The Last Drop Grand Opening
Who: Whoever would like to attend the grand opening mingle at the Last Drop
Where: Entertainment District – The Last Drop
What: The grand opening of the night club / bar
Warnings: Alcohol and low-level drugs

The Last Drop opens big and loud with neon lights and music that booms from within to be heard from the streets. There are two large bouncers at the door, but they were allowing people in very freely on this night until the room was at capacity then there would be a line. The bouncers only stop those who are already three-sheets to the wind and could cause trouble, but otherwise, they are there to break up trouble as the night wears on.
Inside, there was smoke machines, flashing lights, loud music and the drinks were flowing to anyone that wanted. There was plenty of dancing, some dart boards along the walls, a jukebox, tables and booths for patrons to have drinks and discuss business.
There are stairs that lead up to a second floor to one side of the bar, lights on the stairs. There were people lounging on the stairs and it seemed to be ‘employees only’. Patrons were allowed the lounge there as well if they were tired of dancing or the tables or booths were occupied.

[Silco made a point of pulling out one of the chairs and easing himself down casually. He crossed one leg over the other, watching people having a good time and also make fools of themselves in the same breath.]
So, what is it that you desire to receive from a place like this?
no subject
[He gives the man a conspiratorial little smile, as if he too finds those events tiring. He doesn't really mind them, honestly. They're battlefields he's actually suited to, and he admittedly does like dancing.]
But that's an awfully intense way to phrase it. I'm just looking for ways to pass the time, really. I find myself rather...adrift, in this world.

[Was he actually calling a bar fight between drunkard a sparring session? Yes, yes he was. It was good fun for some, but it was also a learning opportunity. There was nothing quite like getting ones ass absolutely handed to them to consider how to better swing.]
I experienced similar when I first arrived, but this is a place of opportunity if you have the drive to take it.
no subject
That's an optimistic way to look at it, but I'm not ready to get so settled here. I have things I need to get back to. The only opportunity I can accept right now is one that allows me to get home.

You're going to be in a holding pattern then. Some Chosen have already been here nearly a year. Many wish to return to their homes. Some disappear, but there is no solid evidence if they return home.
[He glanced at the younger man.]
My point is that you should find another means to pass the time in between searching for a way to return where you came from.
no subject
[He sounds awfully confident. Is that the self-assurance of a king, or just that of a seventeen year old?]
But I suppose finding a hobby wouldn't be the end of the world.
no subject
[He had seen that kind of confidence before, and he made a mental note to keep an eye on this one to see if it was all talk or if action would come from it as well. He had been that young before with massive dreams, and he knew there was a way that those with innovation and drive could do great things.]
Indeed. No doubt you'll find something you enjoy.

You want to stay here?
no subject
[Silco made it no secret of his demise. His primary motivation was to stay here and build something for himself and his daughter, should she decide to stay. That was, assuming it was an option. Of course, he had to revise his plans after talking to the writing on the screen that monitored this prison.]</small

...I didn't know that was possible.
[Casually dropping a resurrection bomb is a hell of a thing. He chooses to shift focus and reexamine that general subject later in private.]
If the point of all this is reformation, then why bother with someone already dead?
no subject
[He wasn't about to scoff at the freedom provided, even if it still came with a collar around all of their necks. He had seen how this place could manipulate the very fabric of people's beings. Still, better than being dead.]
Oh, I was a very bad person when I was alive. Maybe they wanted a challenge.
no subject
Surely there are living people who are just as terrible as you supposedly are. I can't imagine their only choice if they wanted a challenge was to raise the dead.

I would like to think not, but I imagine many people would say the same regardless of the reality. People aren't often both honest and self-aware. So my word on the matter likely doesn't hold much weight.

We are the heroes of our own stories, and to be anything else, would cast doubt on our true abilities to make changes for the betterment of ourselves and those around us. I expect there is a spectrum we are supposed to measure up to.
no subject
And yet you call yourself a bad person. Does that make you an anti-hero, then?
no subject
[And he would do whatever was necessary - or so he thought - until the day that he died. It turned out he had to face his own weakness before he died and then accept living with it for the few hours before he was killed. He was amused by the irony of it, living parallel with Vander in the end.]
no subject
Free from what?
no subject
Slavery, oppression, exploitation. It's a story as old as time I imagine.
no subject
[It's neither sarcasm or complimentary, just pure observation before he continues sipping at his drink.]
no subject
[He tilted his head in consideration.]
What of you? Aside from leaving this place, you have life goals?
no subject
I have goals that can only be accomplished when I return home. There are people that depend on me, others who would take advantage of my absence for their own gain, and an opportunity that isn't likely to come again. This place serves only to threaten everything I've ever worked for.
[It's a little dizzying to think of the fresh family drama that also awaits him whenever he returns home, but he's been trying not to dwell on all that. Thinking about his mother only leaves him feeling angry and miserable and unwanted.]
no subject
[He wouldn't know. He didn't actually know of anyone who had tried. The Chosen in general were a eclectic group who followed heroics more than rules. Still, it was a potential option.]
