TWAT club meeting mingle
Who: Scott Summers and members of TWAT (Teenagers With Abilities and Talents) Club. Or any teenager that just stops by really.
Where: Roof of the club building
What: Teenagers with abilities or maybe no real abilities hanging out on the rooftop and eating food. Talking. Doing club stuff.
Warnings: Probably none.
[Maybe you're already part of TWAT club and read the message that Scott sent out to everyone, basically stating that they're having a meeting this Saturday to just hang out and meet new members. Or you saw one of the flyers around town that mentioned about having a meeting. Either way, the meeting is held at the rooftop of the club building, so just come. No food or anything required. He's a good leader like that, yeah. Definitely.]
before the meeting;
[Why did you come early, god.
Well, anyone that is one of those people that like to come early to events, Scott's putting you to work. Maybe it's just helping getting the food out on the tables, or bringing up chairs or tables up to the rooftop. Either way, work needs to be done and setup is still in progress, so pair up with other TWAT members or whatever to get things ready. Thanks, Scott appreciates it. Probably.
Also, if you have your own food or brought a game of some sort, that's cool. He definitely isn't going to say no. Go set that up.]
just hanging out;
[Once the meeting starts and Scott gives some basic speech and welcoming new people to TWAT Club (in which he wasn't nervous at all shut up), people are more than welcome to just eat the pretty decent spread laid out in the tables. Stuff like chips, pizza, rice balls, ramen, probably some mixture of American and Japanese food because he's him and his girlfriend is Kotone, so yeah. There's also a little sign or note in front of the tables that states 'provided by cooking club, so join us. ✨'
Since this is a place filled with teenagers and abilities... Scott probably has encouraged people to show off their powers a little. JUST DON'T BLOW SOMETHING UP it's okay, he's talking about himself too. Of course, he's not forcing anyone to show off their powers and everything, but he sort of hopes people are feeling more comfortable to do so. That is the purpose of his club and everything.
There's also a random cornhole game set up. Don't ask.]
after club;
[Feel like being a nice person and help clean up? Nice. Scott isn't forcing anyone to stay after to do so, but he appreciates the help. It's mostly just taking tables down and clearing out the trash. Anyone that stays can probably take home some of the leftovers. So, that's a nice bonus.
Maybe you just want to sit on the ground and enjoy the evening a little. He's not judging.]
[ooc: TWAT mingle log! Please feel free to post your own top levels and tag each other. :> If your character would bring food or set something up, go right ahead. The more the better, right? Also your character doesn't need to be part of TWAT to join, Scott will just sort of let any teenager in. 'Teenager' being anyone that doesn't look too much like an oldie--]

So she was just
being a boring motherfuckerpeople watching in the corner. She'd found a nice little spot that let her look out from above the rest of the party and was just camping there. Probably overdressed in her trousers and button-up shirt. People who'd met her before might noticed that her eyes were slightly red, that she'd sniff occasionally... Or just sneezing. After a particularly bad bout, she'd take a box of tablets out her pocket. Then about half-hour later, her head would start to loll forward. Ah, antihistamines and their drowsiness, why'd this party have to be outside?Very rarely, she'd venture to the food table. She'd noticed the California rolls. She'd nab a few on a small plate and go back in hiding.
10/10 party guest. She only spoke if someone approached or if she saw something particularly interesting.
Oh. But she did stay to help clean up, she did eat after all.]

She then hands Naoto a plate of such things with a cheery look.

For a moment she wanted to correct the woman on the wings comment. Then the second part registered, earning a frown.
"Are you implying I need to grow?"
Well, if the platform shoes fit...
no subject
"I have no idea. Your promotional spot seemed to indicate it though."
With that she shrugs, "Still, you do not look well, perhaps a food that does not exist is not the best. I am told that soups are best for those situations."
no subject
"I doubt soup will help with minor allergies..." Drily. Why was the pollen so bad here? It's never been an issue before.
no subject
She ponders a bit, "Still, perhaps the steam would help?"
no subject
"How so?" Because Naoto didn't think it would.
no subject
"I see, perhaps my time in the Sea of the Soul has exposed me to the things here. As for the steam, does pollen not clump together here when it is damp and become harder to inhale?"
no subject
She pursed her lips at the comment.
"I don't think the steam would be strong enough to cause that..."
Sorry about the delay, getting used to the new job's hours.
She nods, "The pollen would be drawn to the ground and suffer a much less irritating fate than making one sneeze."
it fine, jobs are suffering

She sees Naoto's head starting to loll forward and she's concerned this strange is about to end up passed out on the floor or something. The redhead makes her way towards her. ]
Are you alright? You seem a little under the weather.
no subject
The person you just sent a job inquiry to, might be the worst one to find you half-conscious. How mortifying. Okay, going carefully blank.]
I'm quite alright, thank you for asking. I just need some time to acclimate to the flora here... Do you know if it's normally this bad?
[She'd not had any issues with hayfever before. She was going to assume it was just because these plants were completely new to her.]
no subject
[ Good to know it's nothing major, considering she'd been worried that Naoto was about to pass out on the floor. ]
I have noticed an unusual increase in the amount of people showing allergic symptoms around the city, perhaps the pollen count is especially high at the moment.
I arrived in the autumn, I've not been here during spring time before so it may be normal for Aldrip.
no subject
It seems so. Unfortunately, the medication for it is... it has it's own side effects. [There was no escape. She was either nodding off or stuck sneezing with swollen eyes. Even locking herself inside hadn't helped. The ventilation for her apartment still let it in.
At Mitsuru's account, Naoto sighed.]
I see. I suppose it's because I've not been here very long. [It felt like it'd been a long time but two months. That wasn't much.] If it weren't for my senpai I wouldn't have attended. They thought it would be good for me...
no subject
[ As to the mention of attending this gathering and it being "good" for Naoto... ]
I suppose it is beneficial to forge new relationships with others while we are stuck here.
[ Said like someone who in reality is pretty inept at doing just that... ]
Who are your senpai? Perhaps I know them.
no subject
I think if I sat too long, I'd actually fall asleep. I'm not sure that's a good idea with some of those here. [She didn't know most the people here. But she was pretty sure falling asleep near Yosuke might end with her face being drawn on. Or other tomfoolery.
But moving on. Naoto gave a slight bow, tipping her hat.]
I'm Naoto Shirogane, a first year of the same school that Yu Narukami and Yosuke Hanamura attend.
no subject
Totally different when people tried to force him to be outgoing. Yeah.]
Come on, not even gonna say hi?
[He is glad that she came here at all though.]
no subject
At least she stopped when he called her out, instead of running off.]
Hello... [Enjoy your confused stare. Making conversation wasn't her strong point if it didn't involve questioning people about murders.
Then she tipped her hat, hiding her eyes from view. Was that a little blush? Yes it was.]
I must apologize. I find myself at a loss as to what to do at events such as this.
no subject
Now the question is to just rub her embarrassment in or spare her. Truly, a hard decision, one that makes Scott's smirk grow ever so slightly as he folds one hand against his hip.]
Well, you got the eating food part down. But you're missing the other part and that's talking to some of the others here.
[And show off her powers. He wants to see her Persona and he's about 90% sure of that assumption. Yu's her classmate and the whole 'I'm totally average' thing? He's not buying that.]
no subject
The last time I was at an event like this, I was told I was embarrassing. Then Yosuke-Senpai insulted me.
[Naoto, that's cause you just trauma dumped when asked to tell a story.]
no subject
Just barrel on ahead, like usual.
He at least tries to be a little supportive, his smirk leaving his face as curiosity enters his voice.]
Uh, what happened? Just forget what Yosuke said.
no subject
But Naoto frowned. Thinking back to all those months ago. She'd... Not been in a great place at that time. The police had dismissed her, they'd just wanted to close the case even though it was blatant Kubo couldn't have been behind Yamano and Konishi's deaths.
Then Yu and his group seemed to be making fun of her. She'd known they were involved but couldn't place how.]
Yukiko-Senpai had asked me to tell a story. So I told them about my work as a detective with my grandfather...Yosuke-senpai said I couldn't read the room.
[Ah yes, 'totally normal and average' teenage detective. ]
no subject
I guess stuff like that isn't traditional story material, but. [Scott shrugs, seemingly unbothered by this. He still feels like he's not getting the full picture here, but it probably doesn't matter. Honestly, he'd rather hear about someone's work as a detective than some dumb story about a shopping trip or whatever.]
You can tell me about your detective work with your grandfather. Sound kind of cool, honestly.
no subject
Talking about her work had been rather easy at club escapade. But now she hesitated, what if he made fun of her as well?
But she sighed.]
There's not really much to tell. [After the TV world, her previous work seemed...not minor. But the TV world had opened her eyes to just how many unknowns there were.]
My parents died when I was young so my grandfather raised me. I wasn't very good at making friends with children my age. My grampa must have felt sorry for me being alone so much, so he started taking me with him on cases. [Less formal 'grandpa', the affection seeping through. A small smile, though she wasn't looking at Scott.]
At some point, I started being called junior detective and then I started handling cases on my own when I got older.
no subject
So holding back his initial thought and pressing it behind a small sigh, Scott cocks one hand against his hip as he smirks.]
Yeah? Your grandfather sounds like a pretty cool guy. [Especially seeing the smile on Naoto's face when she mentioned him. Yeah, guess this isn't so bad.] Taught you everything?
