At the dawn on January 5th the tents for the training grounds raise up again. However, unlike the last time the training camp does not take place in the empty fields of the outskirts but instead they are set on the property of X-Mansion. Courtesy of X-men, who have agreed to let their home to be utilized for common good.

Each tent marks a post for a different activity while ome of them work as a simplified armories. There are sets of blades (from knives to long swords), axes, armors, firearms, bows and arrows and what have you. Feel free to pick your poison, so to speak! However, Richard keeps a keen list on who borrows and what, marking down immediately if something goes missing. So! be sure to return what you take unless you want him to come after you. And just like the always, the chosen are more than welcomed to use their own weapons.

And if the Chosen gets tired of running around in the cold and snow they can go and grab lunch at the mansion's kitchen/dining area! This time it is provided by the inn which, yes, means there's different kind of poultry dishes are being served. As for the dessert there is hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows available for the chosen.

For those who seek out more challenge and advanced training methods they are given access to Danger Room, a holographic combat simulator tucked deep down in one of the basements. In case someone needs help with setting up a perfect training scenario for their needs Morph is there to answer any questions.

[Almost since the day one of his stay in this world, it had come to Richard's attention that there was concerning amount of people who lacked some of the skills that he would consider essential. Such skills as horseback riding. Sure, he had heard of people to talk about 'engines' and 'cars' or 'motorcycles' and whatnot. But those were hardly the same thing. In his world, being able to ride a horse was a proof of a adulthood.

So clearly, he needs to fix this.

Located somewhat remote from the mansion and other activities Richard has set up a smaller tent where one can easily spot three horses. Two of them are of lighter color, one brown and one more cream, and somewhat smaller size compared to the third one. The black horse stands tall and sturdy, looking almost threatening next to the two other ones. And of course it is the one that Richard is tending, brushing the black silk on the horse's side.

[Picking her way through the brush, A2 slows at the sight of the... creatures. To her, they look moose-like, powerfully muscled in the same way, four-legged beasts of burden. There are enough differences to make her frown though, and her approach is suitably cautious.

She's anachronistic in this space herself, with neat seamed joints like a doll and black metal patches where her skin is missing. For a moment she watches in silence, pale eyes unblinking, and then points to the largest of the animals.]

[ Gwen showed up to the training bootcamp in her hero costume, because of course she did. But she doesn't strike the figure of a particularly fearsome or valiant hero when she skips up towards the tent where the horses are paddocked, gleefully watching them with wide eyes under her cowl. ]

Ooh, pretty horsies! Can I feed one of them a carrot?

Swords

[Having been nagged to death by Pod, post-mortem, A2 is a ghostly, black-clad shape among the other trainers. Her own swords, a bright white katana and a heavy, uniform slab of a blade, are set aside in favor of dulled practice weapons. She is concerned that she's much too used to combat with opponents made of metal, but these tools ease her mind.

She's also in a really cute puffer jacket. Ignore that. Her introduction to sword work, as it were, is to toss a practice weapon to her trainee and say:]

Let's see how you stand. [And then:] You're holding it wrong.

[Despite her attitude, her training is accommodating and surprisingly patient.

Later, out of a curiosity she will swear she doesn't have, she'll wander into the danger room and find the opponents therein more to her liking. A2 moves with the fluidity of a dancer, her combat style aggressive, decisive and graceful. A backflip in midair smoothly shifts into her kicking the hilt of her sword to send it spinning into an opponent. She shifts from hand to hand, to cleaving blows with her greatsword, and back to her katana without any interruption in flow. She sprints and dives through space so quickly that she leaves afterimages, mirages to confuse the eye. She and Pod move in concerted effort, picking off their enemies one by one with a combination of A2's strikes and long-range fire from Pod. It's almost too much to look at all at once.]

Listen up. If I'm gonna be helping you guys figure out how to expand your powers, first, I need to know what you can do. So, tell me what you can do, as simply as you can, and we'll go from there.

[Sorry, did you want instruction? Morrigan sits alternating between sorting herbs and plants, and doing her nails. She doesn't seem particularly keen to be there and barely spares a glance for any that approach for instruction.

She eyes them once, makes a 'hm' noise and then goes back to whatever she was doing.

She's waiting for you to speak up and ask first.]

[This isn't the first time Caitlyn's set up a practice area for shooting at one of these training days, this is just the first time she's done it since she's been...injured. The loss of her eye might limit her own sight for shooting, but she still knows what she's doing, and is very capable of instructing others in the skill.

Early in the day, anyone milling about will find her at the tent for firearms, teaching anyone curious to learn about cleaning and safety precautions. She'll even work with those who ask for her guidance at the practice range she set up.

Later in the day, she'll be in the danger room, taking on some of the more challenging trials to test her marksmanship. She's not up to par by her own strict standards, but she's still wiping the floor with the drills she's putting herself through.]
