[open] JUNE CATCH ALL
Who: Astralin and you!
Where: Astralin's farm, Aldrip, and the tavern.
What: June catch all!
Warnings: None for now.
i.
[Astralin had been busy fending off monsters as best as he could. So, in the aftermath of everything, you can find him in the streets of Aldrip lingering around the injured citizens who approach him for help. Gladly offering his abilities, despite how muted his healing powers were. Still, it was the least he could do, since they were helpful to him during the building of his farm, and he sits at the edge of one of the benches, where the injured come up to him and point out where they're injured.
It's not hard work, and his hands glow momentarily to ease their pains and bruises. Luckily, not needing to actually touch them to heal them, but it does take more of his energy than usual. Although, he doesn't let that show, and he motions the next person to come toward him once he's finished with that particular person.
Feel free to approach him while he's healing people. He wouldn't mind the chat to keep up his literal spirit energy to heal these folks.]

[After healing a conga line of people, Astralin can be found relaxing on his farm with the animals. He's in the barn with one of the cows, and several chickens that had been spooked after the whole ordeal. Luckily, he seems to calm them down after a few peaceful moments of reassuring them with words and gentle touches to ease their nerves. Astralin himself rather tired after healing so many people at once, and at minimum power, but he'd live.
Once he manages to calm down his animals, you can now find him in the middle of the fields, where he uses his awfully large scythe to cut down any weeds that surround the fields. His eyes looking heavy, but again, he doesn't let it bother him in the slightest. It was his job to help the people, so he'd do just that. Not to mention, the fields wouldn't work themselves. He'd have to do it anyway, despite his slowly looming exhaustion.]
b.
[Alternatively, after all his hard work, he can be found at the tavern enjoying a nice beer, and a large tray of. Well. Vegetables. Since the man hardly ate meat. He looks very tired at this point, but he's enjoying his platter of vegetables, and his ale in hand.]

Yes, that is correct. A restorative spell that can heal simple bruises and fractures. I can also... Move ribs and bones around if I must, but yes. It is magic.
[He's met a number of people here who either don't have magic or do. It's an interesting concept to him, since everyone in his world was born with magic, so... He stares up at Scott, with a small smile.]
Being here, I have learned that there are those who do not have magic, and do... In my world, you are born with magic, so I found it interesting that there are people who do not have magic in their world.
no subject
[Yep, score another one for 'magic people.' Scott about expected that answer, but he's not fully able to hide his disappointment. Maybe he'll meet another mutant here one day, but guess that's not now. A small exhale leaves the young teen, but he tries to play it off, shoving his hands in his pockets while continuing to watch Astralin heal the injured.
Like, that's still cool. And really helpful. As the disappointment wears off, Scott perks up slightly, a small smile forming across his face as the formerly wounded child thanks the healer for his help.]
Yeah, there's no magic in my world. It's a totally boring, magicless place.
[Okay, not completely boring.]
no subject
Oh? No powers, or anything in particular?
[He's curious about other worlds, and he stares up at the teen with a curious look on his face. Head tilted to the side, as he speaks up once more. Surprisingly, rather chatty in his old age, despite his lingering anxieties.]
Is your world a dangerous place?
no subject
It can be, I mean there's wars and shit going on.
[A big ol' Cold War between the biggest superpowers and nukes on the horizon. Oh, and mutants, like him. Guess when he thinks about Earth in that manner, it really is sort of dangerous. Scott hopes that when he eventually returns, it's not like, fucking nuclear armageddon or anything like that. Despite his thoughts, he tries to behave casually, trying to act nonchalant about this. It's enough trying to survive high school-- and now mutant high school??]
Mostly caused by people that don't have powers. [That he knows of, at least?? Maybe the president or some other high official is secretly a mutant.] They sort of stick to old-fashioned bombing and guns, I guess.
no subject
[He has to wonder what kind of war is plaguing Scott's world at the moment. He doesn't want to ask, since he fears that it may bring up bad memories, or just. Bad vibes all around, and after all that's happened. They uh. Definitely need better vibes around here!]
That is... Most unfortunate. I suppose people cannot stop themselves from committing war crimes in any world. I do hope that all is safe where you are, at the very least.
[Speaking from experience over here, and all. It's been centuries since the last war, but in his world, there's definitely another war brewing again. He just doesn't know when.]
I did not catch your name, young one. My name is Astralin. Astralin Turnont.
no subject
[It's definitely a bummer of a topic and one that Scott doesn't really want to talk about, partly because it's a mood killer and partly because he doesn't know too much about the politics and everything going on. He'd sort of maybe be able to explain some basic things, but a lot of the details have escaped him. As such, he's glad when Astralin veers into simple introductions.
Especially so that he doesn't have to keep calling him young one!! Scott almost huffs, but he manages to respond without giving too much attitude.]
I'm Scott, Scott Summers. [......] And okay, I haven't been like, totally honest with you.
no subject
A pleasure to meet you, Scott. Our circumstances aside...
[While Expiation was a bit of a strange place, and the circumstances that brought them here aren't particularly good, he has to admit that he's met some very good people here. Scott not ringing off any alarm bells for him in particular, but he does raise an eyebrow when the man speaks that last bit.]
Oh? Would you like to tell me something?
[He can only suspect one thing, but... He'll let Scott speak for himself.]
no subject
Scott shifts slightly where he's standing, almost like he's trying to psyche himself up to tell Astralin about this. It's fine, people have been cool with him, he's been a lot more accepting about his optic blasts in general, and things are just better compared to how he felt when he first got here. Sure, a lot of people who said they would help him disappeared, but that can't be helped and he's sort of figured some things out for himself.
It's enough where he can admit his mutant ability without too many mixed feelings. Acceptance, or whatever, even if it sucks seeing everything in red.]
I have an ability-- it's not magic or anything and it's probably not good if I show it to you now, but just... wanted to throw that out there, I guess. So, my world isn't totally boring.
no subject
So, when Scott finally admits to having abilities, he has to figure as much. Although, what he doesn't get is why he had to hide it in the first place. ... Then again, he came from a world where everyone has powers, so it was a foreign feeling to him to have to hide something like that.]
I see. There is no need to hide such things; I would have accepted you regardless. You do not appear to be a malicious person, Scott, so I would have not minded in the least.
[His words are gentle, and it's said with a friendly, reassuring smile.]
However, I am curious as to what kind of powers you have. I assume, since you cannot show me, that they are more on the... Offensive side.
no subject
[He asks with no real bite. But geez, why is everyone here so nice. Just. Blatant acceptance even before he even mentions his optic blasts and Scott has a feeling his mind won't change even after finding about his destructive powers. It's not like people have been god awful to him back home, but it's still a bit overwhelming to not only have people here accept him without batting an eye, but also try to help him.
He still remembers some of the other mutants back at Xavier's being afraid of him. And Jean, mostly Jean.]
Yeah, you're right. [Dude's pretty astute, isn't he?] I think I'd scare half your line away... since I shoot optic blasts.
[Uncontrollable optic blasts, which is sort of the main issue.]
no subject
[I mean, he's not wrong. Astralin wouldn't care if he shot optic blasts, or summoned meteors out of the sky. Scott seemed like a fairly normal teenager, powers aside. He would treat him as a respected human being, because. Well. That's what Astralin does. He's never judged anyone, really, and even as Scott describes his powers, he can't help but laugh.]
What an interesting power. One that I would be eager to see in action, should the time arise and you are comfortable with the idea. ... Of course, I do hope that we do not have to see any fighting again. The aftermath left so many injuries...
[He sighs, and the line moves forward with the next child having a broken bone. This particular trick he uses a particularly odd one, considering he's visibly moving the bone back into place.]
You need not worry about your powers here, however. You are in good company... I too, have more powers that I have not shown here.
no subject
[Scott says, almost lamely, but guess it's good that he doesn't set off people's alarm bells. It's not like he wants to go around town with everyone thinking he's some dangerous freak-- right, he told Dazai that he's not going to call himself that anymore. He doesn't want to anyway, most of the time.
Astralin's reaction to this powers is pretty muted though. Scott almost wants to huff, but guess magic dude has seen weirder crap. Or maybe he'd be more surprised if he shot them out in front of him. Seeing is believing? Or more interesting. His nose scrunches though when he sees him healing the next child-- the bone moving correctly back into where it should be. You know, maybe that's why he's just pretty accepting about weird things.]
Are they uncontrollable destructive powers?
[Shit uhhh he gave himself away, hasn't he? Well, too late now.]
no subject
Hm... It depends. My powers... Could destroy a forest or two if I so choose. Of course, ah. There is no need for deforestation in my world, so I do not need to use my destructive power. But the power in question is called 'spirit magic', which is purely raw energy at it's core.
[Looks like they're two peas in a pod!!]
... I am assuming your powers are destructive then?
no subject
Pure raw energy though... maybe he'd actually be able to give some insight about his mutant powers? It sounds like he can control his abilities, so it seems like a good idea to ask him at some point. Scott bites his lip, almost wanting to ask immediately, but he decides to back down and go with some attitude first--]
The whole 'optic blats' didn't give it away? No, they don't shoot healing blasts.
no subject
[YOU NEVER KNOW!! But true enough, lasers coming from his eyes were definitely of the destructive kind. Not that he judged the young man for having such power. From the looks of it, it sounds like he wasn't really happy with his powers, which. Fair enough. But still, he didn't want to assume, so he prods just a bit more. Ever the caring father figure, with children of his own back home.]
I... Assume that you do not wish for this power. Or perhaps... It is something else?
[He has an open channel for Scott, should he want to pursue asking him his next question.]
no subject
[He makes a few hand motions that ultimately equate to nothing, just feeling the need to express how he feels with more than just words. But eventually Scott sighs and lets his hands drop by his sides before staring off to the side, portraying a rather decent picture of a moody teenager.]
It's a part of me. I know that. [He kind of wants to try and learn more about his powers so that he can help better next time. The memory of helping Alphen during the fight is still fresh in his mind, although it also battles a couple of other things he doesn't want to really talk about.]
So, trying to be better about... all of it.
