Who: Scott Summers and you
Where: Around Aldrip
What: Scott glitching into different versions of himself, such as 97, James Marsden, time displaced teen Scott from the comics, etc...
Warnings: Maybe some possible spoilers for X-Men 97??
I’m Totally Buggin (X-Men 97);
[Walking around Aldrip? You may notice a slightly familiar, but also pretty different version of one Scott Summers. Mostly, just the fact that he's an adult that's wearing a bright and colorful X-Men uniform. Look, who would wear black leather?? There's definitely a certain serious countenance to him as he looks around, because this place is new and unfamiliar and where is his team? Hell, he'll even be glad to see Magneto around, since the older mutant has shown that he's capable of letting humans go despite their crimes against them. Second chances and all. It's what the late Professor wanted.
...He still wonders if he didn't do a good enough job if the Professor left everything to Magneto.
But no thoughts for that right now. He has to find the other X-Men or help out any mutants if they are in this city. So, once again, he tries to communicate with the other members of his team, pressing the communicator on his uniform to contact them.]
It's Cyclops, report.
[Once that message is sent, however, Scott will continue his exploration, perhaps even resorting to stopping someone else to ask for information. This doesn't look like an elaborate kidnapping ploy, so he's willing to hear out any of the people walking around.] Can you tell me where we're at?
[Maybe you'll catch Scott walking around one of the more crime infested areas, just casually blasting a robber from across the street with the lowest power setting so that they collapse to the ground, mostly uninjured. It sure is nice to have a visor where he can control the output of his blasts.]
I was basically a cameo (X3: Last Stand);
[Enjoying the beach? Well, maybe not anymore, because there is a scream that echoes throughout the area before two familiar red blasts shoot through the sea for a few seconds, the water breaking apart before instantly converging once more as Scott falls to his knees a respectable distance away (look, he wasn't going to blast right next to someone, he has just enough sense for that). And it's definitely some version of Scott as he stares out at the ocean with an expression that seems haunted and exhausted, despite the shades covering his eyes. Maybe it's the fact that he clearly hasn't shaven in a hot minute.
Normally, Scott wouldn't even think to act this way out in public. But Jean is gone. He can't even hear her in his mind now. She's been dead for a year and he still can't come to grips with it. It's just. He should've done more for her. He should've been there. He should've done something. He... he doesn't know what to do and all that training and self-control is not helping him right now.
He can only just look at the water in front of him, so unlike the lake that claimed her, teeth clenching as her name falls from him.]
Jean...
I stole Wolverine's bike (All New X-Men comics);
[Well, isn't this great.
This Scott half expects Hank to pop out of nowhere and tell him that he's been brought to somewhere else to stop his future self, even if it doesn't make any sense. Nothing has made sense though in the past few days. Look, learning that he kills Charles Xavier in the future, that his future self is a mutant revolutionary hanging out with Magneto, and that everyone pretty much hates him has been a lot. He... he didn't do that. He doesn't want to do any of that.
But Hank hasn't come out to tell him his new idea. And people aren't looking at him with utter contempt or distrust. It's kind of nice. Sure, he only experienced that for just a few days now, but it has been enough. It's not like he can really forget how even Jean looked at him when everyone learned what his future self is like. Probably didn't help that he literally attacked him and the others and promptly disappeared with his new best friend Magneto.
God, this sucks still. Because he doesn't know where he's at and no one is familiar. He'd still rather have the other young X-Men here, because even if it's Bobby or Warren looking at him with distrust, at least they're still his friends.
Scott stares up at the sky for a moment, closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. He can handle this. He can--]
This might as well happen!
[He shouts into the sky before promptly collapsing back on the grass and staring upward still. Maybe that feral man with the claws will come out of nowhere to kill him. He wonders if it would be that bad.]

[He's gotten a few raised eyebrows here and there, but also, nothing too extreme either. Like it's not the weirdest thing the locals have seen or dealt with in this city. Scott's not sure if that's a good or bad thing, he's currently still deciding. Ask him again when he has a really bad day.
Or how quickly that day arrives for him.]
I'll search for a place as well. [They probably won't need anything as large as the mansion back home, not that Scott can afford anything like that.] Keep in mind for more space in case more of us show up or if those two teenage mutants need a place where they feel safe and welcome.
[And isn't that the million dollar question. If he's holding up. He just sort of accepted the whole thing with Magneto, although him and Jean are in a rough place, but. That's not here and now. He's fine.]
I'm fine. Haven't been attacked yet, I'd consider that an improvement over the last couple of days.

[It's a relief to hear that Scott was at least okay, though Morph suspects that it'll be even harder to convince him to spill the beans over their communicators. It was too much like a call where ten of your friend had automatically picked up the phone.]
We'll do our best, but this city? It runs on gold instead of regular cash! And with Rogue around...
[Their brief, incredulous tone has grown a little uncomfortable. They had briefly prodded her about the issue once, but backed off pretty quickly. Partially for the sake of harmony, and partially because Morph just didn't know what they could say to her that could possibly convince her otherwise.]
Let's just say that if Magneto intends to reform the Acolytes, she's going to be the first in line. I know she wouldn't hurt the kids, but she might not like how chummy they are with regular humans.
no subject
He'll just ask. Best to get to the bottom of this instead of theorizing.]
Morph, I'll need you to explain this 'Bastion.' And Magneto reforming the Acolytes, along with Rogue--
[But before Scott can fully finish his order, there's a gasp and suddenly, the communication is cut off. Unfortunately, regular Scott doesn't get to keep the communicator that was on his uniform.]
no subject
[When there's no reply, they start to panic, just a little. That didn't sound good, and despite the lack of threats around the city Morph's immediate first thought was that he got attacked somehow.]
Cyke? Cyclops, come in!
[They even resort to jabbing their communicator over and over again, but nothing's broken. There's just no reply. Without the slightest clue of what's really going on, Morph hurries out of the inn to go searching for their missing teammate. A few hours of searching go by before they're forced to give up. Though they're pretty sure it hadn't all been in their head, the Scott they knew was simply gone, vanished like a mirage.]

Still, just what the hell was that all about???
Okay, Summers, don't panic. It's no time to have an existential crisis.
Well, maybe he can have one. Of course he knows that other Scotts exist and everything, he just didn't think he'd actually be turning into one of them, even if it wasn't for too long. Like, what is it supposed to mean?? ...Okay, time to just message Morph because they're probably freaking out too, right?]
uh, hey.

you're looking for him-- scott, right? your scott.
[He thought about trying to pretend for Morph for just a bit longer, but he wouldn't be able to pull it off for long. Not to mention that he... he doesn't want to be anyone else but himself. Better to just get this over with, even though Scott can only imagine the disappointment on the older mutant's face. I-it's not their fault or anything, he gets it and stuff.]
he's not here anymore. sorry.

basically, i was scott-- your scott, during that time. it was like i briefly turned into him.
[And now he's back to 'normal' or whatever. It doesn't feel like the entirely correct description; it's not like he's trying to call his other self abnormal. He was just here first!!]

[Does he mention everything else? Like how he also remembers the thoughts whirling in Other Scott's mind while talking to Morph? It's kind of personal, but also, maybe it's important for them to know? Ugh, why does this stuff have to happen now??
.......
What would the leader of the X-Men do??]
including his thoughts and feelings at the time.
no subject
[That thought sends a cold sliver of fear right down Morph's spine. Just what had he picked up on? What were the chances that it was anything? It's not like they thought the adult Cyke was particularly observant in a social sense. This... this might be okay.]
no subject
he was glad that you were here.
[It's nice that he doesn't have to lie about that. He wouldn't in the first place, probably avoid saying anything in the first place, but that relief was present. Guess it's fine telling Morph that??]

He doesn't doubt Morph's words though.]
the x-men are really that close? even rogue?
no subject
you know that being a mutant is tough. not a lot of us had great home lives or have our real families left to go to. we're all a bunch of misfits. so we might bicker and fight sometimes, but we're all here for each other.
no subject
[He's really coming to understand that being a mutant is tough. Between what Rogue briefly mentioned to him, how Kurt feels afraid still, and just... other things, not to mention Sentinels, it's impossible to ignore what Morph is saying. He at least has Alex back home and his parents are around, even if they aren't close. They didn't at least immediately reject him.]
but she basically told me that she's fine if a bunch of innocent people die. how is that okay?
there's bickering and then there's that crap.
no subject
but what am I supposed to do, huh? arguing with her gets us nowhere, and ditching her won't help either of us get home. I also know why she's doing it, and it's because she's been through some terrible shit, she's lost someone close to her and she's hurt and angry.
so this is one of those times I have to try to be a good example. I'm gonna stick close to her to make sure she doesn't lash out and hurt anyone while she's here, and maybe she'll start getting better. I know I'm at the bottom of the 'most responsible X-Men' list but I'm gonna try not to be a total fuck-up on this one.
no subject
[And he probably doesn't fully count in that?? But this isn't about him.
It's not surprising to hear that Rogue lost someone important to her. She already mentioned a massacre by the Sentinels, so it makes sense that a friend or lover died during that event. It sucks and he's not without sympathy for the older mutant. It's fucking terrible.
Scott closes his eyes, wishing that things were simple again. Like when he just arrived in this world. Before he learned more about different timelines and how awful it is for mutants. ...Although, he doesn't want to forget this either, it feels like he shouldn't.]
...watching out for her is the right step, i think. she shouldn't be abandoned even if i hated the stuff she said. it sucks feeling alone.
no subject
I'll do what I can, it just feels a lot like Magneto got to take Rogue in the divorce.
[Because Morph definitely picked up on the old man yaoi vibes during that whole debacle.]no subject
[......Okay maybe not the way he wanted to word that.]
i mean.
you're not a fuck up okay. other scott agrees with me too.
no subject
and look, the 'better than nothing' is pretty much true, so I'll take it.
no subject
good, because i'm not in the habit of repeating myself. i'll be annoyed if i have to remind you later on.
no subject
[Morph just can't help poking fun at that one, especially when that line sounds so much like something the adult version of him would say.]
no subject
shut up man.
