Who: Scott Summers and members of TWAT (Teenagers With Abilities and Talents) Club. Or any teenager that just stops by really.
Where: Roof of the club building
What: Teenagers with abilities or maybe no real abilities hanging out on the rooftop and eating food. Talking. Doing club stuff.
Warnings: Probably none.


[Maybe you're already part of TWAT club and read the message that Scott sent out to everyone, basically stating that they're having a meeting this Saturday to just hang out and meet new members. Or you saw one of the flyers around town that mentioned about having a meeting. Either way, the meeting is held at the rooftop of the club building, so just come. No food or anything required. He's a good leader like that, yeah. Definitely.]

[Why did you come early, god.

Well, anyone that is one of those people that like to come early to events, Scott's putting you to work. Maybe it's just helping getting the food out on the tables, or bringing up chairs or tables up to the rooftop. Either way, work needs to be done and setup is still in progress, so pair up with other TWAT members or whatever to get things ready. Thanks, Scott appreciates it. Probably.

Also, if you have your own food or brought a game of some sort, that's cool. He definitely isn't going to say no. Go set that up.]

[Once the meeting starts and Scott gives some basic speech and welcoming new people to TWAT Club (in which he wasn't nervous at all shut up), people are more than welcome to just eat the pretty decent spread laid out in the tables. Stuff like chips, pizza, rice balls, ramen, probably some mixture of American and Japanese food because he's him and his girlfriend is Kotone, so yeah. There's also a little sign or note in front of the tables that states 'provided by cooking club, so join us. ✨'

Since this is a place filled with teenagers and abilities... Scott probably has encouraged people to show off their powers a little. JUST DON'T BLOW SOMETHING UP it's okay, he's talking about himself too. Of course, he's not forcing anyone to show off their powers and everything, but he sort of hopes people are feeling more comfortable to do so. That is the purpose of his club and everything.

There's also a random cornhole game set up. Don't ask.]

[Feel like being a nice person and help clean up? Nice. Scott isn't forcing anyone to stay after to do so, but he appreciates the help. It's mostly just taking tables down and clearing out the trash. Anyone that stays can probably take home some of the leftovers. So, that's a nice bonus.

Maybe you just want to sit on the ground and enjoy the evening a little. He's not judging.]

[She'd not even noticed his smirk. She was too busy examining the floor, the paper plate she was holding. Naoto had no idea what she was going here. It wasn't like the cristmas party, or the sleepover ski trip. Rise and the others had been able to keep a conversation going.]

The last time I was at an event like this, I was told I was embarrassing. Then Yosuke-Senpai insulted me.

[Naoto, that's cause you just trauma dumped when asked to tell a story.]

[Hard to imagine Yosuke insulting any girl, but guess you learn new things. Also, kind of uncool man?? Unless Naoto did do something really embarrassing. It's possible. He's not tossing that possibility out, because she is a bit socially awkward. Still, instead of theorizing on what actually happened, it's best to just ask, right?

Just barrel on ahead, like usual.

He at least tries to be a little supportive, his smirk leaving his face as curiosity enters his voice.]

[Little did Scott know, Yosuke insulted all the girls he knew on a regular basis...

But Naoto frowned. Thinking back to all those months ago. She'd... Not been in a great place at that time. The police had dismissed her, they'd just wanted to close the case even though it was blatant Kubo couldn't have been behind Yamano and Konishi's deaths.

Then Yu and his group seemed to be making fun of her. She'd known they were involved but couldn't place how.]

Yukiko-Senpai had asked me to tell a story. So I told them about my work as a detective with my grandfather...Yosuke-senpai said I couldn't read the room.

[Ah yes, 'totally normal and average' teenage detective. ]

[Yosuke is this why you haven't touched titty--]

I guess stuff like that isn't traditional story material, but. [Scott shrugs, seemingly unbothered by this. He still feels like he's not getting the full picture here, but it probably doesn't matter. Honestly, he'd rather hear about someone's work as a detective than some dumb story about a shopping trip or whatever.]

You can tell me about your detective work with your grandfather. Sound kind of cool, honestly.

[Naoto didn't know much in the way of traditional stories. She had vague memories but what she could remember reading was detective novels. Classics, newer ones. All filled with lovely things like murder.

Talking about her work had been rather easy at club escapade. But now she hesitated, what if he made fun of her as well?

But she sighed.]

There's not really much to tell. [After the TV world, her previous work seemed...not minor. But the TV world had opened her eyes to just how many unknowns there were.]

My parents died when I was young so my grandfather raised me. I wasn't very good at making friends with children my age. My grampa must have felt sorry for me being alone so much, so he started taking me with him on cases. [Less formal 'grandpa', the affection seeping through. A small smile, though she wasn't looking at Scott.]

At some point, I started being called junior detective and then I started handling cases on my own when I got older.

[......Okay he kind of gets what Yosuke meant by mood killer. He sort of thought that Naoto would immediately start talking about being a cool detective that solved crimes with her grandfather, not the somewhat depressing backdrop. But, hey, he did ask and everything.

So holding back his initial thought and pressing it behind a small sigh, Scott cocks one hand against his hip as he smirks.]

Yeah? Your grandfather sounds like a pretty cool guy. [Especially seeing the smile on Naoto's face when she mentioned him. Yeah, guess this isn't so bad.] Taught you everything?

[For a vast majority of her life, her grampa was her only friend. Him and Yakijisu, his assistant along with the other servants. So there was certainly a warmth there when Naoto talked about them. Especially compared to how stoney she normally was.]

He is and he is still teaching me to this day. Though he has a habit of playing pranks. I thought he'd settled down now he was older but... [She was fondly shaking her head.] He got Yu-senpai involved in his latest one.

[Scott does notice the difference in Naoto's demeanor, the fondness in her voice as she talks about her grandfather. It hasn't taken him long to figure out that she's more of those reserved and quiet types that doesn't really show too much emotion, but it's clear as day right now that she really loves and looks up to her grandpa. Geez, he really can't poke at her now for this. It's nice seeing Naoto happy about something.

It's okay, there are many other ways to tease her.]

Okay, you can't just learn about being a detective from him. You have to learn how to play pranks from him too. [Especially if he pranked Yu. Incredible. This old man already sounds pretty cool, honestly.] Be fun to team up with him and prank your friends.

[The smile dropped into something more confused, her head tilting at him.]

But why would I prank them? [Her granpa's pranks had been to teach her a lesson and test if she'd made good friends.] I'd rather not. I don't want to upset anyone.

[She'd not had friends before, she didn't want to lose them by being mean-spirited. ]

Uh, because it's fun? Besides, are you implying that your grandpa played upsetting pranks on others?

[When in doubt, guilt trip. That always works perfectly. Scott's just banking on the fact that Naoto will come to her grandfather's defense about this and it definitely shows, because he's still smiling, almost smirking at her.]

I suppose it as funny sometimes. [But she sounded unsure. She didn't defend her grampa at Scott's needling because uh... Yes. Sometimes they were upsetting. So Naoto was serious.]

He one of his most recent ones. He had his butler pull a fake knife on Yu-senpai and me to see how senpai would react. He wanted to know if I'd made good friends.

If it's not funny, you're not doing it right.

[Although, wow. Okay. Her grandpa's prank really doesn't sound that funny, maybe just a little?? But geez, Naoto's old man is pretty hardcore. He'll admit that.]

Okay, we can start smaller. Skip the fake knife and just go for the classics.

[That only made Naoto more concerned. Skip the fake, go to the classics?]

[She's never played a prank in her life Scott. How was that smaller? And how was it better than a fake?

...This is why she showed up to a Christmas party in riot gear.]

You know what? We'll just stick to detective things for now.
