The Last Drop Grand Opening
Who: Whoever would like to attend the grand opening mingle at the Last Drop
Where: Entertainment District – The Last Drop
What: The grand opening of the night club / bar
Warnings: Alcohol and low-level drugs

The Last Drop opens big and loud with neon lights and music that booms from within to be heard from the streets. There are two large bouncers at the door, but they were allowing people in very freely on this night until the room was at capacity then there would be a line. The bouncers only stop those who are already three-sheets to the wind and could cause trouble, but otherwise, they are there to break up trouble as the night wears on.
Inside, there was smoke machines, flashing lights, loud music and the drinks were flowing to anyone that wanted. There was plenty of dancing, some dart boards along the walls, a jukebox, tables and booths for patrons to have drinks and discuss business.
There are stairs that lead up to a second floor to one side of the bar, lights on the stairs. There were people lounging on the stairs and it seemed to be ‘employees only’. Patrons were allowed the lounge there as well if they were tired of dancing or the tables or booths were occupied.

I'm not certain he has the necessary meddle to handle such an endeavor. He seems to avoid long-term responsibility.
[He did find it interesting that Jinx would give Vash an approval at all. He glanced up at her in the rafters.]
He's met your approval, has he?
no subject
[ she lifts a hand and uses each digit to count out vash's wonderful qualities, whether her father can see them from a distance or not. ]
He's a pushover, a "yes" man, pathetic, easily manipulative, a wuss, happy-go-lucky, and does whatever I say, so Jinxie likey. He'd be waaaaaaay better than the old Ogre...! You'll see.
[ his daughter shifts in her hammock to now sit upright, her legs dangling as she preps herself to hop down to his desk — and also giving him a head ups to move his belongings. ]
His whacko brother is gone, too. So, that's a thorn outta my side and an additional plus!
no subject
Unfortunately for Jinx, Silco needed a Sevika, not a push over.]
I need someone who follows orders but can make decisions without constantly having to come to me. Unfortunately, I don't believe that Vash has the ability to commit to anything but whimsy.
[Yet, he knew there was something more to Vash. He just hadn't been able to unearth it to the surface yet. Richard on the other hand... that could be someone he would like to put into a position of power to see how the man did.]
I didn't dislike his brother. He had a lot to offer. You didn't like him as he offered competition for the most heinous of acts on the streets. [Said with a fondness only a father could have for their child.]
no subject
the girl frowns over the commendation of knives, and she rolls her eyes in a typical teenager manner with a dramatically head tilt. ]
Nooooo, it was because he was crazy!! [ pot meet kettle. ] — Only insane lunatics kill people all willy-nilly without a purpose. Those people are dangerous and can't be trusted. You bring him in, and he'll betray you the moment he sees an opening.
[ a brief pause, as she trims down her theatrics and says with a smoother tone: ]
I'm just looking out for you. I do a lotta stakeouts, so... I know how to spot all the rust in cogs and junk.
no subject
He raised his eyebrow at her claim Knives was crazy. Demented maybe but insane? He was still on the fence about that.] To play devil's advocate, he had been transported here and hadn't coped well with his arrival. Besides, he said he hated humans, which seems cause enough.
[He hadn't made assessment enough to determine if loyalty was a priority for Knives. He might never find out and that was a shame.]
I appreciate you watching my back. I've recruited a considerable amount to our cause, so I have experience weeding out the bad cogs in our machine. Three eyes are better than one.
[You know, since he only had one fully functioning eye, that's all he could contribute.]
no subject
So let's smash our three eyes together. Vash is out, soooo... who's next on the list? — Ragna's already our bodyguard, so he's out too.
no subject
He met her gaze evenly.] Ragna also wouldn't want actual responsibility; doesn't he also have a church now? [He thought a moment.] Your appraisal of Ange the demon summoner? There are also two members of royalty who recently arrived, no crown upon their heads yet.

Aaaah, Grets. She's a babe, but reaaallly not into the "fun" stuff. It's always, "Jinx, don't do this. Jinx, don't do that. Think of the people you might affect when you blow them up!"
[ her mocking her friend's scold suddenly leads her into remembering something. ]
... Aw, shoot. I was supposed to let her know whenever I did something — [ jinx lifts a hand, then wiggles her index and middle to do air quotes.] — "bad". Guess no treat for me this time!
[ his daughter doesn't sound that brokenhearted about the whole ordeal, especially when there's a smirk curling over her lips. ]
But Royals, huh? What good will they do?
no subject
So she meets your approval. You do enjoy harassing her from what I've seen, so keeping her close would provide opportunities to do so more regularly.
[He wasn't certain how royalty worked in other worlds. The two here appeared to be playing a game with limited end, though he hadn't devised what they wanted. He wasn't certain they knew what they wanted either.]
They know how to sit pretty and give orders, I assume. You and I wouldn't know; we're sumprats to them.
no subject
Hm, I think they're the real sumprats. I bet if you toss them into a scrap, they won't survive two seconds out there. Royals need to learn how to fight, right? Isn't that how that goes?
no subject
He remained where he was, letting her lean in on him. It was a comfort to have her here and discussing business.]
Hmm, one might but the Council is still out on the other. [He shrugged one shoulder.] The question remains if they have it in them to make a play for power.
no subject
and despite the duo being from different generations, they're still aligned and united — even with so many new people being involved in their personal lives. in fact, sometimes it's a little weird talking about other people who aren't just the two of them (or sevika or piltover). time really has changed and shaped since their stay here, but at least she can still lean against him like this, and have reserved quiet moments just for them. his daughter stretches over to take a hold of his hand, using her own fingernail to pick off any dirt underneath his. ]
... You think we'll ever find the Council? Maybe they're hiding somewhere in those other cities we haven't visited yet.
no subject
He didn't refuse her taking his hand, letting her do as she pleased as he continued to think. Her little acts of grooming and taking care of him were no longer strange after all their time together, and she was the only one he let do so.]
I don't actually know if there is a Council to find. This place may manifest something meant to be, but whether it is an entity that actually exists remains to be seen. City Hall remains the hub of their power, and we should remain focused on that for now.
no subject
[ finishing picking dirt with one hand, jinx reaches over to his other and does the same thing. she knows her father will let her know if the council, or in this case, jerry came to him recently, but life in aldrip get extremely busy, and some events do tend to fall underneath the cracks. ]
... When I'm done, do you want to brush my hair?
no subject
[He gave up his other hand for her inspection, moving the one she had already worked on up to look at. Then he set it on the desk, pushing a piece of paper with his index finger. He expected that the Council or whoever ran this show would find a way to interfere, but he would deal with that when it occurred.]
I can, yes. Are you planning on sleeping here tonight?
no subject
[ she smiles warmly to him after she finishes picking at his last fingernail. then steadily, jinx shimmies herself to perch on the arm rest of his chair, moving her long pool of hair to hang on the other shoulder. ]
I mean... Iiiiii might stay over even if you don't. Somebody's gotta watch over the place after it's first big night. Can't have the drunkards get all kooky and sleep it off here.
no subject
[He had a perfectly functional chair here, which he had slept in more often than not. So it was more than likely he would sleep here in his favorite chair.
He waited for Jinx to settle on her perch before he reached up to help with her hair as it cascaded from her shoulder to his lap. With practiced ease, he grasped the long strands and spread them across his lap, over the other arm of the chair and over the other side before putting it up to pool more in his lap until he had the latest few inches in one hand and reached for the brush with the other. Methodically, he began the long process of brushing her hair. Never had he thought or cared to ask her to cut it.]
No, we can't set the precedence of allowing the drunks to sleep on the floor. It is best they find a part of the street if not their own homes. I trust you will usher some out in your own way?
no subject
[ she purrs smoothly as she shuts her eyes, feeling the light tugs of the brushwood straightening the tail ends of her locks. jinx knows, ultimately, she'll need to slither down to sit at his feet when he reaches the mid-point section of her hair, but for now, she'll wait until her father signals her to. with her hands resting on her lap, she smiles placidly and hums an airy-like melody to fill their silence. and soon, the melody comes with words: ]

He listened to her sing as he worked, remembering her tiny trembling shoulders as she sat in his lap, wiping tears and snot from her face as he brushed out her hair. It had been the second comfort he had ever offered, and now it was practically engrained in a sort of tradition that they had. Missions, tinkering projects, politics and everything else the world through at them had reduced how often this activity happened, but he couldn't think of a time he denied it.
He worked up her hair with longer brush strokes, letting the brushed ends over the arm of the chair and worked his way up. He paused to untangle some snaggles by hand before continuing. Once they reached the moment he was at her mid-back, he paused to touch her elbow to signal for her to take a seat either in his lap or on the floor.]

He smoothed and arranged the locks to both pool in his lap and over the side of the chair. That done, he returned to brushing where he left off from the crown of her head and down, the length of the brush strokes increasing to the full length of his arm. At this point, there were few tangles aside from her bangs which were not hard to smooth out.
That point onwards it was simply Silco brushing her hair and listening to her tune, his thoughts shifting to the necessary decisions to keep this life for them secure here.]

The desk is exactly as it was in Zaun, so yes.
[He kept his own spaces generally very clean. He had made a point to never clean those areas for the risk of removing her developing art.]
You used to sleep in there. And draw. And eat sometimes.
[The early days. Her confidence had grown over the days, weeks, and months that she had come to his care. Her independence now was a sign that he had done right by them both back then, letting her know he was there regardless of what nook or cranny she had wedged herself into.]

[ her voice trails off as her mind takes a trip down through memory lane, recalling a lot of sobbing and clinging onto silco's pants leg whenever he sat down so she had something to hold on to. jinx wets her chapped lips and then tilts her head up to her father, eyes big and filled with curiosity. ]
Did that ever bothered you?
no subject
No, it never did. You needed time and space to cope with the loss of your sister and Vander. [He used a finger to push some of her bangs behind an ear.] It did complicate some meetings when you were sleeping on my legs; however, it made those I was meeting far more uncomfortable so I still considered it a win.
