Good morning, everyone. My name is Caitlyn Kiramman. Since arriving here, I've struggled with trying to find the right was to put my talents to use. I have a background in investigation, and after the sentencing that began last month, I realized my investigative skills might actually be of use. Therefore, I'm starting a Private Investigation business. Whether it be a jealous lover, proof of wrongdoing, proof of innocence, or any other investigative matter, I would like to be of assistance. Let it be known, I do hold the authority to refuse any cases as I see fit.

I'll be opening a shop in town, where you can speak to me face to face during business hours, or I can be contacted directly through the communication devices here.

I look forward to helping you all.


Also, unrelated to my business venture, but the those Chosen that have been here for some time. Has anyone experienced any...changes? Such as new talents, or abilities that developed overnight?

What an interesting idea for a business--I've never heard of such a thing. Are independent investigators common where you're from? [neither detective work nor forensics have been invented yet in Jugdral.] As for your question, I haven't--have you had such a thing happen?

Somewhat. We have a police force that deals with crime in the city, but there are some that investigate more...personal and private affairs. Though I've started to become skeptical about trusting all higher authority blindly. I'd rather find the answers myself.

[Marcus was a key example. He was working for Silco, so of course he was covering for the Zaunite. She had to go behind his back to find the truth. And she felt the same with the sudden appearance of this "Council" here. Given they were all forced here against their will, and now given these ridiculous sentencing, it felt necessary to look outside the traditional legal box.

As for the second part...]

Maybe? I'm definitely experiencing something new.

Higher authority itself can be blinded. [She thinks of Grannvale's aged king, mourning his son and easily swayed by those with constant access to his court, making a bad situation that much worse.] I used to believe more in them too, but I've learned to my cost that investigating for yourself is the safer thing to do.

What sort of new talent? If you don't mind my asking.

[An unfortunately thing. Something she wouldn't have believed until she saw it first hand. She had been so naïve, to believe in the Enforcers and the Council the way she had. It was all corrupt and powered by money.]

I haven't, but I'm assuming it happened to you? What kind of ability did you get?

[For a brief moment, Scott wonders if she's a mutant like him and is just suddenly getting her powers, but they're from different worlds and she's even older than... so probably not. It's a little depressing because Quentin sucks as his only fellow mutant here.]

Yes, it has. I was practicing with my rifle yesterday and it was like I could feel the bullets. The gun itself. Not by touch, it was like I could sense it. The metal called to me. If that makes any sense.

[It was a little frightening, honestly. She doesn't know what that means, or what she can do with it yet, but if anyone understood, she felt like Scott would.]

[Huh, that's pretty weird. He's definitely no expert when it comes to... sensing or really talking about the emergence of mutant powers, but he wants to help in some way. No way he's just going to be like 'talk to Quentin,' he has input too!!]

Do people have powers in your world? When my powers started emerging, it happened suddenly. My eyes started to burn and ache, and 5 minutes later, I damaged my high school's bathroom.

There is actually a mutant in my world that controls metal and everything, if that helps.

There's mages in our world, but not really where I'm from. My city was established to be a haven from magic, and prides itself in the technology made in the absence of magic.

From the little I know, it can be learned, but it can manifest on it's own, too, though typically at a much younger age. Is it something I always possessed and wasn't aware, or something that happened here? I really can't be sure, but it was like you described. It was sudden, I just felt... different.

Is that so? I wish I could speak to them. To make sense of all of this. I don't even know the limits or what I can actually do, now.

Considering you're mentioning the sentencing, not to mention proof of wrongdoing and proof of innocence, how do you view your work as relating to the ones who are forcing the sentencing on us?

Are you fine with them, and this is intended to help them and what they're doing? Or are you against them?

When it comes to sentencing, my intentions are to help our fellow Chosen. Not everyone here is guilty, and even those that are don't necessarily deserve what this Council thinks is fitting punishment. If I can help with proof of innocence, or at least lessen any attempts by the Council, I want to try.

That's good, at least.

I sure don't agree with some of the annoying chaos some among us are causing here, but letting that Council do whatever sounds like a terrible idea too. The last thing we want to do is letting their power get to their head even more than it already seems to have.

[ Not that Ange has much personal experience with the Council and all, but.. you know, the rumours and stories aren't exactly great. ]

I'm not so sure how much they're willing to listen to proof of innocent though.

My thoughts exactly. While we still don't know who or how exactly they brought us here, it's fair to assume the Council is either responsible or in collusion with the ones that did. They've already crossed a line there in and of itself.

[Which was proven by what they deemed crimes. There were several people here that were being sentenced for something they didn't do or something that shouldn't be considered a crime, while others did horrible things and those things weren't even acknowledged. What gave them the right to pull people from their worlds to punish them here?]

We can't say until we try. We had no warning this time, but now that we know they're starting to sentence people, hopefully we can do more to help the next group.

[Just like the rest of the Chosen starting new businesses, Caitlyn found one of the empty and vacated shops in town and decided to make it her own. It was on the small side, just enough room for a waiting area and an office, but that was more than enough to get started.

The waiting area was a simple couch and table, with a basket she kept stocked with simple refreshments, like apples and crackers. Curious wanders are welcome to poke their head inside, and as the door opens, a bell jingles to alert the owner of your presence.

Have a special request? Need an investigator? Or just simply bored and having a look? Come right in, and Caitlyn will appear to assist shortly.]

[There were plenty of people claiming to the private investigators, though this might be one of the first formal physical locations in order to make inquires. The fliers were the first sign of it being established, and it didn't take long to find the location of the small little shop front.

And who was he to resist the opportunity to entertain a new business? He could already tell that any request that he made would be denied, but he still wanted it clear that he was watching how those of their world were operating. Everyone needed to establish themselves with some activity.

The bell jingled as he stepped inside, leaving the door open as he folded his hands behind his back. He had a satchel hanging cross-body to rest at his hip, and it bulged with notebooks and parchment.]

[Caitlyn knew business would be to slow to start, but it was still a pleasant surprise to hear the jingle at the door. She closed her notebook and stood up from her desk, before moving out of her small office into the waiting area. She wasn't sure who she expected to see seeking out her skillset this quickly, but Silco was not anywhere on that list.

She paused, a bit taken aback, but she pushed through it in an effort to not show any weakness. As frightening as he was, she wasn't going to let him scare her.]

I didn't expect to see you here. What do you want, Silco?

[It was entertaining to watch her excitement fade to reserved caution at the sight of him. He had that affect on certain people, and it was the closest sign of respect for his old reputation. So few knew of what he had been before, so this nudge to the old him was nice on occasion.

All the same, he was actually here on business. Of course, he gave it a fifty-fifty chance that she would outright refuse.]

To employ your services, of course. I have an inclination of what your actually capable of, and it's better to use those powers of deduction for the benefit of many.

[well, Vi's enjoying the Halloween festival thing. she's been getting a bunch of food and stuffing her face, and maybe somehow found some alcohol as well.

and she's dragged Cait along, grinning at her.]

This is the life, huh? This shit here, it's pretty good. All the good food you could ever want...

[and it's all so accessible... it's still so wild to her, even after all this time.]

[Caitlyn can't help but smile as she's dragged along by Vi. She didn't really have to be dragged, but Vi was excited about the festival, and it was cute to see her like this. While this Halloween thing was new, she was a little familiar with festivals around the same time of year in other nations in Runeterra, so it wasn't entirely strange. She's even dressed up for the occasion, donning a witch costume to fit in with the ongoing theme.]

I spent most festivals with my parents, or on duty. It's been some time since I was able to enjoy one freely. [Let alone with someone that meant so much to her. When she found Vi, she never expected it would lead to all these feelings.]

[she's gotten herself a big piece of meat that she's chewing on, and nods appreciatively at it.]

[Caitlyn sure is going to nudge Vi at her comment, but she still laughs, even if she is rolling her eyes.]

And Vi must stand for "violence." [She means that in the most loving way possible, as Vi smacks and chews her meat.]

But you're right. We should enjoy ourselves.

[She doesn't want to say it outloud and jinx it but there really was no telling how long it would be until another incident like the maze or sentencing occurred. They needed to enjoy the peace and quiet while they could.]
