Oh, don't get me wrong! I don't think it was an overreaction on your part.
[ The girl hums to herself as she summons a large sheet of silk by pulling it directly from the ring on her finer. She moves closer to the burnt corpse and covers it with the cloth in what may seem like an attempt to give Scott some temporary peace of mind. In reality, her curse magic is already working on making it rot away. While there are still witnesses, getting rid of the body should help throw off anyone who might be investigating and trying to keep the tabs on the numbers of players on each side. ]
In the end, that's only fair, no? An eye for an eye is one of the oldest laws in humanity's history.
[ And a perfect reflection of the nature of their species as a whole... it's not hard to wonder if there isn't a better way to exist, especially when she's aware of how much their emotional failings have been taken advantage of by Incubators in her world. Who knows, perhaps the Gnos might have a better idea of how to handle things...? ]

He doesn't know how to sort of any this.
He's not sure if being left alone with his thoughts is any better. Maybe that's the only reason why he responds to her at all.]
N-No, I didn't... I didn't want this.
[He weakly protests, the words feeling false and tasteless in his mouth. But. It's true, right? He... he didn't want this to happen. Scott pulls Kotone's body just a little closer to him, as if to hide her listless eyes from Ryoji's corpse-- which Mitama has now covered. There's a spot of gratitude in his chest seeing that, but Scott's unable to say much.]

But Gnos is. So perhaps, this sacrifice will not be in vain after all... ]
... I know.
[ She says slowly, her expression pensive and somewhat melancholic. While she herself might choose to believe there might be some point to this suffering, she knows better than to try and convince Scott of that right now ─ the boy needs time to grieve, and to process everything that's happened. She'd be more than happy to grant him that, though the fact they're still players in this "game" makes her wonder if there's even a point to that...
The girl shakes her head slowly, taking a few steps to close the distance between her and Scott, and places her hands on his shoulders. ]
Once you've had the time to think about it, to really reflect on what happened and what you wish to do... it's easy to be rational and level-headed then, but in the heat of the moment... it's only natural to act purely on our impulses and emotions.

He glitched, right?
Then he was another Scott, but he felt everything-- and then there was further dissociation when that fire started blazing around him. Then there was burning and the mutant shudders, eyes clenching behind his eyes as he tries to keep himself under some control. His shoulders shake underneath her hands and he shakes his head, trying desperately to explain himself but not feeling fully right about it either.]
.....Mitama, I... I really wanted to heal him. I was going to. Please, believe me...
[He was really going to heal him, he is pretty sure about at least? He was so upset and a small part of him wanted to hurt Ryoji, but... he wanted to do the right thing.]

[ She means what she says ─ Scott is righteous to a fault, and it's not difficult to imagine him extending his hand to an enemy, even after they hurt him, if he believes it's the right thing to do. But unfortunately for him, he's still very much only a human, even with all his amazing abilities. Mitama squeezes his shoulders lightly, perhaps in an attempt to reassure him... or maybe to drive her next point further. ]
You wanted to heal him. To save him. To help him. [ She makes a small pause, and then continues: ] And you wanted to hurt him, make him feel the same pain he inflicted upon Kotone-chan and yourself. To kill him.
[ While her tone has grown more serious, it's also oddly even, as if she's talking about having color or food preferences rather than wanting to take a life. And really, are those two so different? Both are very distinctively human. ]
As conflicting and mutually exclusive those feelings may be, they're still a part of you. No one can blame you for acting on your instincts.

But... it's not just that.
He desperately shakes his head.]
N-No, I wasn't myself. I really wasn't.... [Is he sounding even more pathetic, even if it's true to some degree? For a while now, he thought it would be bad to deny that he did it, but now talking about it out loud, Scott can't stop himself from refusing some of that responsibility. He's not a murderer-- he didn't want to be one again. He is pretty sure that he was going to use his healing powers.]
