TWAT club meeting mingle

Who: Scott Summers and members of TWAT (Teenagers With Abilities and Talents) Club. Or any teenager that just stops by really.
Where: Roof of the club building
What: Teenagers with abilities or maybe no real abilities hanging out on the rooftop and eating food. Talking. Doing club stuff.
Warnings: Probably none.


[Maybe you're already part of TWAT club and read the message that Scott sent out to everyone, basically stating that they're having a meeting this Saturday to just hang out and meet new members. Or you saw one of the flyers around town that mentioned about having a meeting. Either way, the meeting is held at the rooftop of the club building, so just come. No food or anything required. He's a good leader like that, yeah. Definitely.]

[Why did you come early, god.

Well, anyone that is one of those people that like to come early to events, Scott's putting you to work. Maybe it's just helping getting the food out on the tables, or bringing up chairs or tables up to the rooftop. Either way, work needs to be done and setup is still in progress, so pair up with other TWAT members or whatever to get things ready. Thanks, Scott appreciates it. Probably.

Also, if you have your own food or brought a game of some sort, that's cool. He definitely isn't going to say no. Go set that up.]

[Once the meeting starts and Scott gives some basic speech and welcoming new people to TWAT Club (in which he wasn't nervous at all shut up), people are more than welcome to just eat the pretty decent spread laid out in the tables. Stuff like chips, pizza, rice balls, ramen, probably some mixture of American and Japanese food because he's him and his girlfriend is Kotone, so yeah. There's also a little sign or note in front of the tables that states 'provided by cooking club, so join us. ✨'

Since this is a place filled with teenagers and abilities... Scott probably has encouraged people to show off their powers a little. JUST DON'T BLOW SOMETHING UP it's okay, he's talking about himself too. Of course, he's not forcing anyone to show off their powers and everything, but he sort of hopes people are feeling more comfortable to do so. That is the purpose of his club and everything.

There's also a random cornhole game set up. Don't ask.]

[Feel like being a nice person and help clean up? Nice. Scott isn't forcing anyone to stay after to do so, but he appreciates the help. It's mostly just taking tables down and clearing out the trash. Anyone that stays can probably take home some of the leftovers. So, that's a nice bonus.

Maybe you just want to sit on the ground and enjoy the evening a little. He's not judging.]

Yeah. Well, you got to stand back a little bit from the board.

[Kurt demonstrates.]

So you can't just drop it on in! It's all about the aim.

Um...okay.

[He moves to about as far from the board as Kurt is and throws a bean bag into the hole. He throws it like a baseball, though, not the normal underhand toss.]

Okay! Not bad for a first try. But you should try to throw it like this.

[Kurt proceeds to demonstrate the motion of the underhanded throw.]

Oh...I guess that makes it harder. That makes sense.

[He watches Kurt then takes a few moments to judge how he should be doing it before tossing another bean bag. He overshoots the target.]

...Yeah, I guess it is harder.

[He'll get it in a few tries, though.]

[Kurt nods along.]

Yeah, that's the way it's supposed to be played. Adding some good old-challenged! [And once he gets it in, Kurt cheers.]

He shoots, he scores! Awesome job!

That makes sense, games are less fun if there's no challenge.

Its, um...I'm not good with people so i-its a lot.

But, um, I haven't really had a bad time.

I see... I'm glad it hasn't been bad, but if there's any way I can make things easier for you, just let me know. Everyone should be able to have a great time here!

O-oh, i-its fine. I'm fine. Don't worry about me. But, um, thank you thought.

No problem. I just wanna make sure you feel comfortable, man. You know, not to put you on the spot, but considering you are here, do you have any kinds of special abilities going on?

Um, well I-I know a little magic but it's not much. Mostly it's for combat anyway.

[digthefuzz]

Well hey that's cool! Magic is super awesome. And it's always good to be able to defend yourself! I mean, that's the best use of abilities and powers, really. It's all about protection! [He offers a thumbs up.]

[solitarysoul]

I-i guess. I've never done anything with them here, when there's been danger or a battle or whatever I've always just brought my rifle.

[digthefuzz]

Wait, a rifle? [He didn't see that coming.] That- that's your weapon of choice?

[solitarysoul]

Um.

[Right. This again.]

Well, I was in the army before I, uh, came here.

[digthefuzz]

Oh. I- I guess that would explain that! [He says with a meek snile. He wouldn't have taken him for a soldier.]

I guess it makes sense to defend yourself with what you know. But I'm sure that magic of yours would come in handy too!

[He does look a bit young for it.]

Yeah...it's just...weird. The magic.

[That too! It just doesn't feel right.]

Its...I don't know. I thought it wasn't really for most of my life. And it's draining to use but that makes sense. I'm just not used to it, I guess. But I don't see a reason to use it enough to get used to it. Sometimes I even forget I know it.

[Except the talking to rats and crows thing, that was normal because he couldn't turn it off anyway.]

I see. It's not good if it's draining and all. But maybe it can help to practice it a little here and there. See if it makes it easier to use! I do come from a place with a school that's all about controlling powers and being safe about it. If you're down, I'd be happy to help you however I can!

Uh...maybe. I think that's just the cost to use it. But, um, I'll think about it.

[He'd usually prefer he didn't have to deal with it though.]
