It's...been a while. [Which is true! Even having the luxuries of the Uppercity, Caitlyn still didn't get to just go off and do whatever she wanted. Her mother had expectations for her. Even if she did go off and join the Enforcers instead.]

Even the Uppercity doesn't have air this clean.

[They would get bad smog days, too, even if it was nothing in comparison to how things were in the Undercity. So if it's impressive to her, she can only imagine how Vi feels.]

Maybe-- when we finally get home, after we save Piltover and Zaun from themselves-- we can go see more of Runeterra? Find more places like this, untouched by "progress"?

[is she low key just wanting Vi to admit she won't leave her again, after they get home? Maybe. But she still means what she says. She always wanted to see more of their world, but now she had someone she wanted to see it with.]

I have to believe we can. [Caitlyn is just stubborn like that. She didn't work this hard, gather intel on Silco, and fight for her life in the Undercity just to give up. Of course, back home, Silco is dead, which eliminates most of the problem.

That leaves Jinx, and while she's all for Jinx rotting in jail for what she's done, she knows Vi has a bit of a different take on how her sister should be handled.]

We found a way to work together. If we can do it, then it's not completely hopeless. [even if she notices that Vi didn't answer her question and it stings just a bit.]

[Caitlyn fights back a laugh at Vi's words, the smiling lingering for a few moments before disappearing as Vi continued.

She was stubborn, and that's not changing now either. She clears the short distance between them, moving to try to take one of Vi's hands.]

Maybe more are than you realize. I know I didn't know the truth of what was happening in the Undercity. I'm not the only one blinded by the lies told by Marcus and the Council. If others knew what was really going on, then-- Maybe things will change for the better. They have to.

[She didn't believe Piltover was inherently evil, nor was Zaun. Both had flaws, but both had players changing the game to suit their needs. If the people could see how they were being played, how things really were, surely they wouldn't stand for it. Right?]

[Caitlyn wishes Vi could see what she sees. She wishes she had hope too, but how could she blame her? Her life has been nothing but sorrow. Losing her family, not once, but twice. Being locked away all these years. Still struggling to get the one person left in her family back. She's gone through so much. Of course she's not going to be able to believe there's a light at the end of the tunnel.

But someone has to. So, Caitlyn will. And hopefully, she can make Vi see it one day too.]

... I know. Sorry. [She knew she shouldn't have brought it up. She knows she's silly to even think she has a chance to keep Vi's attention once they get home, anyway.

She let's go of Vi's hand, instead dropping down to pick one of the pretty yellow flowers blooming at their feet.]
No more heavy talk today, promise.
