[training mingle] Let's get down the business!

Who: Everyone out there!
Where: Outskirts of the Aldrip - Training Grounds
What: It's time for the Boot(y) Camp! The Chosen of Aldrip have all been invited to train, learn and spar!
Warnings: Other than the general violence? TBA..!

It is early morning on the 9th of September. The sun is shining, the air is fresh and nicely brisk, which means that it is just perfect time for Aldrip's first ever group training! How did you find your way there? Who knows! Maybe you were one of the people who saw the original announcement on the network, or noticed posters about it around Adlrip. Or maybe you were brought here by friendly white boar. Well, whatever the reason is what matters is that you are here. Welcome.

The empty field near the outskirts of the City has been transformed into a makeshift training camp. There are couple of tents set up around the camp. Some of them work as rather simplified armories containing pretty limited amount of blades, axes, armors, firearms, bows and arrows and what have you. Feel free to pick your poison, so to speak, but be sure to return what you borrow. Richard is keeping an eye on the weapons and will notice if something goes missing. Of course, characters are more than welcomed to use their own weapons and armors etc. Other tents are for resting, ER practice and dining. The lunch is sponsored by the Sandwich Hut.

The official training areas and their respective teachers/staff are the following:

Spiritual training/magic: Kurama, Douman, Kakashi
First-aid: Ethlyn, Morph, Bones
Rescue training: Morph, Bones
Hand-to-hand combat: Jirk Jim & Spock, Kakashi
Tech support: Jirk Jim & Spock
Fire arms: Caitlyn, Levi
Swords & Melee: Richard, Hiei
Archery: Richard
Survival skills: Richard, Kurama
Military training: Jim & Spock, Miller, Richard
Endurance training: Bones
Lunch: Junpei (and Whitey the Albino Boar)

If there is an activity a character would like to do that isn't included in the list that's no problem. Feel free to create your own top-level with said activity or you know! Just the usual stuff that varies from silly hang-out to whatever your heart desires.

Also for references sake: here is the OG ooc info post about regarding the mingle

While Levi'd set up a row of targets that wasn't really the main focus of the training he was offering. He'd brought out a table and had laid a variety of guns out on it. Mostly hand guns of different sizes, but a couple rifles and shotguns as well. Nothing too fancy. They were all unloaded, the ammunition kept in a bag on his belt so there wouldn't be any accidental shootings.

Letting the students get a feel for the weapons was the first step. He'd steer students to the guns with less power and recoil, but if someone was dead set on trying the few stronger ones he had out he wouldn't stop them. (But he might say 'I told you so' later.)
After that came specific safety lessons on how to handle a gun, then coaching of the right way to hold one. After he was sure someone wasn't going to go wild then they'd get a chance at shooting the targets.

He also had a smaller table set up to show people how to go through cleaning and maintenance of the weapons. He wouldn't be doing his duty as a trainer if he didn't make sure they knew how to take care of the firearm as well.

The firearms were mostly gathered from the armories but a few were Levi's personal weapons. None were free to take away from the lesson site, but if someone brought their own he'd offer training with it.

The normal meek air he has around him wasn't quite present here. He wasn't quite in soldiering mode, but this was serious and official business he'd done in the past. It was easy to slip into that mood again.

Caitlyn had arrived early to help with setup, knowing it would take some time. Between the targets, and the amount of weapons Levi was able to acquire, they would need several tables and plenty of space. But once everything was set up? Caitlyn scanned over their stations and nodded contently.

"I think that'll do. One area for teaching the weapons, one area for maintenance, and one area for practice. We can switch and rotate where we are, based on how many people are here at the time. Unless you have a preference?"

She honestly didn't care, one way or another. While it wasn't something she was super familiar with, she didn't mind the hands on education part. She had taught gun usage to people here before, but it wasn't exactly something she had done routinely before her arrival to Aldrip.

Levi appreciated the help, both in the set up and in the training. He wasn't sure how many people would be interested in this but with more people teaching the students would get a more personal experience. Some people needed more help with one thing or another, after all.

He nods, "Yeah, it looks good. I don't really have a preference where to start. Its been awhile since I did any training like this but its all kind of basic." Says the guy who's skill set was guns and also guns. "I don't know how we're doing this...you think we're waiting for a bunch of people for a class or just helping people as they come up? We can just alternate if its more of a one-on-one thing."

There's always been a few people interested, the few times that she's done something like this. This is probably the most official out of all the times, though. Before, it's just been a casual conversation and sharing of knowledge with curious onlookers, but this? This was intentionally geared at teaching others. Definitely a little more intimidating, but she was up for the challenge.

"We can see how much interest we get, and go from there? If it's a lot of people, it wouldn't hurt to do more of a group lesson. But if only a few people come through at a time, we can just plan to alternate as needed."

"That sounds good. Probably the best way to handle it. At least unless something changes, but this should all be casual from what I understand."
