Who: Astralin and you! Where: Meadowlands, on his new farm. What: Astralin needs help setting up his new farm, anyone is welcome to help out. Warnings: None.
Prompts below! If you want to mingle, feel free to make your own prompts.
[Astralin takes a step back once he shakes his hand, and he slips his gardening gloves back on. Never one to stop working, even when there were guests on the farm, like right now. Going back to particularly beautiful flower, that he doesn't hesitate to water with the watering can beside him. The other one reaching for it with his free hand; his hand glowing momentarily as he embeds the flower with his ice magic.]
Yes, of course. It is nothing too hard, really. I take care of the farm back at home as well, so this is just my normal work.
[He stands up once more, and turns his gaze over to Zhou Zishu, wondering what kind of background this man had. He looked... Regal? In a way? But he wasn't sure. Maybe some sort of noble? He wasn't going to pry.]
[ His attention laser focuses in the moment Astralin's hand starts glowing, but it's hard to tell exactly what's happening. Astralin seems to consider it nothing out of the ordinary, at least, and Zhou Zishu just continues to watch him as he moves.
It's nothing too hard, he says. Zhou Zishu's expression can't help but tinge decidedly dry as he tips his head back to keep eye contact with the man as he stands. ]
I...used to help care for herb gardens, for a while. [ Gardens may not be quite the right word, but it will do for the moment. A little piece of home hoping to be transplanted? Just something to do? Why not both. ] I suppose I wondered if it was something that could be recreated.
Herb gardens? Those are particularly fun to care for.
[There were many herbs that he could grow here. The environment made it easy for him to care for a lot of things in the garden, and Zhou Zishu mentioning it makes him want to actually grow herbs again. It wasn't too difficult, and he gives a reassuring smile to the man in front of him. His eyes scanning around the area, and pointing at an empty bed of soil from afar.]
I do not see why not. We can use that empty bed over there to plant some herbs, and ask the people of Aldrip for supplies.
[ There's brief pause before he blinks once, somewhat visibly taken aback by the sudden offer. ]
You would let me plant on your land?
[ His tone is somewhere between surprised and skeptical. There has to be a catch here somewhere. No one just offers things freely. At least in Zhou Zishu's experience, which he can admit is just a tad biased. ]
I have an acre of land. That is more than enough to share, it is not? Besides, if there is space for those who want to use the land... I do not see why not. I am not the selfish type.
[He raises an eyebrow, unsure as to why he would want something in return. He's never been one to be like that, but he does understand that he is much more relaxed than he should be. Still, he merely shakes his head, and eyes the empty garden bed that was waiting to be taken up by these herbs.]
Nothing in return. You are free to use my tools if you please. Though I am curious as to what herbs you want to grow.
[ That still doesn't sound quite right, but Zhou Zishu won't argue the point. If a price comes later, he'll deal with it then.
Instead he studies Astralin for a moment before climbing to his feet to dust off his hands. ]
It will depend somewhat on what I can find that seems familiar to me. I'll be wary of what I can make with them, for a while. [ Generally best to make poisons on purpose, rather than by accident. ] I'm sure someone must have some sort of book on what can be found in this place.
