[training mingle] Let's get down the business!

Who: Everyone out there!
Where: Outskirts of the Aldrip - Training Grounds
What: It's time for the Boot(y) Camp! The Chosen of Aldrip have all been invited to train, learn and spar!
Warnings: Other than the general violence? TBA..!

It is early morning on the 9th of September. The sun is shining, the air is fresh and nicely brisk, which means that it is just perfect time for Aldrip's first ever group training! How did you find your way there? Who knows! Maybe you were one of the people who saw the original announcement on the network, or noticed posters about it around Adlrip. Or maybe you were brought here by friendly white boar. Well, whatever the reason is what matters is that you are here. Welcome.

The empty field near the outskirts of the City has been transformed into a makeshift training camp. There are couple of tents set up around the camp. Some of them work as rather simplified armories containing pretty limited amount of blades, axes, armors, firearms, bows and arrows and what have you. Feel free to pick your poison, so to speak, but be sure to return what you borrow. Richard is keeping an eye on the weapons and will notice if something goes missing. Of course, characters are more than welcomed to use their own weapons and armors etc. Other tents are for resting, ER practice and dining. The lunch is sponsored by the Sandwich Hut.

The official training areas and their respective teachers/staff are the following:

Spiritual training/magic: Kurama, Douman, Kakashi
First-aid: Ethlyn, Morph, Bones
Rescue training: Morph, Bones
Hand-to-hand combat: Jirk Jim & Spock, Kakashi
Tech support: Jirk Jim & Spock
Fire arms: Caitlyn, Levi
Swords & Melee: Richard, Hiei
Archery: Richard
Survival skills: Richard, Kurama
Military training: Jim & Spock, Miller, Richard
Endurance training: Bones
Lunch: Junpei (and Whitey the Albino Boar)

If there is an activity a character would like to do that isn't included in the list that's no problem. Feel free to create your own top-level with said activity or you know! Just the usual stuff that varies from silly hang-out to whatever your heart desires.

Also for references sake: here is the OG ooc info post about regarding the mingle

Look, I'm not saying it doesn't happen sometimes with modern medicine, but we have much better ways of saving limbs now! While we're here it's better to wait and see what a doctor can do before, uh, worrying about dead weight.

[Morph finally rests back on the ground, more or less placated that Richard wasn't going to try cutting off their legs just to make dragging them around easier.]

So, moving someone is easier if you have a buddy. When you're on your own, there's a few things to remember. Don't do a bridal carry! It's very romantic, but you can't see your own feet and it's an easy way to trip. Grabbing someone under the arms and dragging them along with you works as long as you're not worried about what's behind you. Or if you have a blanket, you can roll the victim into that and use it to drag them along a lot easier.

If you need to outright carry someone... if the victim's conscious, there's one called a pack strap carry. You get the victim's arms over your shoulders, cross their arms over your chest, and hold onto their wrists as you lift them up by leaning forward. It can be uncomfortable, but that one might work the best for you.

[Since Richard has such a thin build, Morph didn't think the actual firefighter carry would work out for him. Hoisting a bigger person over your shoulders usually didn't end well.]

[Morph didn't miss the resulting chill to Richard's demeanor, but they also didn't have a clue what had prompted it. Had they just said too much to keep up with? It was hard to give a quick primer about something that Morph had learned over a couple of weeks, and then reinforced with a lot of repetition. Being in a teaching role wasn't what Morph was used to, even if they'd been told once that they might be good at it.]

Great! Show me what you got.

[Morph remains limp, letting Richard move them around as he wanted. Hopefully it wouldn't be too awkward that they were conscious, but being in the victim position was a great way to give pointers. Half of this stuff was making sure the rescuer wouldn't throw their back out in the process, so Morph is content to let him do it at his own pace.]
