What: Teenagers with abilities or maybe no real abilities hanging out on the rooftop and eating food. Talking. Doing club stuff.
Warnings: Probably none.


[Maybe you're already part of TWAT club and read the message that Scott sent out to everyone, basically stating that they're having a meeting and it's definitely required for you to come and hang out and meet new members. Or you saw one of the flyers around town that mentioned about having a meeting and that newbies are welcome to stop by. Either way, the meeting is held at the rooftop of the club building, so just come. No food or anything required. He's a good leader like that, yeah. Definitely.]

[Why do you keep coming early!!

Well, anyone that is one of those people that likes coming early to events, Scott's putting you to work. Yep, immediately volunteered. Maybe it's just helping to get the food out on the tables, or bringing chairs or tables up to the rooftop. Either way, work needs to be done and setup is still in progress, so pair up with other TWAT members or whatever to get things ready. Thanks, Scott appreciates it. Probably. At this point, he might be relying on people to show up early to help...

Also, if you have your own food or brought a game of some sort, that's cool. He definitely isn't going to say no. Go set that up.]

[Once the meeting starts and after Scott gives a relatively decent speech about welcoming new people to TWAT Club and to have fun, people are more than welcome to dig into the spread laid out on the tables. There's the usual fanfare like chips and dip, cookies, and pizza, but there's also fruit sandwiches that Scott and Kotone made together. There's a vegetable plate as well, but with an added note that says 'for you healthy nerds,' although that note mysteriously disappears after a while (with Kotone shoving a carrot stick in Scott's mouth).

Since this is a place filled with teenagers and abilities... Scott probably has encouraged people to show off their powers a little. JUST DON'T BLOW SOMETHING UP it's okay, he's talking about himself too. Of course, he's not forcing anyone to show off their powers and everything, but he sort of hopes people are feeling more comfortable to do so. That is the purpose of his club and everything, along with an underlying encouragement to help others with their powers if applicable.

There's also music being played! Thanks to Kotone's MP3 player, a mix of electronica and J-Pop from the mid-to-late 2000s is playing from a stereo, so hopefully that's your jam. It will be your jam, because those are the only songs playing. You're welcome to dance as well, Scott definitely is... in his own way:

[Feel like being a nice person and want to help clean up? Nice. Scott isn't forcing anyone to stay after, but he appreciates the assistance (and maybe even expects it at this point). It's mostly just taking tables down and clearing out the trash. Anyone that stays can probably take home some of the leftovers. So, that's a nice bonus.

Or maybe you just want to sit on the ground and enjoy the evening a little. He's not judging. There's a nice little sunset settling in and you have the rooftop to enjoy it. Grab one of your new found friends and watch it together.]

[Fauna's... well, a little awkward here. She showed up because Scott invited her. So she's pretty sure she's welcome.... but she's still a little nervous. She's spending most of her time hanging around the edges, looking ready to bolt if someone comes for her looking hostile.

But as should be obvious by now, there's one thing that's grabbing her attention. And that's the food table. She is, as per usual, shoving food into her face like she's afraid it'll vanish if she takes too long. Pizza, sandwiches, anything she can grab.

But if anyone else is around, and doesn't seem too hostile to her, she might speak her mind:]

This club really needs a better name. Even their "ex-men" thing is better than that.

[Fauna's been looking around, watching people show off their powers. And as she does, something's eating at her. Something she has to protest. Scott shoots eye lasers. Some of these others have... guns they point at their heads... to summon things. God, that's still so fucked up. But still, there's so many powers, and they all have one thing in common:]

Why are you all so boring with your powers? Where's your style?

[She folds her arms, looking judgmental at whoever's showing off right now...]

[Look. At this point, she's putting her money where her mouth is. She demonstrated her own transformation, complete with pose and transformation call. What this means is that now, as people are showing off their powers... there is now an armored superhero dressed like an onmyoji watching. She's offering advice...]

... Come on. You gotta pose.

[Despite the somewhat complicated feelings he has towards Fauna still, Scott is honestly glad to see her here. He hasn't kept track on the stuff she's gotten involved in, but he thinks that she's having a decent amount of fun at least. Maybe even made a few friends. At least she's comfortable enough to show off her own powers, so that's a plus.

...Even though she's doing some ridiculous poses while transformed.

Okay, what even is that?? Scott's arms are folded as he raises an eyebrow at her, wanting to get to the bottom of this particular thing.]

Pose? [He sounds so dubious.] For what exactly?

[Okay, no, there actually is more to it than that, but in her mind, that's the big one.]

[Compared to the rest of the people here, Yukina's powers weren't that impressive. With her healing abilities and ice powers, she just seemed so mundane. However, she wasn't complaining when she was just happy to meet other people.

That said, as she looked at Fauna, she couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at the person who was showing off their powers.]

...I think their powers are impressive. It seems better than physical strength.

[It was kinda sad really. The X.R.C had been so busy with serious things like saving the world that they'd not really managed to be creative with their powers. It'd always been, get in, deal with the monsters, don't die.

Even here Sora had stuck with the basics. Combining her Soul Device's wind and electricity with her martial arts. But she tended to just brute force it, 'no bullshit' as Kou had put it.

Maybe there was other things she could do, she'd not just realised it.

So she stood nearby and just... mimicked the fox lady. Summoning her Soul Device in a burst of light on the final pose.

Then she tilted her head to Fauna and just gave a closed-eye smile. Did she do good?? Did she?]

[ Koharu isn't what anyone could call a social butterfly, but she isn't wallflowering, at least. She'll say hello if approached, but otherwise, is spending most of the time observing from a respectful distance, though she does eventually hover around the food table. She picks out a fruit sandwich—a nice reminder of home—and from there, well...

She goes back to observing, and can't help but notice one thing. ]

... This is a lot of older music, huh...

[ If there's anyone who's putting on a display of their particular talents, there's a good chance Koharu is around somewhere watching. As someone from a (mostly) normal world, she's fascinated that some humans are capable of performing magic, or... whatever it is they may call it.

So, should anyone do anything even a little out of the ordinary, Koharu looks on with an almost childish awe. ]

[After letting those bright red beams expel out into the sky for a few seconds longer, Scott shuts his eyes before replacing those ever present sunglasses back on. He's really gotten far about accepting his powers, whether or not he can fully control them, so there's something light and easy about the mutant as he smiles at Koharu. She's definitely new to him, but he's glad to see new members, something almost cocky in his demeanor as he leans one hand against his hip.]

Optic blasts. Pure concussive force.

[Does he explain the whole X-Gene and mutant bit? Yeah, he will, in just a second.] Cool, right?

[Just like Koharu, Yukina was minding her own business. This was quite nice as she was simply happy finding people to meet up. While she already knew that her powers were rather mundane compared to others, she just hoped that her healing abilities would be impressive enough for some people.

That said, just as she was about to sit down, she heard someone spoke up.]

...Is it? It seems rather new to me.

[A - Food and Hanging Out]

[For the moment, Tsuna is content to watch the dancing from the sidelines with a plate of food. Dancing is not something that Tsuna has ever been particularly good at, but that's just one more thing on the list really (And there's a good chance of your foot being stepped on if he does, to say nothing of any other chaos on the dance floor). He's here more for the music. It's nice to hear stuff from home, even if he doesn't recognize all of it.]

Where did you think they even found this? The music I mean.

[B - Power Demonstration]

[Tsuna doesn't typically show off his power. It's not really designed for that. And it is a reminder of the legacy that he's inherited, in all its bloody glory. But he still does, in the spirit of the club.

There's a flash, and the ring on his finger has transformed into a pair of Red gloves. There is also a bright orange flame burning in the center of Tsuna's forehead, and his eyes have taken on more of a soft orange glow, as opposed to his usual brown.]

It's, uh, called Hyper Dying Will Mode. The flames are Dying Will flames.

[C - Clean up]

[Tsuna usually sticks around to help with clean up. Or at least, makes an effort to. He's easily distracted by the sunset and his usual sway towards laziness. But he's doing his best to pick up left over plates and dragging a large garbage bag behind him.]

Wow, we kind of leave a mess, huh?

I guess I don't know what would be normal for, um, normal people. But I don't think its that bad.

[kakashi never seems to want to show off any of his powers at these events. though tonight, with some goading from various watchers, he shrugs and steps off the edge of the roof.

...and then a couple seconds later, steps back onto the roof as though nothing happened. wall walking, so simple a child could do it.]

Is that sufficient for "showing off"?

[he doesn't even sound impressed with himself. just dry as the desert, here.]

[later, kakashi finds himself near the stereo, watching scott and the others dance. or, he thinks they're dancing? it's not like anything he's ever seen, not that he's seen much dancing outside of things like traditional festivals.

he stares rather intently at the dancers, not joining in but merely...studying. call him out on his creepiness, if you please.]

after hours

[as everything is slowly cleaned up, kakashi sits on the edge of the roof, staring out into the sunset. he swings his legs absent-mindedly, inadvertently looking more child-like than usual in the process. it wouldn't be very advisable to point that out, though.

if he senses anyone nearby...]

It's nice, isn't it? Before the stars come out, the sky looks just like home.

[Kakashi may not be impressed with himself, but Kabane is so impressed that he's already clapping when Kakashi walks back up. For a second there, he really thought the guy had gone splat.]

It was amazing. I can climb, but I can't walk like that. How did you do it?

[Yukina had seen some amazing power during her time in the demon and the human world. However, that didn't stop her from being impressed with what she had seen. She already knew he had some powers back when she first met him but...!]

That's amazing, I didn't know you could do that!

[She doesn't sound malicious, or like she's trying to belittle him. It's... a genuine, honest question.]

It's probably faster to just climb it normally. Unless the point's just to be intimidating.

[Dancing was far beyond his comfort zone, so Levi was perfectly fine sitting out. Seeing Kakashi also sitting out wasn't that surprising, but the intensity with which the boy was watching was odd.]

Um. I-its just dancing. If you want to learn how someone will probably teach you.

[Sure, he could help with cleaning, but he's leaving that to some of the other club members (might as well use their help if they're offering). So, Scott stops by with a couple of leftover fruit sandwiches in hand, taking the opportunity to plop down by Kakashi's side. He has the right idea, just sitting on the edge of the roof and letting their legs dangle. It really is a nice view.

Turning his head to his friend, Scott offers the sandwich to him with a small grin.]

Sure, I guess. [And with good humor:] I mean, the sky's always gonna be red for me, but guess that's still home.

[Is Quentin a teenager? Not by any metric. He's just here to be a chaperone pest. And what better way to be a chaperone pest than to go bother all the wallflowers not participating in Normal Kid Stuff?]

Damn, you're really this serious all the time, huh kid?

[Sure, it was a little weird that Kakashi was so stoic on the terminal quest, but at least that was a mission and not like... a dumb kid party for kids.]

[ At least Kakashi isn't the only person who is not dancing. Ange will at least agree to come to club meetings for Scott's sake, but she would rather be found dead than ever be caught dancing, thanks. So the moment that ensues, she just sits over at the sides..

.. which also makes it way easier to spot Kakashi. And what he's doing. Ange raises an eyebrow, watching for a moment to make sure he's really staring so intently at everyone else for a while and not just because she caught him at a weird moment, but her initial impression seems to be right.

It makes her get up, walking over to him. ]

What are you looking at like that? [ It almost sounds accusatory, but her tone is just a little bit too flat and emotionless for it. ]

[Kabane is not a member of TWAT, but he'd heard about the club from Miss Yukina and he's seen the fliers scattered about town. As part of his mission to make friends, he feels obligated to attend.

It helps that Yukina also told him that humans and kemono coexist here. In this strange world, he doesn't have to keep his existence a secret. No one here is. In fact, everyone is being encouraged to show off all the very inhuman things they can do. Right out in the open.

There's so much to take in, so many different abilities showcased by so many different types of people, that perhaps Kabane lets himself get a bit too excited about the whole thing.

When his turn comes around, he doesn't hesitate. He grabs his own arm and tears it out of its socket.

It doesn't sever cleanly, but it doesn't bleed either. After a couple seconds, a brilliant white flame erupts from the wounded flesh and begins rebuilding his arm from scratch. In no time at all, he's left holding his severed arm with his shiny new arm. Nonplussed, he removes his glove from the dead arm and puts it on the new one.]

I can't die.

[He proclaims proudly.

Is he allowed to be in the club now?]

[Of course Scott's the leader of this club because he's definitely the one in charge of everything in Aldrip. It's not a well-guarded secret that Scott's the one that leads this group and he isn't full of crap in this instance! Nonetheless, he's glad to see Kabane here, and he watches with curiosity when the young teen steps up to show off his ability and-- holy shit.

Scott thinks he's displaying a large amount of self-control and self-restraint by not panicking or yelling about the arm being detached from Kabane. It's helped by the fact that his friend isn't yelling either, although he's not sure if he should be more worried that he's not bleeding at all. Because that's not normal and like yeah, eye lasers is his thing, but still!!

But it's not long before his arm begins to rebuild itself and wow. He's impressed. Scott's mouth slowly parts as Kabane holds his severed arm with his new one and since everything seems to be okay, he steps up to him.]

Instant healing? From any injury?

[Sora was used to many things. Fighting monsters, creepy places.

Massive amounts of gore? That was new.

When she'd see him stepping up to show off what he could do, she'd just given an encouraging smile. Pumping her fists to cheer him on.

THEN HE'D TORN HIS ARM OFF- WHAT- For a few, silent seconds she just stared at him. Blinking. Not comphending what she'd just seen?

Then she squeaked, waving her hands, running over. Looking him over. Starting to tear up.]

A-are you alright?

[ Well! Guess who didn't see that coming.

Koharu yelps once he tears off his own arm, throwing both hands over her mouth. She watches in horrified awe as the arm simply... grows back, and it takes her a long moment to muster up a response. ]

M.. maybe you could've started with something smaller first? Doesn't that hurt?

Levi'd been to a number of TWAT meetings (mostly when they were billed as mandatory like this one) and he'd mentioned he could do some magic when asked but he'd never shown any of it. It was mostly for combat, he'd explain, and he never thought he could exert enough control to keep his Pyromancy Trick or Roots that Reap from causing damage to someone or something. Talking to rats wasn't very flashy and he wasn't always able to get the healing spell to do much, so he never wanted to hurt someone in case he couldn't heal it. And Rotting people was right out. But there was one spell he knew that he could extort enough control over that it he could keep a quick demonstration from causing harm to people. Well, physical harm. Unfortunately, this time when he was pressed to prove it his attempt to look around for a distraction landed him on the one thing he could use.

Kabane had severed his own arm earlier and Levi's eyes fell upon it. He could use Flesh Puppetry, though he'd never thought he'd have to use it outside of Termina and the random severed limbs that littered the streets and containers. But...

Levi swallows hard, "O-okay...I-I can, um," He doesn't know how to put this, so instead he just gestures to the arm and concentrates for a moment. It raises into the air and waves.


II

Levi hadn't shown up early, instead opting to show up late and slip in quietly without drawing attention to himself. But he'd feel bad if he didn't help out somehow, so he stuck around afterwards to help clean up. A lot of things needed to be picked up or sorted out, so he was going around with a garbage bag and putting obvious trash in it. A half finished drink or a plate with just a few things left on it and he wasn't sure if that was trash or not. Were you near one? Levi clears his throat and points, "A-are you done with that?"
