[Just like her, there's a smile from ear to ear, ever the playful one when he could trust the person in front of him. Aerith certainly made it very easy to trust her the moment that he met her, and it helped that there were certain things about her that reminded him of Hrist. However, Aerith was still her own, special person, and she certainly had a charm about her that Astralin could easily befriend and not feel nervous around her.]
Hm... The forest was very particular, was it not? I also heard things when I was with Miss Kotone, but I thought it may be just a whisper of the wind, or perhaps. Well. I suppose chalk it up to forest noises, but there is something strange about that place.
[There's a moment of silence between the two, and he nods in agreement. There was definitely something in there that they shouldn't know about, and quite frankly, he has a cold chill thinking about that forest again. Nothing truly scared him, but there was that eerie feeling in the back of his mind the entire time.]
Quite the eerie place, to be quite frank with you. None the less, we are no longer in there. I do hope there are no lasting effects on you from that place.
[The more she hears about others experiencing similar things to her, the more uneasy it leaves her. Less a personal concern and more likely to be something greater. One or two people is coincidence. Anything more than that must mean something more. What that 'something more' is, however, is beyond her right now.
They'll have to figure it out at some point.]
I hope the same for you too. And everyone else who was travelling through it. I'm not saying we shouldn't worry about it, but things could definitely be worse. Honestly, I'm just happy to see a friendly and familiar face. I feel like I can face anything if you guys are here with me.

[Oh. Those are some sweet words. There's an unconscious smile that appears on his face as she speaks. He has to admit, that there's some part of him that didn't think he'd grow close to those here, but there were some particular people that changed that for him. Certainly less reserved than he was when he first arrived here, he felt like he could trust people. And that was enough, for now.]
I am happy to hear that. I must admit, I have a distrust for those around me, but there are those that have changed that for me. You are one of them.

If I can protect you from harm, then I will. Although, young lady, I am certain that you are more than capable of handling things yourself.
Some would say that it's healthy and wise to have a little distrust for those they don't know very well. Considering the situation, it would be silly to expect you or anyone else not to feel that way. Just because we're in the same situation doesn't mean that we all view it the same way.
[To some people, this is a prison. To others, it's liberating. There's also the multiple shades of grey in between. Nothing is ever simple or straight forward. People, their feelings, their thoughts, those are quite the same. Aerith can't imagine ever expecting Astralin to think or feel any differently that is his personal truth. That's what makes it his, after all. And it's also what makes it so special and unique.]
I don't like to brag, but I'm pretty good in a fight when I have to be?
[Playfully, she flexes, though she's a small girl and there's not much impressive about her from a physical standpoint. Although some would say, and surely have before, that strength is not just physical. There's no doubt that she's incredibly resilient. Not unlike the flowers blooming in Midgar, otherwise, where so few do.]
I hope that you'll let me protect you too, Astralin. I think that's the way friends should be.
