[training mingle] - I wanna be the very best
Who: The Chosen of Aldrip
Where: The X-mansion
What: The Chosen of Aldrip are invited to yet another training montage
Warnings: General violence. Please mark any other potential warnings on the thread titles!
At the dawn on January 5th the tents for the training grounds raise up again. However, unlike the last time the training camp does not take place in the empty fields of the outskirts but instead they are set on the property of X-Mansion. Courtesy of X-men, who have agreed to let their home to be utilized for common good.
Each tent marks a post for a different activity while ome of them work as a simplified armories. There are sets of blades (from knives to long swords), axes, armors, firearms, bows and arrows and what have you. Feel free to pick your poison, so to speak! However, Richard keeps a keen list on who borrows and what, marking down immediately if something goes missing. So! be sure to return what you take unless you want him to come after you. And just like the always, the chosen are more than welcomed to use their own weapons.
And if the Chosen gets tired of running around in the cold and snow they can go and grab lunch at the mansion's kitchen/dining area! This time it is provided by the inn which, yes, means there's different kind of poultry dishes are being served. As for the dessert there is hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows available for the chosen.
For those who seek out more challenge and advanced training methods they are given access to Danger Room, a holographic combat simulator tucked deep down in one of the basements. In case someone needs help with setting up a perfect training scenario for their needs Morph is there to answer any questions.
The activities include:
Archery (instructor: Richard)
Horseback riding (instructor: Richard)
Swords (instructors: a2, Mitsuru Kirijo)
Magic + Superpower guidance(instructors: Morrigan, Fauna)
Firearms (instructors: Caitlyn, Levi)
Non-lethal combat (instructor: Vash)
Tech-Support (instructor: Mitsuru)
First-aid (instructor: Kurama)
Survival skills (instructor: Kurama)
Rescue Training (instructor: Morph)
Hand-to-Hand combat (instructor: Vi)
Danger Room (instructor: Moprh)
Lunch
[ooc: There is going to be a top-level for each activity/category. But feel free to make your own wildcard options outside of them, too. o/]

wonder why.
she's wrapping her hands as she waits for someone, glancing up as someone approaches.]
You coming for training, or to watch me beat the shit out of some dummies?
no subject
[ Hiei is always curious about other fighters in Aldrip. These days it’s less about using the information strategically, just in case, and more a matter of seeing what everyone was capable of.
After all, with Kuwabara here, he is well aware of what their group specifically can handle all on their own. Even with Yusuke in the spot he’s in… Hiei and Kurama can make up the deficit. He is confident in that.
The fire apparition perks up for a moment as she speaks to him, shoulders rising in a shrug. ]
I am content to watch. Your targets are already on their last legs without my participation.
no subject
Only some. There's a couple that'll still work.
[she nods to the ones that're... not perfect, but still in better condition.]
Too bad, though. If you're over here, then you're going to beat the shit out of some dummies.
no subject
For a few moments, anyway. [ he could hold back, but what’s the fun in that? Hiei may be small in frame, but can put a punishment on most things without much effort.
He huffs an amused sound as she insists that if he is here, he will punch a few targets, and shrugs his shoulders. Fine, if she insists.
He pauses for a moment to find a place to lean his sword at least. ]
Fine. But I hope you have a place to source new targets from once I’m done.

[she motions to them, now.]
Let's see what you've got.

[Caitlyn is 100% there to watch, and...maybe train a little too. But she's fine watching, because her woman is absolutely a work of art. It never fails to amaze her, watching Vi fight or even just train. The way she carries herself, the way she punches, the way her muscles move and contract--
Yeah, she's gay as shit for this woman.
She has a break from her own station, so of course she was going to see how her partner was doing. Well, it seemed, by the way she's already glistening with sweat, and how rough those dummies are already looking.]
no subject
Oh no, you're getting your ass over here and training more than just watching me. You can do that anytime.
no subject
[But she laughs all the same. Vi sees right through her, because of course she does. Caitlyn likes the view. Her smiles disappear after a second though, her singular blue eye shifting to the punching bags.]
My balance is still off. Maybe I should wait a little longer--
[Vi, make your girlfriend train. It was easy, picking up her rifle again. As if she could go long without that. Caitlyn is way too stubborn to be still for very long. But hand to hand? She doesn't like to say she's traumatized, but...it brings back memories. Of sparring with Ambessa, of having to fight for her life, of almost losing everything--]
no subject
Your balance is never going to get better if you don't practice. Come here.
[at least her form of fighting is different from Ambessa's. Ambessa relied more on weapons than Vi does -- Vi operates on pure power.]
We'll start back with your form before anything else. 'Kay?

When she sees her voice twin at one of the stations, she can't help but stop by, eyeing the beat up dummies curiously.]
I'm not against some friendly competition.
no subject
You first. I wanna see how much of a punch spiders can pack.
no subject
[And that's with them holding back, too, but she's not going to tell her that. The last thing Gwen needs is this obviously stubborn woman trying to convince her to go at her full strength!! That was not about to happen, even if she is just punching a punching bag.]
Sounds good, though. [Don't mind if she walks on over to the punching bag, and...suddenly realizes she's never actually punched a punching bag in her life. She's punched a lot of bad guys, but never a bag full of sand.]
Uh-- actually, do I just---? [She pretends to throw a few punches, not actually connecting with the bag, as she glances over at Vi sheepishly.]
I was a dancer before the whole spider stuff, not a boxer.
no subject
Yep. You're not gonna hurt anything -- just go ahead and punch it.
[a beat, and she shrugs.]
Dancers gotta be light on their feet too, right? So do boxers. It's not actually that much different in that respect.
no subject
she took some time to stretch and warm up, and now that she's ready... ]
Here for trainin'. Can't learn much else any other way.
no subject
Let's go, then. Let me see your form -- and what's your name?
[she doesn't think she's met this one before...]
no subject
Ryuunosuke Fujinami. Not plannin' to let any of ya down.
[ she closes her eyes, and thrusts her fist into the chest of the dummy. quick, strong, but absolutely holding something back. ]
no subject
Oh yeah, I got you in the Secret Santa thing that girl was doing.
[but she puts her hands on her hips, shaking her head.]
Well, first off, don't close your eyes. Second off, you can't hold back -- you're definitely doing that.
(no subject)
no subject
[ look, she's even got some hand wrappings this time. ]
no subject
Alright, this time you fight them instead of me. At least for now. Lemme see your form.
no subject
[ it's every bit i am a teenager and therefore too good at everything to try. ]
no subject
[and she's stubborn right back. she knows the "i'm too good at everything to try" mentality -- she was like that, once. still is like that, in some things.]

[Truthfully, Clark doesn't really like to fight; when dealing with enemies, he mainly tries to keep them from hurting civilians more than anything, and he prefers to fight only as a last resort. But he's already offered his help to Richard, so here he is.]
no subject
They can take a bit more. There's some I haven't beat up as much, too.
[she gestures to the ones that look better, further out.
she eyes him a bit, and puts her hands on her hips after that.]
And you're?
no subject
[There's some hesitation from Clark when Vi asks for his name. He's been in this place long enough that he knows most people don't bother to hide their identities here, but he's spent so long keeping who he is a secret that it still takes some getting used to.]
...Clark Kent. Some people call me Superman.
[Listen, he didn't come up with the name, his girlfriend did.]
no subject
Superman...
[it sounds like some sort of pet name to her honestly. but then she gestures at the dummies.]
Alright Superman, let's see what you got.
