TWAT club meeting mingle

Who: Scott Summers and members of TWAT (Teenagers With Abilities and Talents) Club. Or any teenager that just stops by really.
Where: Roof of the club building
What: Teenagers with abilities or maybe no real abilities hanging out on the rooftop and eating food. Talking. Doing club stuff.
Warnings: Probably none.


[Maybe you're already part of TWAT club and read the message that Scott sent out to everyone, basically stating that they're having a meeting this Saturday to just hang out and meet new members. Or you saw one of the flyers around town that mentioned about having a meeting. Either way, the meeting is held at the rooftop of the club building, so just come. No food or anything required. He's a good leader like that, yeah. Definitely.]

[Why did you come early, god.

Well, anyone that is one of those people that like to come early to events, Scott's putting you to work. Maybe it's just helping getting the food out on the tables, or bringing up chairs or tables up to the rooftop. Either way, work needs to be done and setup is still in progress, so pair up with other TWAT members or whatever to get things ready. Thanks, Scott appreciates it. Probably.

Also, if you have your own food or brought a game of some sort, that's cool. He definitely isn't going to say no. Go set that up.]

[Once the meeting starts and Scott gives some basic speech and welcoming new people to TWAT Club (in which he wasn't nervous at all shut up), people are more than welcome to just eat the pretty decent spread laid out in the tables. Stuff like chips, pizza, rice balls, ramen, probably some mixture of American and Japanese food because he's him and his girlfriend is Kotone, so yeah. There's also a little sign or note in front of the tables that states 'provided by cooking club, so join us. ✨'

Since this is a place filled with teenagers and abilities... Scott probably has encouraged people to show off their powers a little. JUST DON'T BLOW SOMETHING UP it's okay, he's talking about himself too. Of course, he's not forcing anyone to show off their powers and everything, but he sort of hopes people are feeling more comfortable to do so. That is the purpose of his club and everything.

There's also a random cornhole game set up. Don't ask.]

[Feel like being a nice person and help clean up? Nice. Scott isn't forcing anyone to stay after to do so, but he appreciates the help. It's mostly just taking tables down and clearing out the trash. Anyone that stays can probably take home some of the leftovers. So, that's a nice bonus.

Maybe you just want to sit on the ground and enjoy the evening a little. He's not judging.]

I haven't really talked to many people about their worlds.

But I know at least some had some weird shit going on. Well, and I guess this club...though I don't know if people would consider themselves as having powers if that was just normal for their world.

Yeah, it seems like for most people it's kind of normal. Or that they're at least not the only one with powers like theirs in their world. [ Scott is the founder of the club, after all, and Ange knows it's more the latter for him. He definitely isn't the only one, but people like him are still being singled out as being different, it seems. ]

From what I've heard though, they live pretty normal lives aside from the whole powers thing. Sure, sometimes they fight other people, but it's never some sort of game started by an omniscient being.

Well their were only three days that I was in Termina. I don't know how long it had been going on but I don't think it could have been that long.

[People would have checked on the town if it went dark for like a month or more.]

.. so is Termina a different place from your own world? Or is it a specific place there?

[ It does kind of sound like a place if it has a proper name and all, after all. ]

No it was a, uh, festival. The point was that only one person was able to survive, though I guess we found a different way out.

[entreats]

[ A festival, huh.

There's a moment of thought, and then: ]

Did you know about Termina before it happened? [ That could make some difference in how Ange would perceive this, after all. ] Is it a regularly known thing in your world? Or was it a total surprise for you?

No, I don't think any of us knew about it before we were suddenly in it.

[entreats]

Okay. I thought maybe it might be some established festival where you come from, but I guess it's as much of a surprise for you as being pulled into the game I suddenly became part of was for me.

[ Another similarity then. ]

People in my world don't even know witches exist. Not until they draw you into some dumb game out of the blue, anyway.

[solitarysoul]

Yeah. I think it was supposed to have happened before, but who knows when or where.

Magic was supposed to exist in my world but most people didn't believe in it. It was just church stuff mostly.

[entreats]

[ Ange kind of thinks that at least the church stuff stayed out of it on her end, but.. ah, it did end up kind of mingling in with all the magic stuff on her end later on, huh.. ]

Sounds like you were pretty unlucky then. [ She instead says. ] You know, to have ended up in the middle of all of that. Do you think there was any particular reason why it happened to you, instead of the tons of other people who also didn't know a festival like that was going on in the first place?

[solitarysoul]

Yeah...

[He sighs.]

I don't know. Sometimes I wonder if Rher chose us and just manipulated things so we all showed up at the same time, but I don't know if that's a thing he can do. Or if I was just 'lucky.' Even if we were chosen I don't have any idea why we would be.

[entreats]

You don't think there's anything special about you at all?

[ Granted, from what she's seen, she doesn't really think there's anything that special about Levi either...

But no matter how socially awkward Ange is, she at least knows that's just too rude of a thing to say. Even when she doesn't intend it in a mean way. So she'll keep that to herself, instead throwing the question right over to him instead. ]

No...I'm just, well normal people don't go through the things I did, but I don't think there's anything special about me. Or at least there wasn't before Termina. I still don't think I'm that special, though. Cursed, maybe, but not special.

[entreats]

[ She shrugs a little. ]

Cursed, special.. It's not like there's a real difference, right? Even being cursed means that you're still different from most people, considering I figure a curse usually only lands on a certain few, rather than some large group.

[solitarysoul]

I guess? But I doubt I was before Rher put me into that game.

[entreats]

That Rher must have had some reason to pick you in particular though, right? There are so many people in a world.

[ Even in Levi's world, she assumes.

Even though she knows so little about it aside from this weird festival thing. ]

She could have grabbed just anyone otherwise. The chance you get picked among all those people is so small. [ A beat, and then she adds: ] Besides, I know that in my very similar situation I was definitely picked for a reason, even though I wouldn't necessarily call myself special all the same.

[solitarysoul]

I really have no idea. Two of us were from Prehevil, but everybody else wasn't. We all had reason to travel there or travel through there but there wasn't really much we had in common. Even the ages varied, I think Marina and I at 18 were the youngest but there were some older guys.

[entreats]

Huh. Weird.

[ ... ]

You've never thought about looking into that? [ Please, Ange. Not everyone cares as much about supernatural conspiracies as you do. ]

How? It lasted three days and I immediately showed up here after it.

[entreats]

You'd be surprised what you can sometimes still find out, even when you're thrown in different circumstances entirely.

[ Sure, the chance isn't that big. She's willing to admit that.

But considering how naturally curious and nosy Ange is, she wouldn't be willing to let go of it so easily. ]

The things in charge here could be connected to either the being who put you through that, or the witches from my world who put me and my family through all sorts of crap too. That way we'd find out more about our own situations by finding out more about them.

Maybe...this place doesn't seem to be like the one I came from, though. I don't think the same powers are in charge.

[Except maybe the AI here might be a version of Logic. Multiverse stuff was weird.]

You never know when something might be related. I also was sent to a different world before, but it ended up being related to everything. Of course it doesn't have to mean this place is the same, but..

[ She shrugs a little bit. ]

This place has proven to know everything about our memories and who we are, right? Since it's shown stuff like that to us and to others at times. That might mean it also knows more about our worlds than we do.

I guess...I figure it'd be something I wouldn't understand anyway. Maybe if someone smarter from my world showed up they could figure it out, but if its just me I don't know if it matters.

[entreats]

[ Ange frowns as she looks at him. ]

Why do you think you wouldn't understand? [ Sure, Levi's words imply that it's because he thinks he's too dumb for it, but Ange doesn't just want to accept something like that. All the real idiots out there never know they're dumb. ] Wouldn't you know better about your own circumstances than anyone else here? I'm sure that you could understand it if you put your mind to it. You shouldn't give up before you've even started.

Because I wouldn't. I don't get stuff like that. Its too complex and I get confused and it all goes way over my head. I'm just the stupid guy who shots things. That's all I really know.

[Levi is of average intelligence, but due to limited schooling, low self esteem and no one ever really believing in him being able to do things he's convinced he's a moron.]

Its fine, though. I don't really need to be very smart.

[He's come to terms with it, but its still kinda depressing sometimes. Or frustrating. Though something the frustration comes from people trying to tell him he's wrong about that.]
