▶ TREEHOUSE — all thru out the month (except during event timeframe)
( you are making your way through the PESSIRIA FOREST for... whatever reason. it's your personal business, not mine. but after walking for 3.9 miles in the forest, you spot... a house mixed in between the trees. had it always been there, or did it spring out of nowhere? the forest is pretty big, so maybe it was because you went into an entirely different route than usual. either way, from the looks of it, there doesn't seem there's an easy way to get up there and investigate unless you can fly or do some massive parkouring through the trees.
BUT WAIT!! there seems to be something close by....some...tall wooden box? correction, it's a wooden self-made elevator. and there seems to be a robotic monkey sitting next to it as well. how strange. there's a sign the toy seems to clutching onto that reads: PAT MY HEAD, THEN GO INSIDE. if instructed, the monkey will screech, which signals two monkey toys up above. they seem to be sitting on a two-seater bike, and they are paddling away with all of their might. the elevator lifts you, and you make it to the top safe and sound. congratulations, the elevator didn't crack during the ride! time to investigate who lives in this very unusual house. )
3/3
Once he arrives somewhere in the vicinity of the area described to him, he begins to look around, wondering what the hell he's actually trying to find. It's only then that he recalls their conversation some time back, and realizes this must be the area where her tree house is ─ and lo and behold, after a little search, he finds the location in question. It's actually pretty impressive, but there again, he shouldn't be surprised; for all her quirks and questionable choices, Jinx is nothing if not talented. It does take him a moment to find a way in, however, and once he spots the monkey guarding the elevator, the man has to stop and roll his eyes. ]
You've gotta be kidding me...
[ He stares down at the thing for like a solid minute before letting out a sigh and giving in, patting its head and feeling extremely silly doing so. But after entering the wooden box (and silently praying it's not gonna end up becoming his coffin), he does make it all the way up. He walks across the balcony slowly, knocking on the wall once he reaches the entrance. ]
Anybody home?

You found it! — Oooh, who am I kidding? I knew you would...! C'mon, c'mon, you're gonna let all the cold in.
( she side steps to make room for her partner to waltzes further in to take a gander on his own. with the door shut behind them, the teenager bounces at his side with both of her arms extended outward. )
Lemme give ya the tour of the place.
( which is rather funny to suggest, given her secondary home is literally several rooms in one area. there's hardly any room for privacy on the inside, but perhaps that's the point of this home. the fact it's positioned up in the trees, and away from civilization, it's quite obvious it's only her (and one additional person) who lives in this residence. it's an isolated spot where jinx can just be jinx without worrying of other's discomfort or complaints. )
This is the bed — ( she points. ) The sitting area, the bathtub, and kitchen. Aaaaaannd over there! ( she gestures to an extra small room across the kitchen area. ) Bathroom and shower.
( for the hell of it, her pinks glisten a haunting glow before zipping off to stand by the enormous slide window, fingers intertwine behind her back. it seems along with her being able to leave the city lines, the council restored her abilities too. putting two and two together, it's no wonder why she is in high spirits despite the black-out crisis.)
Last but not least, the balcony! In case you wanna get your sun rays on. Pretty neat, huh?
no subject
The corners of his lips curl up in the tiniest of smiles, and not just because he recognizes the hard work that must have gone into putting all of this together. Seeing her bounce back from the events of the last month like this, being her happy if chaotic self is a huge weight off his shoulders. He does assume this must mean all of the ill effects of whatever the hell Jerry did to her are now gone, and that's a plus, too ─ now he should be able to pay him and the Council back without having to worry that witnessing what he's planning to do would worsen Jinx's condition.
But that can wait; for the time being, the man lets out a small whistle as he nods in approval after taking a look around and taking in all the treehouse have to offer. ]
Yeah, it's pretty damn great. You really went all out to make this place a home, huh?
no subject
Ahem, well... — I, uh. Had a bit of help. From, uhm. Quentin...
( ugh, just mentioning his name dampers her mood and all the conflicted emotions are bubbling back onto the surface. )
This is, sorta, our...place? I live with my Old man, and he lives with Scott. So, it's a place where we can have some alone time. Together.
( the teen sniffs away the awkwardness and conveys the tone back around. )
But! It's just me, myself, and I here! ... Aaaand now you! So! Anythin' I can get ya? I don't got much with the black-out and all. But Jinxie isn't completely empty.
no subject
Something to drink would be nice.
[ He says more to fill the silence that was starting to feel awkward, and less because he's actually thirsty. Still, it's probably a good subject change and since Jinx offered it herself, he should probably take it and not pry any further. Quentin himself has said as much, too, hasn't he? Their relationship is none of his damn business. And him not getting involved would probably be for the best for literally everyone.
...
Ah, screw it. ]
... Think you two are gonna get back together?
no subject
asking her about her thoughts on her relationship stills her, and thank goodness her face is still in the fridge, so he wouldn't catch her disheartening frown. jinx pulls herself together though, spinning around to face her partner with a forced and tight smile; drinks in both hands. )
Beats me! The poor guy is probably so broken up about the whole thing.
( at least, she likes to daydream quentin is upset and is missing her just as much as she is missing him. but given by those text messages, he's... most likely doing fine and over it. jinx kicks the door shut with her foot and sets both their drinks on the counter; sliding his over. )
I guess if he impresses me like he did the last time, I maaaaay consider.
no subject
... Right.
[ Ragna takes a sip of his drink, and shakes his head. He doesn't think this relationship drama is worth prying into too much at this point; they've more or less discussed all there is to it, and it's not like he's of much help when it comes to the ~matters of heart~ anyway. ]
It'd better be hella impressive, then.

a "jinx" isn't meant to have the finer things in life. people will abandon her, no matter what level of importance they are. and maybe she needs to stop pretending she is like everyone else, because she isn't like everyone else. she is different. 'what makes you different makes you strong'. but if that's true, why doesn't she feel strong? her grip stiffens over her beverage as she hums a response, drowning down the drink as an excuse for her lack of words. maybe she should take on jogging every morning and slaying monsters again. perhaps that way, her confidence will boost, and these icky feelings will wither. jinx empty her glass in one big mouthful, and smiles lightly to her friend again. )
Y'know what this place needs? Another super wild party! — Like the one we had at the casino. That mask one was waaaaay too dull, and everyone was so stiffed. It was practically a funeral.
no subject
So here they are. Drinking and pretending they can handle this situation like adults. Kinda pathetic, but guess that's the sort of people they are.
Ragna is grateful for the subject change the girl offers, even if it's not one he's gonna be enthusiastic about, either. Another party? Granted, the powers that be seem hell-bent on tormenting them while they're stuck here, but surely, that would be too much of a torture even by their standards. ]
Pass. If I'm forced to endure any more of their shitty parties, I might torch the place.
no subject
But I'll be the one hosting. That the difference...!
( the blueberry haired girl swings her legs idly, elaborating further. )
All the food and booze you can eat and drink, loud music, and the fireworks, of course. We can't forget those.
no subject
You lost me at "loud music".
[ Free food is nice and all, but not worth the discomfort of having to deal with other people and all the social bullshit that came with them. Ragna thinks back to that one time they were lying on the ground in the forest, taking it easy and just soaking in the sun... now that's a much better way to spend time, if you ask him. ]
I'd rather just take a nap.
no subject
( the grin she is wearing is mischievously twisted, and she gulps down another round of her juice before leaning back against the fridge. )
It'd explain why you're always so grumpy. Huh! Why didn't I put that together?
no subject
How many times do I need to tell you?! I'm twenty-three!!
[ Well, twenty-four as of today, actually. But Ragna's never been known to be good at keeping the track of dates, especially ones as insignificant as his own birthday is to him at this point. ]
no subject
[ giggling, she spins around to the icebox and rummages around inside once more. ] — Okay, I'm starving now! What do you wanna eat? I can make a mean crab meat salad sandwich.
[ and whether ragna protests in having his own share or not, jinx reaches out for all the ingredients for making the meal and setting it on the table countertop. ]
