1 - Early morning

[It's very early in the morning when a series of loud sounds of a gun firing can be heard at the Orchards. Some people wake up and go for a jog as a first thing in the morning: Akechi, however, decides to use his time to do some shooting practice with his handgun. He's gathered empty cans and bottles and what have you, placed them on top of the fence, using them as his makeshift targets for his practice.

He's located rather close to the infamous statues. And whoever decides to approach them will notice that two of the statues have taken a quite bit of damage. There's almost completely demolished statue on top of platform reading: "Goro Akechi, the Saviour of the Aldrip". The another statue that has gone through some remodeling is the one belonging certain Osamu Dazai. The said statue is actually in pretty OK condition, if you didn't count on the missing head.

Oh well! If that certain Radio Show is to be believed the locals would repair the statues the next day so, who cares.]

2 - It's Called Fashion

[One thing that modern people take granted for is a wardrobe of clean clothes. It had been February in Akechi's world when he had arrived here, leaving him with rather ill-suited outfit for Aldrip's climate. So, he's slowly been collecting himself a new set of clothes after getting paid for helping around the locals with their matters... Matters, which often seemed require someone to do some light, casual "detective" work for them.

With a thermos full of fresh coffee in hand, Akechi's going through the shops at the downtown, checking out the clothing available and hoping to find something that did not scream late 19th Century couture. It's just then when his eyes land on rather... eerily familiar outfit on display window]

--What?! [He lets out an involuntary shriek and drops the thermos, spilling coffee on the ground. His eyes are wide and perplexed, faint shade of red spreading over his face. Look, he's not embarrassed. Just shocked that's all.]

3 - Leopard Can't Change Its Spots

[So.. Goro Akechi had been very satisfied to bury the famous Detective Prince and leave that line of work behind him. And yet, here he was, accepting work from the locals and helping with their everyday troubles. Their issues hardly hold a candle to the crimes he'd solve back in his own world. After all, he had been more familiar with the uglier side of society and working with the violent crimes. (Okay, he might've been the true perpetrator in most of those but shhh..)

But still, the work kept him busy and it'd be to lie that he didn't find any satisfaction solving the cases. No matter how mundane they were.

He's currently sitting in one of the coffee shops, a fresh cup of coffee in front of him and going through the notes about the current case he's working on. Something about local jewelry shopkeeper finding that some of his products were missing and replaced with replicas of sorts. Akechi honestly suspected that it was the nephew he kept as a worker there behind the crime but so far there wasn't any solid proof.]

Hmm, I see. [He hums thoughtfully.] That is quite peculiar, human eyes are very sensitive to light. I wonder if your ability makes your eyes resistant to sun, too.

[Yes, the nerd is strong with this one. But this is a power that Akechi has never seen before, not even in metaverse. It's like something out of your sci-fi manga, so he really can not be interested in the science behind it.]

Can you cut through everything or do you have some limitations?

[...Huh. He's never thought about his eyes being resistant to the sun. Maybe he should test that out at some point, just pull off his shades and stare directly at it ~~like an idiot~~. What's the harm??]

I haven't really... tested it out much. [There was the bathroom door that his beams didn't cut through, but Scott is pretty sure that he'd blast it into bits now that his powers have grown. Or at least, not just recently emerged.

Scott buries his hands in his pockets and tries to shrug almost casually, but it's clear that he's feeling a little more awkward about this.] I probably can't shoot through a mountain.

[Akechi's giving very unimpressed look now. Because what are you, an idiot?]

You have all this power and haven't tested out the limits of it? [That's.. just incredibly weird to him. When Akechi awoke to his own powers he was sure to test them out right away. To see just how far he could push himself and how he could utilize his new abilities the best to serve his cause.]

That is foolish.

[Scott bristles when he hears the admonishment from the other teen. Who the hell asked him?? Never mind the fact that Professor Xavier has also told him that the first step in understanding one's own power is knowing the extent of it-- this guy doesn't have to know that he's sort of right!!]

I'm not going to start blasting through all the buildings in the village just to test out my limits. I'd get kicked out.

[Or thrown in jail. He doesn't want to end up there!! They probably serve crappy food and everything.]

[The anger and frustration are so clear on the other one's face that Akechi can't help but smile even more -- giving the other the prime example of Shit Eating Grin. Oh dear. This one kind of reminds him from another hot-heated teen he (unfortunately) knew from home. Sakamato was always so open with his emotions, especially with anger.]

No one is talking about blasting through the buildings, idiot. There are woods crawling with monsters. Oh! And then there's Lorentia Caves, that could be a fruitful place for you to test out your strength. I heard there's even dragons there.

[Is it starting to sound like he's just making Scott a local pest control??]

[Scott has half a mind to take off his glasses and blast this guy in the face, but that anger fueled thought only lasts a second, because he really doesn't want to hurt anyone, not even this asshole. Even if that smile on his face is really grating and begging to be wiped off, he's not going to use his mutant powers.

He folds his arms and scowls at him, not even considering Akechi's suggestions in a serious manner.]

I'm not about to pick a fight with dragons, are you kidding? [What the hell??] And look, genius, what if I start blasting a bunch of monsters and they don't die? They're going to chase me and maybe attack this stupid place in retaliation.

[Maybe he'll lead them to the other teen and Scott won't feel too bad about that.]

So you prefer staying ignorant to your abilities and continue living in the fear of them?

[Because that's what it really looks like to him. All the teenage angst and self-depreciation and whatnot. Classic signs.] You realize that is the fastest way to actually hurt yourself and others. As long as the powers rule you rather than other way around you truly are the King of Freaks.

[Do it like Elsa and let it go, Scott.]

That's not what I said--

[But Akechi hit things right on the head and it sort of pisses him off?? He hates that he's right, he hates that he doesn't have a good comeback, and to add insult to injury, he knows about his anger fueled message he made upon arriving here. The mutant feels his cheeks warming up, either due to anger or embarrassment. Maybe both.]

I didn't ask for your advice anyway! What the hell would you know?!

[He doesn't see uncontrollable powers coming from this guy!!]

[Oh, yeah. This guy definitely is like a diet version of Ryuji Sakamoto. Just as easy to rile up. He chuckles quietly to himself while watching that outburst.]

You're right. I wouldn't know because the first thing I did when waking up to my powers was to learn how to control them. [Granted, his powers were completely different to Scott's. No laser beams from his eyes. However, that didn't mean that learning to control his brain demons was any easier.]

[His anger's still there, just slightly diminished by his growing surprise, because really? Asshole over here also has powers? Maybe he's just making fun of him, but Scott doesn't immediately jump to that conclusion. His face is still petulant, however, his eyes narrowing just slightly behind his shades.]

Yeah? And kind of powers do you have?

[There's a brief moment when Akechi considers what to tell him, if anything at all. He doesn't really want to go and explain the concept of Personas and cognitive world, especially since he really doubts that this guy has read Jung's psychoanalysis. But still... He kinda does want to mess with him more.]

The Call of Chaos. [His smirk just widens, gaining a little of that manic glee he always feels when using the power. It was his power, something that no one else could do.] I have the power to break the chains within person's heart, make them embrace the madness within and connect with their primal desire for violence and destruction.

[..........]

[God, what sort of reply is that? Maybe a power like that exists, because Scott's willing to admit that weird abilities can exist, but what the hell still?? He continues to have his arms crossed, pulling up whatever courage and misplaced arrogance he has before eyeing him with an unimpressed look.]

Use it then.

[Baiting this guy isn't the smartest idea he's had but.]

[Well, Scott is right. He's full of shit but about this he's actually being honest. A little bit of information that he hasn't shared with anyone, so enjoy your privilege??

But then the dare comes and Akechi's expression shifts a little. Oh, how he wishes he could just bust Loki out at this damn place but alas.]

I can't. My powers have been locked away by this place. So I guess you'll never know whether I'm being serious or not.

Right.

[Scott's not sure why his powers are locked away, assuming he isn't full of shit, but he can't fully stop the ping of jealousy that courses through him, although he does his best to shove that feeling aside. Being able to see in color again and not worry about hurting people around him sounds nice, but there's no frickin' way he's going to even hint about having that sort of emotion in front of him.

So, he might as well cover all that by being a shit--]

Haven't really met anyone until now that got their powers locked away. Guess you really suck.

[Oh, Scott. Akechi here would change places with you any day. He hates being stuck here all weak and vulnerable, having his true power and important part of self locked away. Which is really why the other teens whining and moaning about the unfairness of the world and what not Really pisses him off. Akechi has learned to know the cruelty on a very intimate level and found a way to cope. Mainly thanks to his unique power.]

There were already certain... Conditions that needed to match for me to use my power. Same goes for everyone else from my world.

[He doesn't get it, but Scott's slowly getting the feeling that he's actually not fabricating all this, at least when it comes to having powers (unless he's really dedicated to the lie, which possible). Still, if he can't access them, then it doesn't really matter, does it?

But also, he's sort of curious, and Scott's attitude shifts just slightly, where he's still sounding a bit dismissive, but there's an obvious interest as well.]

Yeah? And what's that?
