TWAT club meeting mingle

Where: Roof of the club building
What: Teenagers with abilities or maybe no real abilities hanging out on the rooftop and eating food. Talking. Doing club stuff.
Warnings: Probably none.


[Maybe you're already part of TWAT club and read the message that Scott sent out to everyone, basically stating that they're having a meeting this Saturday to just hang out and meet new members. Or you saw one of the flyers around town that mentioned about having a meeting. Either way, the meeting is held at the rooftop of the club building, so just come. No food or anything required. He's a good leader like that, yeah. Definitely.]

[Why did you come early, god.

Well, anyone that is one of those people that like to come early to events, Scott's putting you to work. Maybe it's just helping getting the food out on the tables, or bringing up chairs or tables up to the rooftop. Either way, work needs to be done and setup is still in progress, so pair up with other TWAT members or whatever to get things ready. Thanks, Scott appreciates it. Probably.

Also, if you have your own food or brought a game of some sort, that's cool. He definitely isn't going to say no. Go set that up.]

[Once the meeting starts and Scott gives some basic speech and welcoming new people to TWAT Club (in which he wasn't nervous at all shut up), people are more than welcome to just eat the pretty decent spread laid out in the tables. Stuff like chips, pizza, rice balls, ramen, probably some mixture of American and Japanese food because he's him and his girlfriend is Kotone, so yeah. There's also a little sign or note in front of the tables that states 'provided by cooking club, so join us. ✨'

Since this is a place filled with teenagers and abilities... Scott probably has encouraged people to show off their powers a little. JUST DON'T BLOW SOMETHING UP it's okay, he's talking about himself too. Of course, he's not forcing anyone to show off their powers and everything, but he sort of hopes people are feeling more comfortable to do so. That is the purpose of his club and everything.

There's also a random cornhole game set up. Don't ask.]

[Feel like being a nice person and help clean up? Nice. Scott isn't forcing anyone to stay after to do so, but he appreciates the help. It's mostly just taking tables down and clearing out the trash. Anyone that stays can probably take home some of the leftovers. So, that's a nice bonus.

Maybe you just want to sit on the ground and enjoy the evening a little. He's not judging.]

[ A little dryly, though she doesn't necessarily mean it in a bad way. It's more just that Ange doesn't know how to interpret something being called 'neat'.. Even less so when she isn't used to compliments in general. ]

I'd consider this only 'a little magic' too, though. Summoning butterflies is hardly anything that interesting. If you know magic, it's got to at least be on the same level as that, right?

W-well, some of it can do a lot of damage in a battle...I don't like to use it, though. It makes my head hurt.

[ She tilts her head, seeming to consider this information for a moment. ]

I guess that's possible.. Especially if the magic exceeds the limits of your ability. [ That's how it works for her, after all. Ange knows exactly where her limit is, and she knows exactly what happens when she goes over it.

It's not like it hasn't happened before. ]

It might be possible to get rid of that side effect though if you practice enough. You can kind of stretch the limits of your magic if you train. It's the same as any physical ability.

No, I think that's just how it works where I come from. I only just started using it right before I, uh, ended up here but I talked to people who'd used it for awhile and one who studied it.

[Doesn't help with your MP bar is the same as your Sanity bar.]

I don't really see any need to use it, though. Other people here can do more impressive things anyway.

I see.

[ She's still taking in this information - especially when she knows so little about how magic might function where Levi comes from. Judging from the many stories she's heard from people about their worlds, the magic in his world truly could be anything at all and she wouldn't be surprised by it anymore.

Still - Ange is curious. It's what happens when you're naturally nosy.. ]

What sort of powers have you seen here that you'd consider impressive, anyway?

H-honestly, any powers are still pretty impressive...I just learned magic existed a few days before I, um, was brought here.

[entreats]

[ Though it's not a very intense change in her expression - emotions never show up that wildly on Ange's face, after all, not most of the time - she still looks a touch surprised as she asks: ]

Only a few days?

[ Man. With the way Levi was talking about it, she didn't quite imagine that. ]

That must've really been something for you then. Learning magic, and then only a few days later being suddenly transported to a different world entirely that's full of magic. Sounds like a pretty wild experience so soon after each other. [ At least Ange had known about the existence of magic for quite a few years already before any of this happened, rather than having to deal with both almost at once.. ]

Yeah...but a lot happened in those three days and it was all pretty crazy. Mostly bad crazy.

[Really bad crazy.]

But even though it was just three days it was all pretty intense so I guess we got used to stuff earlier than people normally would. We needed it to survive.

[He sighs and nods.]

Yeah. With everything that happened and how it ended...well showing up here seemed kinda par for the course at the time.

[entreats]

[ .. huh. ]

Did it involve some sort of entity?

[ She's mostly asking because his story sounds eerily familiar. It's very similar to what happened to her, isn't it? Your life being turned entirely upside down only a few days before ending up here, getting used to weird stuff, imagining landing here was just part of it.. That's all stuff she had been dealing with too. ]

Yeah. One big one...maybe another.

[That he may or may not be a part of now.]

And his servants, I guess.

[ His. Well, at least that means there's one difference. Especially when Ange didn't come across a whole lot of male witches back home. ]

That's so strange. Something very similar happened to me before I showed up here.

[ See, Ange? You should've bothered to listen a little more to Levi in the first place, maybe then you wouldn't have realised this so late on! ]

An entity and their servants messing with a group of people who just try to survive.

Huh...I don't know if that's common or not from here. I haven't really asked what anyone was doing before they showed up here. I wonder if everyone was involved with gods or whatever.

[entreats]

I don't think so. It's not like I've asked everyone.

[ Far from it. Ange likes to think she's the furthest thing from a social butterfly - but she has at least discussed stuff like this with some people, considering how much she does like gathering information. ]

But some people seem to come from worlds where very little weird stuff was ever going on. Not to mention that others seemed entirely surprised by my situation. I don't know if it's more than just us two, but our background definitely isn't like most people's in this place. [ Ange wonders if that actually makes it all mean more, or just mean less. It could just be coincidence, after all, though she's very struck by the similarities here on a personal level. ]

I haven't really talked to many people about their worlds.

[That'd just invite questions about his, after all.]

But I know at least some had some weird shit going on. Well, and I guess this club...though I don't know if people would consider themselves as having powers if that was just normal for their world.

[ She shrugs. ]

Yeah, it seems like for most people it's kind of normal. Or that they're at least not the only one with powers like theirs in their world. [ Scott is the founder of the club, after all, and Ange knows it's more the latter for him. He definitely isn't the only one, but people like him are still being singled out as being different, it seems. ]

From what I've heard though, they live pretty normal lives aside from the whole powers thing. Sure, sometimes they fight other people, but it's never some sort of game started by an omniscient being.

Well their were only three days that I was in Termina. I don't know how long it had been going on but I don't think it could have been that long.

[People would have checked on the town if it went dark for like a month or more.]

.. so is Termina a different place from your own world? Or is it a specific place there?

[ It does kind of sound like a place if it has a proper name and all, after all. ]

No it was a, uh, festival. The point was that only one person was able to survive, though I guess we found a different way out.

[entreats]

[ A festival, huh.

There's a moment of thought, and then: ]

Did you know about Termina before it happened? [ That could make some difference in how Ange would perceive this, after all. ] Is it a regularly known thing in your world? Or was it a total surprise for you?

[solitarysoul]

No, I don't think any of us knew about it before we were suddenly in it.

[entreats]

Okay. I thought maybe it might be some established festival where you come from, but I guess it's as much of a surprise for you as being pulled into the game I suddenly became part of was for me.

[ Another similarity then. ]

People in my world don't even know witches exist. Not until they draw you into some dumb game out of the blue, anyway.

[solitarysoul]

Yeah. I think it was supposed to have happened before, but who knows when or where.

Magic was supposed to exist in my world but most people didn't believe in it. It was just church stuff mostly.

[entreats]

[ Ange kind of thinks that at least the church stuff stayed out of it on her end, but.. ah, it did end up kind of mingling in with all the magic stuff on her end later on, huh.. ]

Sounds like you were pretty unlucky then. [ She instead says. ] You know, to have ended up in the middle of all of that. Do you think there was any particular reason why it happened to you, instead of the tons of other people who also didn't know a festival like that was going on in the first place?

[solitarysoul]

Yeah...

[He sighs.]

I don't know. Sometimes I wonder if Rher chose us and just manipulated things so we all showed up at the same time, but I don't know if that's a thing he can do. Or if I was just 'lucky.' Even if we were chosen I don't have any idea why we would be.

[entreats]

You don't think there's anything special about you at all?

[ Granted, from what she's seen, she doesn't really think there's anything that special about Levi either...

But no matter how socially awkward Ange is, she at least knows that's just too rude of a thing to say. Even when she doesn't intend it in a mean way. So she'll keep that to herself, instead throwing the question right over to him instead. ]
