I work every night and report to him. The building being cold isn't really a reason for alarm.

[Unless it gets snowed in or something, he guesses.]

Maybe. But you can catch a cold, and that's something we don't want to happen. We want you to stay healthy and... as happy as you can be here.

Meh. A cold isn't much. I'll be fine.

[He never had time to slow down cause he was sick before.]

You're pretty tough, you know. Has anyone told you that?

[ regardless that she pokes fun at him from time to time, she does admire the soldier in him. it's something the two of them have in common. even though the people in her corner detest the idea of her viewing herself that way. ]

[He doesn't really think of himself as tough, but he does think of himself as a survivor. That was kind of the same thing, he guesses.]

Sheesh, you could at least sound more enthusiastic than that.

[ oops, breaking character just a wee bit, but she couldn't help herself with a response like that. but maybe he won't notice she is jinx with that little slip up. anyway, she kneels down to her little wagon to straighten out a few items as a prep to getting ready to hit the road again. ]
