I still can't get over how nice it is here. Planet-wise, I mean.
[Vi starts as she walks towards the field of wildflowers, looking curiously at the blooms. she'd dragged Caitlyn out here to investigate, figuring the other girl would like the break and to see everything.
stop and smell the flowers, and all that.]
Not sure how I feel about the new monsters, though. Could probably do without those.
It certainly is beautiful. [Caitlyn can't help but agree, and while she's definitely enjoying the sights, it's seeing how Vi's face lights up at the wildflowers that really gives her stomach butterflies. Flowers. Something she's taken for granted, bringing so much joy to the other woman. How she wants to make things better for Vi and Zaun, if they can ever escape this place.
Vi's other comment, however, gets a smirk.]
It's a good thing I'm here, now. You'd be hopeless without me here to save you again.
Oh? Is that so? [Caitlyn laughs, mostly because she's teasing. She knows Vi's been through hell since being here. And she knows all too well that Vi really can take care of herself.
But still. It's fun to give her a hard time.]
Yet.
[And she gladly will, if the time comes that it's necessary. And she knows Vi will do the same for her, too.]
It's...been a while. [Which is true! Even having the luxuries of the Uppercity, Caitlyn still didn't get to just go off and do whatever she wanted. Her mother had expectations for her. Even if she did go off and join the Enforcers instead.]
Even the Uppercity doesn't have air this clean.
[They would get bad smog days, too, even if it was nothing in comparison to how things were in the Undercity. So if it's impressive to her, she can only imagine how Vi feels.]
Maybe-- when we finally get home, after we save Piltover and Zaun from themselves-- we can go see more of Runeterra? Find more places like this, untouched by "progress"?
[is she low key just wanting Vi to admit she won't leave her again, after they get home? Maybe. But she still means what she says. She always wanted to see more of their world, but now she had someone she wanted to see it with.]
[Vi considers for a moment. leaving Zaun? that's the only place she's ever known, and since change is such a strange concept for her... she's not sure.
so she avoids the question, kind of.]
Do you think we'll be able to do it? Actually be able to make both sides see reason?
I have to believe we can. [Caitlyn is just stubborn like that. She didn't work this hard, gather intel on Silco, and fight for her life in the Undercity just to give up. Of course, back home, Silco is dead, which eliminates most of the problem.
That leaves Jinx, and while she's all for Jinx rotting in jail for what she's done, she knows Vi has a bit of a different take on how her sister should be handled.]
We found a way to work together. If we can do it, then it's not completely hopeless. [even if she notices that Vi didn't answer her question and it stings just a bit.]
Not everyone's as cute as we are. Probably half the reason why we got away with what we did when we met. And you're... stubborn about seeing the other side of things.
[she pauses, her expression getting more thoughtful and a little sad.]
Shards of glass from the broken lamp are found everywhere in their room, and unsurprisingly with the seaside festival, sand similarly tracks everywhere. The footprints that appear all over the bed and pillows makes it feel purposeful, though, and Mizuki makes it a point to haul all the sheets pillows downstairs to be washed or just straight up replaced.
The only thing that assuages her somewhat is the fact her birthday gift from Astralin truly proves unbreakable, and by now, she's refocused her energy on repairing everything rather than just being mad. ]
Hey.
[ After a while, Mizuki finds herself in their bathroom, whose door is at least still on its hinges, unlike their entrance. ]
[Mizuki was the first to return and find the mess Jinx had caused. It was well into her already cleaning before Caitlyn stumbled in to find the scene of the crime herself.]
Wh-- What happened here? [Even as she says it, she knows. Dammit. But she's following the voice, and is relieved to see Mizuki is safe and unharmed.]
That's the least of my concerns. Are you alright? You weren't in here when she came, were you?
[Vi just walks in, already rubbing her eyes when she sees Caitlyn run into where they'd been staying. she looks around, looking at all the broken items before she hears Cait's voice.]
They better not have hurt you, Miz!
[she'll move past the things that were broken (they're just things, after all), and stand behind Cait, also starting to feel relieved that there's no people hurt.]
[ Mizuki is... actually somewhere between surprised and extremely touched at the concern. "She," though? Coming from Cait, there's only one person she could be talking about. ]
No way! You know I'd kick their ass, guys. I just got back. I'm good.
[ ... ]
But they also kicked the door in. Ugh, we're gonna have to get that fixed today.
[Caitlyn doesn't have to assume. Given the woman in questions hates two of the three people in this room, it only makes sense. Especially now that they know a certain someone who will definitely encourage that hatred has found his way into this place too.]
Things can be replaced. I'm just glad none of us were here when she came through. [Mizuki's claims of kicking ass get a smirk on her face. Caitlyn would love to see that. Jinx certainly deserves it, though Vi would most definitely disagree.]
Did anything else seem amiss? Anything else taken that you've noticed? [Don't mind her, going to check for where she's hidden her notebook for thoughts and clues about this place. Knowing who was here, she planned ahead and hid it under a loose piece of flooring for exactly this reason.]
We can get the door back up. Or... I can do it. Either way, don't worry about it.
[Vi sighs, and runs a hand through her hair as she inspects the damage. she personally didn't have much she cared about, but she knew the other two would be annoyed by it.]
[ She could do it, too. There's the urge to protest, but the truth is, she's really only good for the lifting. But hey, how hard could be, right? Well, that's a problem to be dealt with later. Though probably not too much later. ]
Not really. There's just sand everywhere... Glass, too. They knocked over that lamp.
[Those two can argue about the door, Caitlyn's more focused on finding her notebook safe and sound-- aha! Good. Jinx didn't find her hiding spot. The floorboard was tucked away behind other furniture, so Caitlyn doubted it would be noticed unless Jinx was actually searching specifically for it. Given the only thing that really seemed to be missing was the first-aid kit, it seemed to be the true reason. That, or a diversion for looking for something else.
But with Silco's recent arrival, with recent injuries, it was hard to ignore that line of reasoning.]
She probably just wanted the first-aid kit. And to make a mess. It doesn't seem like she looked through anything else too hard.
who else would break in and steal a first aid kit? a VERY CONCERNED local who doesnt want someone bleeding all over themselves. that could happen too, u know. they do worship us every night and day and junk. maybe next time, be at home so it won't happen again.
and since ure talking about some bastard too, then i DEFINITELY dont know who ure yakking on about. i dont know any bastards. havent came cross any. yet. im hoping so. ive been needing a new human canvas.
