problems she may hold, he certainly doesn't have any issue. The man is a prodigy with magic, so a psychopath is likely not going to scare him off. But, that is for them to worry about later, as he is also exhausted now. His muscles are sore and tired, and he can't help but sit at the nearby haystack that one of the cows just happen to be munching on now.]
Certainly. Any time is fine by me. If you need any assistance bringing them here, do not hesitate to ask.
[Oh, that reminds him...]
Ah, I forgot to mention. The shed for your bike is near my estate. Feel free to bring it there whenever you like. This whole farm will be protected, so you need not worry.
[ With him sitting comfortably among the chickens like this, she almost forgets how tall he is. Still, she'd rather not bother him on something she can do on her own. She stretches her arms, taking a seat next to him and also stretches her legs as well as soon as she feels her weight plop down against the ground.
Yup, definitely a long shower in her future. ]
Thanks.
[ She's been neglecting her bike lately, and it may not be as reliable as transportation as she'd like, but she still wants to take care of it. ]
Are you happy with how things turned out? [ Their work on the farm. So far. ]
[It seems like the animals are surrounding them now, and one of the cows slowly approach Mizuki and her braids. It's head nuzzling Mizuki's cheek, which prompts a soft laugh to escape from him upon seeing such a sight. Full glad that it doesn't seem to mistake Mizuki's hair for being hay or something.]
I am. The citizens of Aldrip have been particularly kind in this regard... They have followed the exact details of what I wanted, and everything has come to fruition.
[He feels at ease, but definitely very tired. Enough to where he's actually able to relax around Mizuki, as he presses his back against the wall behind them.]
I thank you for helping as well, Mizuki. You know that you are free to use the farm as you wish. If there are any problems that arise, I will be here as well.
[ Nothing broke that was important, and nothing went wrong that couldn't be fixed. Perhaps their gods were smiling upon him from somewhere after all, if only she believed in such a thing. She leans back, giving him another nod.
There are only so many times she can say thank you. ]
I've never worked on a farm before, so I'm counting on you to show me the ropes. 'Kay?
That is not a problem. As long as you are a willing student, then you will learn the ropes rather quickly.
[With that being said, they both must be exhausted at this point, and hungry. The least he could do was at least give her a meal. His house must be incomplete, so he wouldn't be able to cook, but hey. At least he could treat her to something nice, for all the hard labor she's put in.
The fact that she was, well. Crazy strong was a helpful, and good trait to keep in mind.]
I believe the barn animals will be alright if we go back into town to get something to eat. But perhaps... We should make a short stop to our inn rooms to shower, before we do anything else.
[ At the mention of barn animals, Mizuki finds herself looking at the chickens around them. She briefly has to wonder if it's stupid of her to decide to help out at this farm while being an unapologetic meat enjoyer, but she decides it's best if she doesn't think too hard about it.
If Astralin won't judge her for it, then this high-energy sort of job should be good for her, when she's not hunting monsters and the like.
It takes some effort, but she stretches and struggles to her feet. ]

Sure thing.
