( her eyes dart up to lock on the other's, eyebrows bunching tight together in silence with her fingers coming to halt at her hair. did ange offended her finally, or did the fun and games now fall stale? it's hard to distinguish with the expression wrinkling on the girl's face, and she blows out a sigh through her nostrils. her loose ponytail drops dead weight from her hold, and jinx shimmies away to move behind the counter -- tightening the bow from her apron. )

Listen girlie, I'm gonna be straight with ya.

( her tone hisses with some solemnity attached to the words before continuing on. )

It doesn't matter if the chick is me or not, you can't stop your brother from likin' someone. And who says it'll be a chick at all? Maybe he's into dudes.

( jinx stretches over for a cloth, a disinfection spray bottle, then washes the counter top. )

He's a looker and people are gonna look. Unless you want to put a paper bag over his head and lock him indoors like an animal, it's something you'll have to get use to. Trust me, you'll understand when you're older.

( ... they're roughly the same age. )

I understand just fine.

[ Ange doesn't move to follow Jinx. Instead she remains standing where she was already standing a moment ago, crossing her arms across her chest. Maybe she seems a touch less flustered at this point, but.. honestly, still as huffy.

(And, to be fair to what Jinx says-- Jinx is right in some ways. Ange really doesn't fully understand. But it has less to do with age, and more with her being sheltered by her brother and very asexual on top of it.. Two factors that certainly aren't helping here.. ]

And so does my brother. I mean, he's always telling guys the same thing about me, you know? He understands that we don't need someone to take one of us away from the other like that.
