Who: Astralin and you! Where: Meadowlands, on his new farm. What: Astralin needs help setting up his new farm, anyone is welcome to help out. Warnings: None.
Prompts below! If you want to mingle, feel free to make your own prompts.
I would greatly appreciate any help I can get, Ven. Especially with a power like yours... It would truly help people to not starve in this world. And while... I am not particularly fond of being accused of a crime I did not commit, it is not the citizens of Expiation's fault. I would not want them, or any of the Chosen to starve.
[You know, he doesn't. Do well with compliments, and his cheeks actually light up crimson for a moment. His finger scratching at his head sheepishly, while the other coughs into his hand. It was a bit embarrassing, to receive those sort of compliments, but he wasn't going to turn it down.]
Thank you... I try my best. But ah... Out of curiosity, are you not human as well?
[His powers were definitely different from what he figured a human would do. And to show solidarity that he wasn't human as well, he brushes back some of his hair, to reveal his pointy, but visible ears.]
No, I agree wholeheartedly. Those Chosen or otherwise don't deserve to starve. It seems the locals are more than kind with sharing their resources. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that cares to give back in some sort of way.
[It's refreshing, to see other likeminded people. So far, these "criminals" have all been such good people. While he himself is guilty, he likes to think he's guilty for doing the right thing.
As for the nonhuman question, Ven finds it interesting for sure to see Astralin's pointed ears. While he's been careful about sharing his own powers, he doesn't want to be rude and hide it when Astralin is sharing his so openly.
But Ven's is a big more drastic. It's all glimmer that makes him look so human, but when he lets that magic drop, his skin starts to turn green. His features turn more sharp, including his ears, but the most significant change is his hair. Fern-like leaves replaced his dirty-blonde locks. Through the fern-like leaves were clusters of small, white flowers. Anyone with a sharp eye for plant identification would recognize it quickly for what it is: hemlock.]
[Astralin has no shame in admitting he wasn't human -- no one was after him, and trying to take his powers in this world and all. Still, he knows that admitting such things may prove to be difficult for other people, so he's pleasantly surprised to see Ven drop his facade, even if it's momentary. Eyes catching that transformation, and silently noting his new features.
Hemlock indeed.
Astralin doesn't make a changing expression, and in fact, the man leaves a ghost of a smile behind. His eyes giving Ven a once over, but not much more than that. If he was masquerading as a human, then he certainly had some reasons he didn't want to reveal his form. So he didn't want him to stay like that for too long, even if it was interesting.]
How fascinating... A beautiful form, really. Our tyrant stealing other's powers would enjoy stealing your form, I must say.
But ah... Is there a reason you're masquerading as a human?
Tyrant? [This is the first Ven's heard of a tyrant. Is it something from Astralin's world or happening here? If it's his home, then... It leaves Ven unsettled that it's another person with powers, being hunted. Why is this a trend across so many worlds? It bothers him, deeply.
But given he's in a safe space, with someone of equal talent, he doesn't summon the magic back, allowing his natural self out for the time being.]
It's...complicated. Habit, mostly? Since I was a child, my people have been hunted by humanity. It's easier to stay alive if we blend in. We only show our true selves in the safety of our homes. Our safe cities. I know now this place isn't like my kingdom, that I wouldn't be hunted, but it's seemed easier just to continue to blend in, to not set myself apart too much, lest I frighten someone. [Or draw too much attention to himself. Given his telepathy, he really trying to keep a low profile, and keep that power to himself. Just in case.]
