[Everything had been normal by the standards of this place. Sora had just been making her way back to the inn after picking up snacks, hugging a large paper bag to her chest. Her legs awkwardly scrambling as she tried to keep her balance.

But her feet couldn't find any grip. She just kept sliding... Sliding and making strange whimpering noise. Not her groceries! ]

She wants to go back to the ice level...
[Maybe sliding around wasn't so bad.

That was very much Sora's line of thinking. When after she'd finally gotten home, packed her shopping away, sat down and....fell through the world? She didn't have time to scream as she started falling through the void.

Oh wait. Did she just jump back up? Nevermind, falling again.

She looked around.]

Oh, hello. [At least someone else was floating around too.] Um...Do you know what's happening?

[Sora had never been great about confrontation. The locals' sudden change in behavior had made her uneasy. The morning had started normal, she'd been running around the park and had seen a man who she'd normally pass as he went to pick up a paper. She'd wished him good morning and had paused to wave.

Only for him to scowl, turn away and start storming off.

Most would have probably left him be at that point. Sora though? She didn't like leaving things. So she'd stopped her run and instead, decided to jog up to him. Asking her question.

That just seemed like the easiest way to solve the problem, didn't it? Asking what they'd done didn't feel awkward to her.

It did for the NPC though. He just made a face, shifted like he was about to say something.

Then he turned again and just started walking.

People who knew Sora might have noticed the change in her demeanor at that point. The gritted teeth, the clenched fists, how her brow furrowed. Then she summoned her gauntlets. Then she lunged forward, sending up gusts of wind to send the man flying.

...He was fine. Probably. He got thrown into a bush.

And Sora had lifted her head, slowly turning to the next nearest person, tears in her eyes. Even as the master core of her gauntlets started generating more wind.]

[She was still sliding, slower now he was countering it. Sora gave an uneasy laugh.]

I'm not sure. Everything was fine, then I stepped in the park and just....started sliding around?

[It was really weird. She shifted though, shoving her bag at him....Though that pushed her body away.]

Can you take this? I just brought eggs. [The last part came out rapidly as she started to panic.]

Oh sure, eggs are important!

[He takes the grocery bag - but he quickly realizes the flaw in letting go of her as she starts sliding back]

Wait, don't go away yet! [He hurries towards her, to try to hold onto her with one hand while he carries the groceries in the other arm.] Man this thing has got you bad! What, were they playing a game of 'the floor is ice?'?

[Plz, it's fine as long as her food is safe. She hated wasting food, it was tasty... She'd scratch her face, but she had her arms out for balance.]

I don't know. It reminds me of those block-pushing puzzles... These things keep happening here.

Um, I'm still staying at the inn...And my room is upstairs...

[He frowns thoughtfully as he thinks about it. It really feels like this sliding will cause trouble no matter what.]

Maybe I could try teleporting you. Maybe that can help you get around!

[That made her look away because...teleporting. The last time hadn't been fun.]

...How exactly does your teleporting work?

[Because that could go horribly.]

Well it technically involves me moving through another dimension, but it happens so fast that no one can notice. Basically it can bring me and anyone I'm touching directly from Point A to Point B. Two miles is my hard limit, but I try to focus on teleporting to places I can see!

....[A whole lot of those words went straight over her head. Sora brought up her hand, holding it up for a second, rested it against her chin.]

Aren't our home places another dimension to this place?

[And here he thought he was the one who had trouble understanding a lot of concepts... But then, he is talking about something he's lived with his whole life.]

Yeah, or so it seems. But I can't just teleport to other dimensions like that. My teleportation just pulls us through one specific dimension that's different from the one I came from. [He rubs his head and chuckles.] Maybe it'd be easier to just not mention the dimension part to begin with!

[STARING... her mouth falling open slightly. Then there was a little nod. Then she looked at the ground.]

Yeah... That stuff is confusing. As long as you're...like just running really fast, it should be okay.

Right, yeah. Just don't think too much about it! [He chuckles.] Here, let's test it out with a short jump!

[With a hand trying to hold her steady, he teleports the two of them further down the sidewalk! And the momentum remains the same as it was when he was standing still.]

There! See, that wasn't that bad, right?

[Enjoy another squeak as she clung on. The last time she'd gone through a portal or teleport, it'd felt like the whole world was spinning and folding in on it's self.

But...

This was fine. So for a few seconds she just stood there blinking, then looking around to check they'd actually moved.]

Huh....

[Kinda underwhelming really.]

[Rude!! ...Although he'll definitely take a muted reaction over someone panicking or getting sick.]

It sounds like it really wasn't bad! [Or much of anything really. Still, he gives an encouraging smile.] Now I'm sure we'll be good getting up the stairs this way! We just gotta get back to the inn now.

[She was just expecting something more flashy. But she gave him a little nod, then a smile.]

I wish teleporting worked like that back home. [A lot less disorientating. Then she pursed her lips, frowning at him.] Will the stairs be harder? I could just sit at the bottom of them...

It's the only way to travel. [He jokes with a little smirk.]

Trust me, the stairs will be no problem! I can teleport up, down, pretty much in any direction without problems. It does help if I can see where I'm going, but I feel like we won't have to worry about that with the stairs. Trust me, Sora. We got this!

[He tries to assure her with a wink and a thumbs up.]
