At the dawn on January 5th the tents for the training grounds raise up again. However, unlike the last time the training camp does not take place in the empty fields of the outskirts but instead they are set on the property of X-Mansion. Courtesy of X-men, who have agreed to let their home to be utilized for common good.

Each tent marks a post for a different activity while ome of them work as a simplified armories. There are sets of blades (from knives to long swords), axes, armors, firearms, bows and arrows and what have you. Feel free to pick your poison, so to speak! However, Richard keeps a keen list on who borrows and what, marking down immediately if something goes missing. So! be sure to return what you take unless you want him to come after you. And just like the always, the chosen are more than welcomed to use their own weapons.

And if the Chosen gets tired of running around in the cold and snow they can go and grab lunch at the mansion's kitchen/dining area! This time it is provided by the inn which, yes, means there's different kind of poultry dishes are being served. As for the dessert there is hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows available for the chosen.

For those who seek out more challenge and advanced training methods they are given access to Danger Room, a holographic combat simulator tucked deep down in one of the basements. In case someone needs help with setting up a perfect training scenario for their needs Morph is there to answer any questions.

I brought some other ones, and someone I know can make them from rock. I'm not worried.

From rock? [ Hiei pauses a moment to think of it before it occurs to him that he probably knows exactly who would think to make targets for people to punch out of rocks. ] - That wouldn’t be Toph’s idea, would it? Toughen your very breakable human hands on a stone?

[ He’s amused by the thought at least - and if it is Toph he will absolutely have to give her shit about it the next time he sees her.

What he’s got is overkill for the situation but .. for better or for worse the fire demon also has zero chill. He doesn’t bother with squaring up, simply pulling back his dominant hand and punching at his full force.

The poor dummy doesn’t stand much chance as it explodes backward, but the little fire demon looks pleased with himself anyway. ]

The rock might’ve been able to take more.

Ah, so you know her. Yep, that's definitely Toph. And I usually punched the walls for practice, so my hands are used to the beating.

[she watches as he really decimates the dummy, and her eyebrows raise. not that she's all that surprised, honestly. people have really wild abilities, here.]

Showoff. But it looks like you're relying too much on your magic, or whatever supernatural ability you got going on. What if you didn't have that?

[ Hiei raises a brow as she says she punched the walls for practice, but.. let's be honest, he hangs out with Yusuke and Kuwabara, that is not the weirdest training technique he's ever heard of. Hell, there are demons that run on making mists of their own sweat - who was he to think on that a little too hard?

Other than, of course, he doesn't perceive her as anything other than human, but he could be wrong. ]

I told you that it wouldn't stand a chance. [ The fire apparition shrugs his shoulders, not spending too much thought on being told he's relying too much on his ability. ]

I am a demon, there is no removing myself from my ability. Or magic, as you put it. My strength and speed have nothing to do with my ability, anyway. Without demon energy, I cannot summon fire, but I don't necessarily need that to win.

[a demon, huh. probably the first time she's met one, but not the weirdest person she's ever met. she's come a long way since being surprised at these sorts of things.

she purses her lips.]

Sometimes this place fucks with us. Takes abilities, or gives them. I don't have any for myself outside of this, but I still think it's important to know how to fight as if to assume you don't have it.

[a beat.]

Yes. It took the darkness flame from me, somehow. [ And he's still annoyed about it. He'd almost given his right arm and then his life to harness that power, and now it was gone - even if he still had the mark of the dragon on his body, still bound under bandages that he does more out of routine than actual need.

Creatures of habit don't give them up as easily as appearing in some simulation.. or something. ]

My form? [ Forgive him if he sounds amused, it's only partially because he's a little asshole amused at the thought he may need to be taught or corrected on anything. ]

I will have to slow down to a snail's pace to show you.

[even though powers are beyond her, she's still kind of curious whenever they come up. maybe it's because it's just because she doesn't mind learning about other people's worlds...
