[Do you like his Vision, Astralin? When their eyes next meet, Kaeya flashes him a knowing smile, his curiosity piqued. Those with an affinity for magic thus far have managed to pick up on the fact that the item at his hip has magical properties of its own, coming as little surprise to Kaeya.

Following Astralin around the farm, those flowers do catch his attention, as does the light surrounding them. Ice crystals... Those would certainly explain Astralin's fascination with the Vision at his hip. Hunching down, Kaeya inspects them closely.]

Special, you say? I've certainly never seen flowers infused with Cryo magic such as these.

[Ice? Cryo? Same thing. Still... He doesn't see a Vision anywhere on Astralin's person, so Kaeya's willing to bet some other source of magic is at play here.]

[Ah, that certainly answers one question: this man may control the same element as himself, but he isn't from Teyvat. Astralin is quite astute regardless, and Kaeya meets his question with a smile and a nod, straightening up to gesture to the Vision hanging from his belt.]

You've guessed right! This is what we refer to as a Vision where I hail from. As you might have guessed, mine allows me to control the element of Cryo— ice, in other words. But while we share an element in common, I don't believe I can achieve what you've managed to do here.

[He's careful not to say what it is he's actually capable of doing with his Vision, but needless to say, their respective magics are versatile in their own unique ways.]

And I suppose you must have an innate talent for using magic, no? I don't see anything like a Vision on your person.

[Talented... Astralin's compliment is far too generous, but Kaeya isn't going to draw attention to the matter by disagreeing. His Vision is merely a "gift" from the gods, but a prodigy like Astralin has surely worked hard to gain such fine control over his magic. Much as he would love to see which of them would come out on top in battle, he'll keep that thought to himself for now.]

They do say practice makes perfect. Still, it surprises me to see you employing such skill in the field. Is botany a specialty of yours?

[Kaeya can think of plenty who would kill to have powers like Astralin's on the battlefield. Those who put their powers to use for purely non-lethal pursuits are few in number... but does Astralin count himself among them?]

[...What remarkable skill. Even those skilled in the utilization of Cryo would struggle to replicate a person's visage in such exacting detail. Kaeya marvels at it, hands on his knees when he hunches down to examine it closely. No detail out of place, it seems, and his eyes shoot up to meet Astralin's with a broad grin.]

I'm afraid our definitions of impressive are entirely different. On the contrary, your talent is obvious at a glance. Very impressive, Astralin.

[Very impressive. On the mental list of notes he's maintained on the people of Aldrip, he places Astralin towards the top.]

I'll be keeping your offer in mind. I may not be of much assistance on the creative front, but should you ever find yourself in a bind on the battlefield, feel free to seek me out. Then again... that scythe of yours looks plenty imposing on its own.

I might've heard that a time or two.

[Kaeya's chuckles are mirthful, jovial, but he should mind his silver tongue around a married man, shouldn't he? Then again, he'd rather trust that Astralin understands these compliments are coming from a good place and that Kaeya doesn't expect anything in return for stating what he believes is the honest truth. Sure, he might be inclined to embellish the truth just a bit... but regardless, he means well. Astralin has yet to give him a reason to lie.

...Well, he hadn't given Kaeya much reason to lie until now. His vocation has little importance in this land, but a man with eyes as sharp as Astralin's might easily see through him if he tells too outlandish of a story. Tipping his chin skyward, Kaeya hums.]

I know my way around a blade. Where I'm from, it never hurts to know how to defend yourself.

[That answers Astralin's question, doesn't it? Sure, Kaeya wasn't exactly forthright, but he's counting on Astralin not calling him out on answering so vaguely.]

You see... You claim to be a mere farmer, so in that sense, I suppose I'm merely a swordsman. I've seen my fair share of combat, but only out of necessity. We're quite the same in that regard, wouldn't you say?
