The Last Drop Grand Opening
Who: Whoever would like to attend the grand opening mingle at the Last Drop
Where: Entertainment District – The Last Drop
What: The grand opening of the night club / bar
Warnings: Alcohol and low-level drugs

The Last Drop opens big and loud with neon lights and music that booms from within to be heard from the streets. There are two large bouncers at the door, but they were allowing people in very freely on this night until the room was at capacity then there would be a line. The bouncers only stop those who are already three-sheets to the wind and could cause trouble, but otherwise, they are there to break up trouble as the night wears on.
Inside, there was smoke machines, flashing lights, loud music and the drinks were flowing to anyone that wanted. There was plenty of dancing, some dart boards along the walls, a jukebox, tables and booths for patrons to have drinks and discuss business.
There are stairs that lead up to a second floor to one side of the bar, lights on the stairs. There were people lounging on the stairs and it seemed to be ‘employees only’. Patrons were allowed the lounge there as well if they were tired of dancing or the tables or booths were occupied.

That's definitely embarrassing!
[ Please, Jinx. Don't you know by now that Ange can't even survive a single motion of the f-word? It's too much for her. Let alone when there's all those adjectives added onto it.
But at least Ange is keeping her voice down a little. After all, Jinx isn't causing a scene for once, and Ange doesn't want to ruin that by ironically enough being the one causing a scene. So her voice is more like a hissed whisper. ]
Besides, I know the guy in charge here too, you know. But I thought asking him for an invite would be dumb.

[ when they make it to the front of the line, the bouncers exchange glances at each other and then eye the two girls. their attention isn't so much as jinx, but more so to ange than anything.
she doesn't look like the type who would enter into this kind of establishment, and the expression on their faces share that precise thought. however, jinx stands before the two muscle men with confidence, and does another playful hip bump to the redhead. ]
This is Grets! She's one of mine, my important girl. So, she's allowed in from now on. No matter what, okay? Whaaateevvver the lady wants.
no subject
So apparently 'important girl' is acceptable enough? Or maybe Ange is saving it for later, when it won't clearly ruin the act that's going on here right now. She does want to get in, after all, or she wouldn't have bothered asking Jinx for it in the first place.
So when the men seem to shrug over Jinx's explanation - seeming to prove Ange's idea that the other does have some sway here, the reason she approached Jinx specifically - Ange is quick to drag the other along.
A feat that's made so much easier by Jinx having hooked their arms together.
It's only when they're far enough inside to be out of earshot of the two men that Ange raises an eyebrow at the other girl, asking: ]
Important?
[ At least it doesn't sound.. very annoyed..? Maybe more curious. ]
1/2
maybe tonight, she finally wants to be a social butterfly and give it a go. and her expression twists into an even more puzzling mess when ange echoes a single word she had said to the bouncers. ]
...
2/2 cw: uh idk. jinx being jinx again. and i need to sleep. typos everywhere
Well, of course, Grets. Besides my sister, you're the only other girl in my life. And I'm not gonna let anything happen to you. Fingers crossed.
[ with that, she unhooks her arm with the other, then takes a step back while holding up her hand to cross her middle with her index. jinx gives her the option to either sprint off to the crowd or continue to converse with her. she isn't going to tie the girl down and force any sort of interaction. after all, she said she would get her in, didn't she? request fulfilled. ]
girl get some sleep!!! gently tucks you into bed!!!
[ Now it's Ange having that same reaction Jinx had only a moment ago. The silence. The staring.
It's only when the other girl starts to turn as if she's about to head into the crowd that Ange does speak up again. Like she was so stunned into silence that it took that just to find her voice.
She reaches out, grabbing a hold of Jinx's elbow before the other can fully disappear, tugging on it to try and get her attention. ]
Jinx!
[ God, Ange has never been grateful for these dumb nightclub/bar atmospheres as she is now. She hates them most of the time, but all the sound from everyone else does make it a lot easier to feel like no one else is paying attention to them. Which certainly helps, because Ange feels like she's looking flustered right now, and she doesn't like it. She likes the idea of any eyes on it even less as she tries to form words when the other girl is looking back at her. ]
What do you even mean?! You know other girls! This place is full of girls! It's not even like this place is a total sausage fest! [ S-She's not sputtering! You're sputtering!! ]
I WILL IN A SECOND.
Hmmm? What's that, Shuckums? Sorry, I can't hear you! The music in here is just really, really loud...!
TUCKS YOU IN MORE AGGRESSIVELY!!!
[ Okay, now she's even more glad that the atmosphere here is kind of drowning out their conversation to anyone else. Otherwise she might have had to wish that the ground would just swallow her up right now. ]
I know you're just always doing this stuff to get a rise out of me! I don't care if it's fun or if it's working [ - you know, given Ange's current reaction, it's definitely working, that's for sure, especially since Ange's face is starting to colour pink from the fluster - ] but you have to stop..!
i opened my eyes after they've been closed for a few hours
Are you done?
i guess it counts.. for now!!!!!
Why would Jinx be different?
.. she clearly isn't, if this reaction is anything to go by. At least she isn't continuing her teasing, but this doesn't feel better. It feels like a lid is forcefully being slammed down, right on top of Ange's leaking emotions.
But it happens so suddenly that Ange - at first - is just startled. There's no anger alongside the hurt, not yet. Instead there's just the startling sensation, the shock, the way Ange's voice grows a little more quiet and vulnerable along with her wider eyes as she asks: ]
What?
[ It's no angry accusation. It sounds like confusion, like she doesn't quite understand what's going on. Something more innocent spilling out in the middle of said confusion. ]

[ and still, she keeps her tone horribly broad and maybe with a slight shine of disinterest sprinkling in her sentences. but she doesn't move an inch or make an attempt to break away from ange's hold on her, not yet. it all depends on the other's response if she is going to continue to stand here or completely ditch her to explore the club life all by her lonesome. ]
no subject
[ She drops her hold on Jinx - mostly because it's just too awkward to stand there and to hold on to the other. But it does - as a side-effect that Ange didn't quite think about - also make it easier for the other girl to just leave if she'd want to. ]
I'm trying to understand you! But you just-- You always rile me up for no reason and then pretend it never happened. What am I even supposed to do with that?
no subject
[ she folds her arms over her chest and shifts her weight from one foot to the next, finally some emotion showing on her face -- which is slight irritation. ]
Why do you want to understand me anyway, huh? Didn't you say you hated the "F" word? Whatever I am to you is definitely not that, so why bother?
no subject
Ange only vaguely registers the emotion. It hurts, those words Jinx is telling her. The way the other is just plainly refusing to understand her. And-- It's dumb. Because Ange doesn't expect anyone to understand her. No one ever had. No one bothered. The attitude Jinx has right now is what Ange has been getting from other people all her life-- and often even worse at that.
So then why does it sting? ]
What? Isn't that normal?
[ She has no idea what's considered normal on a social level, but she has to bluff this. Her poker face has definitely slipped, but she's doing her best to keep her expression from fully dropping to the level of looking as miserable as she feels right now. ]
Don't people want to understand each other? Don't you want to understand me?
no subject
I've tried to understand you, but you've been giving me the runaround for months...! You wanted me to quit acting like I was a minute ago, so I stopped. And now you're being all upset. What the hell do you want from me?
no subject
What?
This is a kind of curveball Ange didn't expect here. Sure, she didn't know what to expect in general, but whatever she was imagining, it likely wasn't like this. It makes the redhead look utterly confused for a moment before she speaks up again. ]
Wait, you think I'm the confusing one? [ When Ange thought - this entire time! - that it was Jinx who was the confusing one. She was utterly convinced of it.
Hence why this is now making her look so dumbfounded for a moment. ]
no subject
[ not with too much force, she grips onto the other girl's chin to ensure they will not break any contact by any means while she continues to speak her mind. ]
I've tried being your friend, I've tried to take you in as one of my own, and I've tried to help you let loose and have fun. But all you seem care about is trying to get me to follow the rules and to submit to the damn Council. You don't want to understand me, you want to stop me from being me.
no subject
But she's still going to damn well try, considering how awkward she is with physical contact in the first place. ]
I want us to survive!
[ Maybe it's not the full truth.
But it only isn't because Ange doesn't count herself among that 'us.' Jinx, though? Sure, if Ange can help it, she'd like the other to survive. Even if she doesn't understand Jinx at all, it's not like she actively wants the other girl to die. Same goes for anyone else in this stupid place. ]
That's not the same as submitting. [ She'd ask are you crazy in any other circumstance, but Ange knows at least that a line like that ought to be sensitive enough to Jinx that - for once - she bites her tongue, swallowing the words before they can spit them out. She isn't here to sling barbs. Not right now. ] Besides, how am I your biggest issue with that? There's way more people in this place who are far bigger goody-two-shoes than me!
[ Surely she isn't the only one who's ever told Jinx to chill just a little bit. She can't imagine that. Unless others are just outright ignoring her altogether, finding engagement here to be too big of a pain. ]
But, sure, god forbid someone looks out for the people around them, huh?!
no subject
Yeah, they are other wimps around here, but you're the one who's nipping at my heels the most. About everything. And I'll say it one more time, you don't see me as a friend, so how are you looking out for me? If I didn't know any better, I'm sure you hate my guts. Not that I care.
no subject
[ The frustration is audible in her voice, though Ange's body language grows slightly less combative now Jinx is no longer touching her face, at least. ]
Because I'm the person around here who's known for involving myself with people I hate. Just my favorite activity in the world. [ She thought she made it pretty clear to most people that Ange won't bother to talk if she doesn't feel like it, after all. Socializing is enough of a nightmare by itself, let alone having to do it when it isn't even necessary. ]
You're the one who's acting all weird out of the blue and assuming the worst possible scenario over nothing! Are you forgetting I went out of my way to try and save you back in that stupid maze or something?! Do you think I was doing that because I thought it was fun?
no subject
[ she waves her hand dismissively over the whole conversation, before quaffing down her drink until it's entirely empty. and when it is, jinx tosses it behind her shoulder, and then it shatters into tiny shards of itself over the bar's floors. ]
I'm getting another drink.
[ the blue haired girl mutters, then sidesteps away from the other to waltz her way to the bar. ]
no subject
But right now-- She doesn't feel like it. This sure was a social situation that Ange wasn't prepared for, and it's drained her battery like no one else could. Why does Jinx even have to be like this, anyway? Doesn't she see that Ange was trying to help her - and then she's getting all pissy about it? It's frustrating and hurtful at the same time, and of course a girl with literally no social experience like her doesn't know how to deal with it.
So even though she figures Jinx wasn't going to come back anyway, Ange quickly moves through the crowd away from there to find a relatively more quiet spot in the bar - just trying to recover from all of that. ]
