[training mingle] Let's get down the business!
Who: Everyone out there!
Where: Outskirts of the Aldrip - Training Grounds
What: It's time for the Boot(y) Camp! The Chosen of Aldrip have all been invited to train, learn and spar!
Warnings: Other than the general violence? TBA..!
It is early morning on the 9th of September. The sun is shining, the air is fresh and nicely brisk, which means that it is just perfect time for Aldrip's first ever group training! How did you find your way there? Who knows! Maybe you were one of the people who saw the original announcement on the network, or noticed posters about it around Adlrip. Or maybe you were brought here by friendly white boar. Well, whatever the reason is what matters is that you are here. Welcome.
The empty field near the outskirts of the City has been transformed into a makeshift training camp. There are couple of tents set up around the camp. Some of them work as rather simplified armories containing pretty limited amount of blades, axes, armors, firearms, bows and arrows and what have you. Feel free to pick your poison, so to speak, but be sure to return what you borrow. Richard is keeping an eye on the weapons and will notice if something goes missing. Of course, characters are more than welcomed to use their own weapons and armors etc. Other tents are for resting, ER practice and dining. The lunch is sponsored by the Sandwich Hut.
The official training areas and their respective teachers/staff are the following:
Spiritual training/magic: Kurama, Douman, Kakashi
First-aid: Ethlyn, Morph, Bones
Rescue training: Morph, Bones
Hand-to-hand combat:Jirk Jim & Spock, Kakashi
Tech support:Jirk Jim & Spock
Fire arms: Caitlyn, Levi
Swords & Melee: Richard, Hiei
Archery: Richard
Survival skills: Richard, Kurama
Military training: Jim & Spock, Miller, Richard
Endurance training: Bones
Lunch: Junpei (and Whitey the Albino Boar)
If there is an activity a character would like to do that isn't included in the list that's no problem. Feel free to create your own top-level with said activity or you know! Just the usual stuff that varies from silly hang-out to whatever your heart desires.
Also for references sake: here is the OG ooc info post about regarding the mingle

I can control it... At least I think I can anyway. From what I was told it comes naturally, because it's a part of me. [She frowned, then slumped again.] A lot happened in one school term.
no subject
Scott decides to put a small pause on asking her more about that, because she's talking about control and natural powers and that's always a big thing for him.]
Speaking from experience, just because a power is a part of you, doesn't mean that you can control it. [Granted, she does seem to have control, but maybe there's more to it.]
no subject
I don't know anyone who can't control it. Yuu-kun isn't very good at athletics, but he doesn't have any trouble with his mallet. And there's senpai's chain sword... [Then she flinched slightly, realizing something.]
Oh, there's the angel greed... But I guess that was kind of the opposite. [Sora, really wasn't helping.]
no subject
[He remarks, unable to and honestly not wanting to hide the dryness from his voice. Yeah, so what, he can still be a shit to people about this sort of thing, even if it's important to him.]
But, really. Even if most people can control it, doesn't mean everyone can. At that point, you just try and learn the extent of your powers, control what you can, and do what you can from there.
no subject
But I know what I can do. Mostly....
no subject
As such, Scott nods at her, his tone encouraging.]
'Mostly' isn't everything. [...] We're training, right? Show off what you can do, besides punching of course.
no subject
But for now, she was scratching her cheek.]
Well you see, I'm not really sure how. I've only used them in fights, so I'm not sure what do as training...
no subject
[Blah blah learning the extent of one's power. Adopting some Charles Xavier wisdom now, even though he only knew the guy for like a day. At least she's able to control her powers on a basic level so far.]
Like, do you know what sort of material can still block your punches? That's important to figure out.
no subject
Um...Other Soul Devices and some eclipse materials can block it. I can break through walls and stuff pretty easily.
[...That wasn't concerning at all.]
no subject
Hm, he wonders if she could block his optic blasts. It would be interesting to see, but it might be too dangerous to test out. Be easier if he had a visor to better control the output of his powers.]
Care to explain what an eclipse material is?
no subject
[She really didn't get how it worked. She'd seen Mayu working on things and how she'd managed to merge a feather with metal to make a sword.]
One time, a group used a plant from there to make drugs that made people more aggressive.
no subject
He definitely looks a little confused by that answer, but he's trying.]
So, it's not just one single material or substance. It's just anything from that place known as 'Eclipse.' Is it another planet??
no subject
It's a bit like this place really. There was our world, then another reality and where they overlap is the Eclipse?
[She was making some kinda motion with her hands, layering them above one another. As if that would help. Then she glanced at him. Plz understand.]
no subject
So, he nods. Probably helps that he spent over a year here to get used to different worlds and multiverses and all that.]
Yeah, sure. Got it. [Mostly, anyway.] But okay, so with the exception of these materials from the eclipse, you can break through anything.
[He look around for a moment and there, a rather large tree nearby the training grounds.] So, you can punch that tree down?
no subject
... Maybe she reconsider her job options when she gets home.
At his first comment she gave a small nod, a little 'yep'. At his second, she paused....her arms hanging at her sides.]
But that would kill the tree...
[Nooooooo]
no subject
He really wants to see Sora punch a tree down.]
It's fine, there are a lot of trees. Besides, it's basically the law for every teen that has powers to knock down a tree. I did so. Think of it as an unspoken test.
no subject
Sora dithered. Looking between Scott and the chosen floral sacrifice, making a slight whining noise.
She was going to mention not hearing about that law, but he'd said it was unspoken?]
Um, can we plant two trees later?
[Then she'd feel less bad. Even if it was a tradition.]
no subject
Yeah yeah, we'll do that later.
[He waves a hand half-heartedly. He'll help plant trees with her if she's really that adamant about it, but right now, it's time to test powers. See what other teens are capable of, the type of abilities they can control.]
no subject
Sora gave the tree a small bow, brining her hands up to make a small pray.]
Sorry...
[Then she got to it, she took a breath. Breathing deeply, moving through her warm-up stances, summoning her soul device. The core of it shimmered, starting to crackle and then she lunged, lashing out at the tree's trunk...
It exploded. The lightning burst out in an arc where her fist made contact. Burning the tree as electricity flowed through it. Then there was the wind that tore into what remained.
So yes, that tree was very dead. It creaked, starting to fall towards other trees and snapping branches.
Sora just dismissed her device, dusted her skirt off and turned to stare at Scott. Her cheeks flushing.]
T-that was a lot softer than rock...
no subject
Still, Scott's pretty impressed with how she knocked that tree down. He mostly expected the impact of her glove to just knock it over, something similar to Mikey's super strength. It wasn't just that though, but a show of lightning and wind that tore into it, weakening its very foundation until it toppled over in a heap. Yeah, he wouldn't want to be punched by something like that.
He smiles at her when she looks back, hands clapping and giving Sora a small whistle.]
Pretty strong. Have to hand it to you.
no subject
That said, she still managed a slight giggle and bow to Scott.]
Thank you, but I still have a long way to go. I'm not good at stuff that isn't close-range.
no subject
Well, luckily for you, I'm sort of an expert at long-range. I can help you train with that.
[How that training will look? Scott isn't quite sure yet, but he figures to offer the idea to Sora because he's on board with it. He constantly wants to get better and stronger, for his friends, for the X-Men. He's learned long ago that the world is much bigger than he originally thought, even after he got his powers.]
no subject
Right! Thank you very much. My senpai didn't really have time to practise that stuff.
