Where: Roof of the club building
What: Teenagers with abilities or maybe no real abilities hanging out on the rooftop and eating food. Talking. Doing club stuff.
Warnings: Probably none.


[Maybe you're already part of TWAT club and read the message that Scott sent out to everyone, basically stating that they're having a meeting and it's definitely required for you to come and hang out and meet new members. Or you saw one of the flyers around town that mentioned about having a meeting and that newbies are welcome to stop by. Either way, the meeting is held at the rooftop of the club building, so just come. No food or anything required. He's a good leader like that, yeah. Definitely.]

[Why do you keep coming early!!

Well, anyone that is one of those people that likes coming early to events, Scott's putting you to work. Yep, immediately volunteered. Maybe it's just helping to get the food out on the tables, or bringing chairs or tables up to the rooftop. Either way, work needs to be done and setup is still in progress, so pair up with other TWAT members or whatever to get things ready. Thanks, Scott appreciates it. Probably. At this point, he might be relying on people to show up early to help...

Also, if you have your own food or brought a game of some sort, that's cool. He definitely isn't going to say no. Go set that up.]

[Once the meeting starts and after Scott gives a relatively decent speech about welcoming new people to TWAT Club and to have fun, people are more than welcome to dig into the spread laid out on the tables. There's the usual fanfare like chips and dip, cookies, and pizza, but there's also fruit sandwiches that Scott and Kotone made together. There's a vegetable plate as well, but with an added note that says 'for you healthy nerds,' although that note mysteriously disappears after a while (with Kotone shoving a carrot stick in Scott's mouth).

Since this is a place filled with teenagers and abilities... Scott probably has encouraged people to show off their powers a little. JUST DON'T BLOW SOMETHING UP it's okay, he's talking about himself too. Of course, he's not forcing anyone to show off their powers and everything, but he sort of hopes people are feeling more comfortable to do so. That is the purpose of his club and everything, along with an underlying encouragement to help others with their powers if applicable.

There's also music being played! Thanks to Kotone's MP3 player, a mix of electronica and J-Pop from the mid-to-late 2000s is playing from a stereo, so hopefully that's your jam. It will be your jam, because those are the only songs playing. You're welcome to dance as well, Scott definitely is... in his own way:

[Feel like being a nice person and want to help clean up? Nice. Scott isn't forcing anyone to stay after, but he appreciates the assistance (and maybe even expects it at this point). It's mostly just taking tables down and clearing out the trash. Anyone that stays can probably take home some of the leftovers. So, that's a nice bonus.

Or maybe you just want to sit on the ground and enjoy the evening a little. He's not judging. There's a nice little sunset settling in and you have the rooftop to enjoy it. Grab one of your new found friends and watch it together.]

Something smaller? [He looks down at his arm, then back up at poor Koharu.] Like a finger?

[It doesn't make a difference to him, but if he'd given himself a smaller wound, it's true that it would have regenerated faster. Considering the look on her face and her next question, that's probably not her problem though.

He gives her a quick shake of his head.]

It doesn't hurt no matter how big or small it is. It never hurts. So you don't have to worry.

[ That's insane. What the frick. His nonchalance doesn't make her any less shocked. ]

..... How do you do that?

Um. I just pulled it off. [That's what she's asking, right? It seems like a silly question though. Maybe she actually means what happens after.] Then I thought that I wanted it to regrow, and it did.

[Poof! It's that simple.]

I didn't do anything special. It's because I'm part ghoul.

[ He does make it sound so simple... ]

That's... [ She trails off, thinking. ] Like a ghost, right?

[ Apparently they've got one of those around here already, so Koharu is a little less surprised than she could be. ]

No, it's not.

[Blunt, but without any bite in his voice. Ghosts are dead. Kabane can't die. They're about as opposite as it can get.

He holds up the severed arm to better make his point. It's solid to the touch and not see through at all!]

I'm alive and made of flesh and bones, so I can't be a ghost. Ghouls are just kemono. Um. Monsters.

[ Ah, well... No one can ever call her an occult fanatic. ]

Oh... Kemono. Right. [ She responds with familiarity. ] I... think that explains it. I never thought they would be real...

[ Is that a bad thing to say? ]

[If Kabane's reaction is anything to go by, it's not a bad thing to say at all. He nods as if that's totally normal and expected.]

We're not supposed to tell humans. If humans find out, it could start a war.

[Give him a second, as he remembers that things are very different in Aldrip.]

Um, where I'm from, at least. I can tell people here.

Ha... No, I understand.

[ Genuinely! A touch sheepish as it is, Koharu offers a small smile (while trying to ignore the spare limb just hanging around now). ]

I'm kind of the same—humans shouldn't know about me, either. Though, I don't think it would start a war if they did.

[ Being as familiar with Japanese mythology as she is, though, she gets why that would be the case for someone such as himself. ]

[Sorry, Koharu. Kabane is all too used to lugging around his own limbs. He won't think to hide the arm out of sight unless she says anything.

Instead, he tilts his head, eyeing her wings for a good several seconds before returning his focus to her face.]

I see. You're not hiding anymore either. I never thought I'd find a place where humans and kemono coexist.

[ Not out of choice, she thinks, but that goes unsaid for now. Not that she had reason to be nervous about it in the first place. ]

It's surprising how much everyone takes it in stride, huh? Aside from some questions, no one bats much of an eye about it!

[That's true! Some people like Koharu reacted strongly to seeing his power, but once he explained, every single one of them accepted it. It's beyond surprising. It's almost miraculous.]

Maybe it's because some of the humans here are different from the humans I know.

[Did he just recently learn the word "mutant"? Why, yes, indeed.]

I don't understand how other worlds work, but I think they must be amazing places to live.

[ As far as people know where she's from, there's no such thing as magic or the supernatural; it's all simply myth. Who knows how they would react to someone like him in reality... Or herself, for that matter. Maybe it is different in other places where stuff like this is more of a thing. ]

Maybe they wouldn't mind if you asked them more about it.

[He visibly perks up at the thought of just being able to ask. It's such a simple thing that he'd never thought would be possible until now.]

Yeah. If I could learn more...

[Maybe he'd be able to see his friends again.]

Then- [He leans in, wasting no time.] What's your world like? You don't know any kemono, but you can't tell humans about yourself either. Are you all alone?

[ If she's bothered by this invasion of her personal space, Koharu doesn't show. ]

No, I'm definitely not. There are cupids like myself all over, and I spend my days with my senpai now. But for humans, it's... pretty ordinary, really. [ Is that how she should put it? ] Everyone goes to school or work, and lives with their families, and does homework at night and go shop on the weekends... Just living their lives, I suppose.

Cupids... [He parrots, intrigued by this new word. So that's what she is, a cupid. He'll try his best to remember. Satisfied with her answer, he steps back out of her face.] I see. It's good you had someone to talk to.

I've never met a cupid before, but those humans do sound like the humans I know from my world.
