Who: Astralin and you! Where: Meadowlands, on his new farm. What: Astralin needs help setting up his new farm, anyone is welcome to help out. Warnings: None.
Prompts below! If you want to mingle, feel free to make your own prompts.
[Astralin had been potting the last of his plants before he decided to work on his vegetables. But the presence is a nice one, and he isn't as alarmed as the first time Mlynar met him. So surprisingly, he's greeted with a rather friendly smile in turn at his presence. His eyes trailing from the dirt, and over to the tall man to regard him with a genuine, light smile. His hand raising to wave his hand over at him with ease.]
No, it did not. Although, I am mostly at this point due to the kindness of Aldrip's citizens... They did most of the building, and allowed me to work on my flowers and vegetables. I believe I also have some livestock coming in as well, but I will not be eating any of those animals. I rarely eat meat to begin with.
[They definitely have something in common. Though, with that being said, he does drop what he's doing so he can actually have a conversation with Mlynar. Not hesitating to take a step forward, as he reaches for a fresh orange from one of his indoor plants. Happily offering it to Mlynar as a gift for visiting him on his farm.]
Please, do try one. They are very sweet when they are fresh.
[The Kuranta man takes the orange, wordlessly peeling it before taking a quick bite. Fruits like these were rare, given that Kazimierz was located in the cold north. Still, he had indulged in the rare import back home- and he finds himself just as delighted this time. A silent smile spreads across the knight’s expression as he savours the citrus flavour.]
Back in Kazimierz, you’ll usually only find rich corporate types enjoying these. You spoil me, Astralin.
[Looks like Astralin is humble and polite as ever. It’s refreshing- albeit unfamiliar. Most of his companions back on Terra had very forceful personalities. Mlynar would usually consider this kind of behaviour to be suspicious flattery, but he knew the man well enough to put aside such thoughts.]
It’s quite impressive. Though I confess I know little of farming. When I wandered the land, I once vaporized some rocks to help a farmer set up a new field, but that's about the sum of it.
[Though it was one hell of a sight for the locals. Seeing boulders reduced to nothing by pillars of radiant light was a blessing in the time it saved, and something approaching a miracle for those present.]
[There is plenty of more fruit where that came from, to be honest. He had quite an abundance of fruits that he managed to grow inside of that small inn room for so long, that he could likely make the man as basket to take home with him. It's an idea that creeps into the back of his mind, especially with Mlynar speaks of his world. Happy to learn bits and pieces of his world through small details. Which, quite honestly, doesn't sound like a pleasant place to be.]
Is that so? Well, do stay for awhile so I can provide more fruits for you, Sir Mlynar.
[With not much effort, he extends his hand out and mutters something underneath his breath. A bright light quickly shining on top of his hand, before something begins to form at the palm. Ice weaving intricately into a basket, that Astralin brings close to him. The man kneeling down to some of the fruit trees that were waiting to be picked.]
Ah? Is that so? Then perhaps I could call on you for help, should the need arise. Which may be soon, if some of these rocks are hard to move.
[Mlynar actually gets a sincere chuckle out of Astralin. The man lost in thought, as his lips curve into a gentle, light smile. Always finding himself at peace when picking his fruit, or flowers.]
You mentioned rich corporate types only having fruit... Is it hard to come by in your world?
[Astralin’s words fills Młynar’s heart with a sense of warm nostalgia. The Ori man reminds him of the farmers that had taken him in during his wandering days. They had piled kindness after kindness upon him, despite repeated reassurances that he needed no such things.]
I’m unaccustomed to staying in one place for long. But I suppose I can make an exception for someone who has been so good to me. Besides, I’ve decided that I am fond of your oranges.
[Młynar is about to follow the comment with a laugh, but is given pause by the sight of Astralin using magic without a focus. Back where in the world of Terra, the only people who could do that were afflicted with a terrible disease called oripathy, which slowly turns its victims' bodies into crystal. It catches him off guard, and the knight has to visibly collect himself, taking a deep breath and reminding himself that things are different here.]
As for the fruit, it is rare where I come from. There are tropical nations where you’ll find fruits, but my homeland of Kazimierz has rather cold and inhospitable winters that make growing fruits difficult. We have apple, blueberry, and raspberry farms, but most others are imported from abroad.
[The Kuranta man hopes that his response seemed professional and natural enough to not rouse any suspicions about his internal panic. Still, he had never been the best at keeping a poker face. His twitching ears and swishing tail often gave him away.]
