The Last Drop Grand Opening
Who: Whoever would like to attend the grand opening mingle at the Last Drop
Where: Entertainment District – The Last Drop
What: The grand opening of the night club / bar
Warnings: Alcohol and low-level drugs

The Last Drop opens big and loud with neon lights and music that booms from within to be heard from the streets. There are two large bouncers at the door, but they were allowing people in very freely on this night until the room was at capacity then there would be a line. The bouncers only stop those who are already three-sheets to the wind and could cause trouble, but otherwise, they are there to break up trouble as the night wears on.
Inside, there was smoke machines, flashing lights, loud music and the drinks were flowing to anyone that wanted. There was plenty of dancing, some dart boards along the walls, a jukebox, tables and booths for patrons to have drinks and discuss business.
There are stairs that lead up to a second floor to one side of the bar, lights on the stairs. There were people lounging on the stairs and it seemed to be ‘employees only’. Patrons were allowed the lounge there as well if they were tired of dancing or the tables or booths were occupied.

Anyway, Richard really is sticking out like sore thumb. The bright, flashing lights and loud music is near impossible for him to tolerate, overwhelming and leaving him lost and unsure what to do with himself. To say that he finds the ambience uncomfortable is putting it lightly. The uneasiness clings on his body like an extra layer of cloth, suffocating him slowly.
However, the sudden touch on his back snaps him out of the spell. Flinching Richard spins around on his heels to look at whoever dared to touch him. Lips slightly parted, his eyes are stern, yet reflecting a state of confusion as he looks Matt up and down, focusing briefly on the colored glasses.]
..Very well.

[ Matt flashes him a grin and then turns towards the bar, easily parting the crowd with his cane. ]
What do you like to drink? It's on me tonight.

The expression on Richard's face shifts, lips curling into amused grins as he follows the man. So, it is a gathering of all wretched and miscreants of darkness, he laughs to himself.]
I'll have the same as you, sir.
no subject
Great, two neat whiskeys, then.
[ That's to the bartender, who hands slides the glasses across the bar at him shortly there after. Matt picks them up with rather good precision for a blind man and then offers one to Richard. ]
The next order of business is to find somewhere to sit. I'm sure there's a booth around here somewhere.

And seeing the confidence that the blind man carried himself as he so naturally navigated through the crowd made him believe that he, too, had learned to use the unassuming to his own advantage.
Richard silently accepts the offered whiskey. He almost raises the glass up in midair as in sign of gratitude, but stops himself. Right. The man can't see.]
You have my thanks. [He says, voice only barely audible underneath the blasting music. Then, Richard turns his head around to scan the area with his eyes, spotting a free booth in the back.] Aye. There is one in the far left. Do you need assistance getting there, sir? [Ok. The last bit was spoken with a slight humor. The man clearly knew how to manage himself after all.]
no subject
I think I can manage, but I'm never opposed to taking the arm of nice-sounding gentleman.
no subject
Worry not. I have no interest in crippling your independence, especially when you are already capable on your own. [And with that he walks towards the booth he had spotted earlier, fully expecting the man to follow him. And well, if he gets lost? That's no skin off his back.]
no subject
So what brought you out here tonight? I assume your first thought wasn't "I'm going to go stand around in the middle of a dance floor awkwardly."
no subject
Richard slides on the stool set around the booth and places the whiskey glass on the table. Why had he come here, indeed? Everyone could tell that he was out of his element in a place like this. Hell, even a blind person could see it.]
For no particular reason. [He admits, raising his glass to take a sip of the liquid. Thanks to his prior meeting with Silco, where man had offered him whiskey, he knew what to expect taste-wise and braced himself for the hit of hard liquor]
What of you? I would have not expected to meet someone without sight in a place like this.
no subject
I lost my sense of sight, not my sense of fun.
no subject
[Because yeah, Richard's not sure what kind of pleasure a place like that has been constructed to assault every possible sense a person has would bring to a blind.]
no subject
[ Don't have to see for any of that. ]
no subject
It's loud. [And that's his estimation of it!]
no subject
That's the point.
