[It's yet another beautiful day in Aldrip. Or is it?
The weather certainly is an unusual one. Akechi can't even remember when was the last time he had seen it pour down quite like this. Luckily, he had noticed the rain before going out for his business and managed to grab an umbrella in time.
Of course, the rain wasn't the only oddity. Akechi could tell that there was something very off about the town overall. There was clear tension of anxiety in the air, and whoever he came across seemed to be dazed or otherwise out of it. Some of them stopping all of the sudden and staring into the distance, as if they saw something that wasn't there.
And... it'd be lying to say that Akechi himself wasn't affected by the strangeness. He felt strangely nervous too, the hair on the back of his neck were up and standing as if a constant dread was looming over him.
But then he notices a very familiar looking figure standing under a shelter. Like a animal caught in a rain.]
['An animal caught in the rain' isn't too far off. Shinjiro is pressed back against the side of the building, as though to keep himself as much under the awning as possible. He'd definitely been dressed for yet another comfortable, mild day in Aldrip-- and so now his arms are folded to stave off the uncommon chill, and his hair is soaked and stuck to his head and face. Despite that, when Akechi approaches with an umbrella and a tease, his expression softens into something more amused. Because hell- at least one of them has to be able to laugh at themselves.]
Yeah, I forgot it was gonna rain for the first time in like six months...
[He's not sure he even owns an umbrella. A jacket with a good, probably. But what was the point of the umbrella?]
Guess your planning ahead's really winning out for you today.
You know there are ways to determine the rain. [He shrugs, gesturing the air casually with his free hand. His need to be a showoff is briefly overshadowing the reason withing his mind. So, never mind that the rain alone should be something to be suspicious of.]
I was going to share the shade with you. But I can't say I was very impressed by the little stunt you pulled on the network the other day.
Yeah? Maybe you can do a write-up on it for the rest of us.
[And when Akechi calls out his stunt, he looks amused, rather than sheepish.]
Yeah, I'd be surprised if you had been. But if I'd known you were so hot for Cloud, I guess I could have tried hooking you up, instead of offering you out to others.
[Akechi's pride may be bruised, but everyone had been civil enough- he'd tested the waters with his own involvement, and with showing off a strategy dogs first. So it hadn't been throwing him completely in the deep end, right?
Still, he'll shake his head in something close to an apology.]
I could. But that would be too easy, don't you think. You and the others really ought to place more effort into your reading.
[Shinji might be out of the school already but Akechi will never stop poking fun of him on this. See? They both might come from the shitstain part of the city but at least Akechi managed to climb up through hard work and studying.
But the comment on Cloud does make the expression on Akechi's face harden up, lips pursing together into a tight line and brows pressing down. He is not amused]
Quite, yes. I do not need nor want your 'help' with my personal life.

I see you forgot something at home.
