TWAT Club mingle
Who: Scott Summers and members of TWAT (Teenagers With Abilities and Talents) Club. Or any teenager (or if you look like one) that just stops by really.
Where: Roof of the club building
What: Teenagers with abilities or maybe no real abilities hanging out on the rooftop and eating food. Talking. Doing club stuff.
Warnings: Probably none.
[Maybe you're already part of TWAT club and read the message that Scott sent out to everyone, basically stating that they're having a meeting and it's definitely required for you to come and hang out and meet new members. Or you saw one of the flyers around town that mentioned about having a meeting and that newbies are welcome to stop by. Either way, the meeting is held at the rooftop of the club building, so just come. No food or anything required. He's a good leader like that, yeah. Definitely.]
before the meeting;
[Why do you keep coming early!!
Well, anyone that is one of those people that likes coming early to events, Scott's putting you to work. Yep, immediately volunteered. Maybe it's just helping to get the food out on the tables, or bringing chairs or tables up to the rooftop. Either way, work needs to be done and setup is still in progress, so pair up with other TWAT members or whatever to get things ready. Thanks, Scott appreciates it. Probably. At this point, he might be relying on people to show up early to help...
Also, if you have your own food or brought a game of some sort, that's cool. He definitely isn't going to say no. Go set that up.]
just hanging out;
[Once the meeting starts and after Scott gives a relatively decent speech about welcoming new people to TWAT Club and to have fun, people are more than welcome to dig into the spread laid out on the tables. There's the usual fanfare like chips and dip, cookies, and pizza, but there's also fruit sandwiches that Scott and Kotone made together. There's a vegetable plate as well, but with an added note that says 'for you healthy nerds,' although that note mysteriously disappears after a while (with Kotone shoving a carrot stick in Scott's mouth).
Since this is a place filled with teenagers and abilities... Scott probably has encouraged people to show off their powers a little. JUST DON'T BLOW SOMETHING UP it's okay, he's talking about himself too. Of course, he's not forcing anyone to show off their powers and everything, but he sort of hopes people are feeling more comfortable to do so. That is the purpose of his club and everything, along with an underlying encouragement to help others with their powers if applicable.
There's also music being played! Thanks to Kotone's MP3 player, a mix of electronica and J-Pop from the mid-to-late 2000s is playing from a stereo, so hopefully that's your jam. It will be your jam, because those are the only songs playing. You're welcome to dance as well, Scott definitely is... in his own way:

He's having fun, especially since Kotone is right with him and copying his movements. No one can feel embarrassed now. Come and join--]
after club;
[Feel like being a nice person and want to help clean up? Nice. Scott isn't forcing anyone to stay after, but he appreciates the assistance (and maybe even expects it at this point). It's mostly just taking tables down and clearing out the trash. Anyone that stays can probably take home some of the leftovers. So, that's a nice bonus.
Or maybe you just want to sit on the ground and enjoy the evening a little. He's not judging. There's a nice little sunset settling in and you have the rooftop to enjoy it. Grab one of your new found friends and watch it together.]
[ooc: TWAT mingle log! Please feel free to post your own top levels and tag each other. :> If your character would bring food or set something up, go right ahead. The more the better, right? Also your character doesn't need to be part of TWAT to join, Scott will just sort of let any teenager in. 'Teenager' being anyone that doesn't look too much like an oldie--]

Don't worry, this is like their job, training people with powers.
[Sort of?? Well Scott is volunteering his teammate to help anyway! He doesn't see Morph declining this sort of job and worst case scenario, he'll just make it an order! He is the leader of the X-Men and all that, might as well use that. Totally for a good cause.]
They'll be happy to help, promise.
no subject
Alright. [ If he insists, who is she to refuse? ] I'd like that—thank you.
no subject
Very mushy though, so not going to admit it out loud. Still, his smirk turns smaller but more genuine as something empathetic enters in his voice.]
...Sometimes it's hard learning how to control your powers, even if you're born with it.
no subject
I think it's more... trying to do it in the first place. [ She nearly leaves it at this, but then continues on, like an addendum. ] Um—not that I don't appreciate the advice!
no subject
Really? You're telling me that you had no interest in learning how to fly?
no subject
It... [ ... it's what?! ] It's complicated.
no subject
What, you're just going to leave me hanging here?
[He wants to hear the full story! Scott doesn't really think about how he's being exceptionally nosy about this, even if he definitely is. It's a powers related thing and thus he wants to know more.]
no subject
W- well that was the idea. But I—haven't had these for very long, actually...
no subject
So, your wings suddenly emerged like a few days ago?
[Scott asks, voice mixed with both curiosity and actual understanding. He grew up relatively normal for most of his life, then his eyes started hurting in the middle of class, and then he blew up the bathroom. So, yeah, powers just emerge at random times, he gets that.]
no subject
It's... been longer than that.
[ Weeks? Probably closer to a couple of months. ]
I guess you could put it like that, though...
[ That wouldn't be a lie, right? It isn't untrue, technically, if a little misleading. ]
no subject
So, weeks? Look, it's cool.
[Scott isn't relenting per se, but he backs up just a little, one hand awkwardly rubbing the back of his head before continuing. She's definitely caged about all this.] I had my powers for only three days before I was brought to this world. It majorly sucked.
no subject
Only three? [ But he sounds so... confident in himself and all this. ] How long have you been here?
no subject
[So, he's had plenty of time to adjust to his powers since then. However, that progress wasn't made just by himself, he definitely wouldn't have gotten this far, feel more accepting about his optic blasts if it weren't for the people that kept on supporting him.
Thinking about it, Scott tries for a small smile, recounting his first day in this new world.]
But when I first got here... I was really angry. Upset. In fact, I called myself a freak over the communication devices. [Those devices that existed before the tablets, but Scott figures that part isn't important right now.]
no subject
At... at least you know that isn't true now.
[ R... right? ]
But that's a long time... You're not the first I've heard of someone being here for a while, but it's still crazy to think about. ]
no subject
[If he calls himself a freak nowadays, it's without the more negative connotation. He can't exactly be leader of this club if he still had hang ups about that kind of thing. He just struggles with control, but that's something else entirely.]
But... yeah, I get it. That's what I wanted to say. Adjusting to a big change in your life can be hard and suddenly growing wings counts. [In an almost teasing tone.] It does to me at least.
no subject
[ Koharu's shoulders fall as she exhales a deep breath. ]
Right—sorry. I don't mean to be difficult, there's just a lot to it.
no subject
[He waves a hand, like he's really not bothered by this and he's not. Sure, he wants to help her with her powers and everything, but he's not about to rush her either. Guess everyone has their own pace when it comes to these things. He's really doing his best to understand.]
Don't worry, I'm not kicking you out of club. You're an official member now. [Stuck here etc-]
