[You know, after being here for nearly a year you'd expect one to grow more accustomed to all the weirdness that's going on. And well, Akechi had thought he had seen it all. From the vengeful desert ghosts to maze of trauma to a gigantic squid monster -- the last one, which he missed because of something he didn't see incoming. He had known that this world (especially the Council) liked to play with their emotions and put them under different kinds of afflictions. But this time they had gone too far, hit him where it hurt the most and insulted his very being.
They had erased his memories. Like that fucking piece of shit therapist had attempted to do.
So, to say that Akechi was in a foul mood was an understatement of a lifetime. He was really tempted to pick where Dazai had left off and actually set the whole city hall building on fire. It honestly took a lot self-control from him not to just summon Loki and blow the place into smithereens. But... for the first time ever in his life Akechi has someone else to take into consideration when making his choices and well. He really didn't want to add more stress on Akira's plate during this time of the year. His sudden personality change had been just as traumatic to his partner as it had been to him.
Reluctantly, he decides to focus his energy to something more productive instead of destruction. Wow, what a character growth!
So, he does take part in assisting rebuilding Aldrip.]
a; the mess
[Even though Akechi isn't the most physically buff out there, and is somewhat lacking on the pure strength-department, it doesn't mean he's completely useless when it comes to dealing with the rubble and construction work. Meaning, he'll mostly take the role of an organizer, listing down needed equipment and materials and directing people around. Just give him one of those yellow construction helmets and he'd be perfect!
In fact he's going through with his notes at the moment with a rather frustrated expression on his face, his lips pressed into a thing line.]
Hey, [He calls out for the closest person, looking up from his notebook.] do you have moment? There's something that needs to be moved and we could use extra muscle power.
b; disaster
[He's... not entirely sure how he allowed himself to be pressured into working at the kitchen tent but there he is! Standing in front of one of the bigger pots placed on a makeshift fire. It's been about a year since last time the locals dragged him into cooking, and he has been learning some (mostly thanks to efforts of Kotone and Akira) so he had hoped that he managed to do as much as help with the soup.
And yet, despite of his best efforts, he's having an awful déjà vu as the strong burnt stench reaches his nostrils, the soup he's making taking a very unappetizing brownish color in the pot. Oh no, just what did he do?]
c; frustration
[Akechi keeps his eyes and ears open when the diplomats from Ketsora arrive to Aldrip. Of course he had, just like about everyone else, noticed the ominous blue light in the sky. His first reaction was to investigate it but... unfortunately the locals wanted to keep The Chosen away from the incident. Which he found to be beyond infuriating. Really, at times like these he really did miss Dazai and his network.
But with his options limited he could only do was to make sure that the relationship between Ketsora didn't escalate any further. So, after the diplomats came and announced the party Akechi agreed to help with the preparations. Which, this time, actually meant running errands for the party. So.. Great?
Akechi can be seen walking around Aldrip, carrying bags and boxes full of different materials for the party, from pieces of fabric to sashes and to other decoration. It's actually pretty difficult to make his way through the bumpy streets (god he misses proper pavement), but if he's struggling he's not showing it!
And like usually, the closer the party date gets, the more hectic things become. And Akechi finds himself sitting at one of the crafting tables helping with the decorations. Surrounded by colorful fabric and paper, he's tasked in making frivolous and tacky-looking ribbons as well making paper flowers.. It's actually going surprisingly well?
Also, there might or might not be a playful black tortoise-colored kitty cat running around the hallways and chasing down the frogs.]

Scott - training
Of course, his motivations weren't only to back up his previous bravado and mighty words, but he was also genuinely interested in Scott's powers.
Also he is still frustrated for Scott having to witness in such... Compromising, let's say, mental state. Sure, it wasn't mutant's fault any means but damnit he still wanted to knock him around a bit.
So, during the evening Akechi sends the invitation to Scott, telling him to meet him at the border of the city for training the next morning. He also tells him to come prepared.
And staying true to his word, Akechi is waiting for Scott at the promised place. He's wearing an outfit that somewhat resembles an jersey outfit (it might or might not belong to Akira tbh). Though strangely enough he doesn't seem to be carrying his signature sword this time.]
Are you ready, Summers?
no subject
Scott's honestly not sure how this training is going to even work. He doesn't want to fire his optic blasts at Akechi, especially not after last month, but maybe that's not the point...? Although, when everyone keeps telling him to train, it usually involves his powers, and Akechi's been adamant about him working on them. Something he actually agrees with, which is why he's even here in the first place.]
Yeah, I'm ready.
[It's actually kind of nice that Akechi is being a dick to him again. Their last encounter was... extremely strange, although, a part of him is actually kind of upset that the other teen doesn't actually want to be friends with him. It's stupid. He has plenty of friends and Akechi is a huge asshole, but he genuinely felt better when they talked.
But knowing all of it was forced and not really real sours it just a bit. He takes in another deep breath, nodding at him and showing that he's completely serious.]
So, how is this going to work?
no subject
Crossing his arms over his chest, Akechi looks Scott up and down, measuring him with his very unimpressed gaze. He knows it's not fair but just seeing the other teen manages to flare up the irritation within him, remembering their prior conversation. Good thing that Scott's glasses are red, that way he's not able to see the tips of his ears gain pink coloring.]
At first we are going to gauge out the limits of your powers, the strength of it and whether we can find a way for you to control the intensity of it. Then I'm going to see how good your combat skills just are. [He says, completely unfazed by the underlying implication that he'll have Scott actually use his eye lasers against him.
And with that, Akechi turns around and leads Scott further in to the woods.]
no subject
But Scott doesn't outwardly react to Akechi's unimpressed stare, because taking this seriously and everything. He's not like how he was when he first got here, calling himself a freak and being angry about everything. It's been a gradual growth, with its ups and downs, but his powers are a part of him and he's not going to turn away from them, even after last month. If he learns better control, then he can try and stop shit like that from happening anyway.
There's a small sigh as he starts following the other teen, but he eventually speaks up in a tone that's not quite defeatist, but a little worn out.]
I'll answer your second part already; I can't control the intensity. I've tried, multiple times and with others, but they shoot out of my eyes without restraint.
[Staring at the back of Akechi's head, he holds back a sigh because this is probably just how the detective is.] You really want me to fire my blasts at you, huh? Loki can repel that? Kotone used an attack that managed to do that when she stopped me last month.

Yu - Duel
It wasn't exactly something he felt proud of now later on. Which is exactly why he decided to fix it.
Mitama's stupid Date Auction came and Akechi actually made an effort to bid enough on Yu that it guaranteed him a win. After dealing with that he sends the wildcard a following text message:]
Morning.
You owe me a date and I feel like we have unfinished business. I'll be expecting you at the closest lake to the city entrance at the noon. Come alone and prepared.
- Goro Akechi
no subject
The message from Akechi doesn't come as a surprise, not after he found out the Detective Prince had bid on him. For his part, Yu goes with the intention of apologizing -- and brings a sword along only as a backup.
He's waiting at the directed lake a little before noon, on the shore closest to Aldrip. After he takes a few minutes to look for Akechi --no luck-- he sends a brief message:]
Hey. I'm here.
no subject
Yu will have to wait for about five minutes or so before Akechi arrives to their promised spot. The ex-detective watches the wildcard looking around from the behind, feeling glad that the other had understood to bring his sword with him. As Akechi is, too, carrying his signature serrated sword along with his trusty gun.
But hopefully those weapons won't be needed to be put in use too much. What Akechi was interested in was seeing the power of Personas Yu held, and whether he could hold a candle to Akira's power.]
You have arrived. Good. [He says dramatically as he steps into the light from behind the trees.] I have been wanting to see you again, Narukami-san.
no subject
It seems weirdly fitting for the detective, Yu thinks, even though that tone sort of sets him on edge. The sword, too; knowing that he was correct to bring his, that this is probably going to end in a trading of blows. He had come here to apologize, originally. Seeing the way Akechi carries himself, the preparedness for battle, he has to wonder if the other boy would appreciate that at all.
He decides against it, in the end.]
I see our last meeting left an impression on you, too.
[He keeps his tone carefully even, measured, watching with an analytical eye to see what Akechi is going to do.]

She literally steps in front of whoever he'd been trying to talk to and announces, ] You don't want them, you want me. What're we moving?
[ Toph is full of bravado. She knows what she looks like and she loves busting expectations. Though if somebody wants to just accept how awesome she is without any incredulity, that's pretty cool, too. ]
no subject
Um.. [He looks down at her, not quite sure how to take this. Because just from looks of it, she wouldn't be much help with the task, but he knows that there's some bullcrap abilities going around.]
Very well, follow me. [He says awkwardly, and gestures her to follow him. Behind a corner there's already bunch of people trying to move a gigantic boulder that's blocking an entrance to a building. They're using wooden blanks and other tools alike it, trying to get it move but with a little success.]
We'd need to move that boulder. After that we need to assess the damage that's done to building inside. Maybe you could help with the latter part?
no subject
There are a number of facial expressions Toph has learned that convey her emotions appropriately to seeing people. She employs one of them now: she looks up at the sky as if searching for patience for a long, noticeable moment before she responds. ]
See that building? [ Toph points off to the side without looking. It's a two-story brick house across the street that looks a little rough and quite empty, but completely solid and cohesive. ]
I did that yesterday in five minutes. Where do you want the boulder?
no subject
Anyway, Akechi looks up from her at the building she claims to have built which makes him raise an eyebrow. Still feeling rather doubtful, he steps aside giving her room.]
Just away from the building. Of course the ideal would be if we could transport it somewhere where it won't be in the way, and where we can mine it into more materials.

im busting into your post, WILDCARD EDITION
She assumes Akechi will make himself scarce, and that is likely where today is going to go wrong for Haru. Who should know better than to make assumptions in the first place.
She gives a firm knock to the door, and she waits. ]
Heeeere's Haru!
Still, he didn't want to monopolize Akira's time nor influence on who he'd spend his time with and who not. After all, he knew just how much he missed his friends back in Tokyo. So, whenever Haru dropped by to visit her leader Akechi would only give her a polite greeting and just find something else to do. Usually outside of their house, giving the two thieves some privacy.
That was the routine they had fallen off. It truly was as good as it could get, at least according to Akechi.
But this time Haru somehow manages to pick up unfortunate time for visit. Akechi had been feeling rather weird since the morning, he was weirdly antsy and nervous -- yet he wasn't anxious the same way he usually was. But something was definitely wrong. So he decided to stay at home after Akira left.
The knock on the door catches him off the guard. With a small frown on his face he makes his way to the door and opens it. ]
Ah. Okumura-san. What brings you here?
no subject
Safe to say she did not expect Akechi to be the one answering the door today, and she almost turns heel to walk away from the house. But she doesn’t, and against her better judgement too! She feels herself on edge, but not for reasons one might think. ]
Akechi-san, I was here to see Akira-kun.
[ That much is obvious. ]
May I come in?
[She can’t shake the feeling that something is very, very, VERY off right now. ]
no subject
[Yeah.. Akechi feels a little silly for asking that. Because yeah, that much is obvious. What else would bring her here? He steps to the side, pushing the door wide open to give her room.]
He's currently at work and probably won't be back for while. But please, come in.

No, there's a different purpose altogether that makes her move in his direction, raising an eyebrow and walking along with him when he passes. ]
You're helping out?
[ Not judging or anything, just.. a little confused.. ]
no subject
Shit.]
Ange-san. Ah, yes well. I am trying to.
no subject
[ It's a surprised little sound. But even though her reaction may not be the most helpful, at least Ange does bother to bend down and grab the box that fell, putting its contents back in there before holding it herself for the moment.
If not just because Ange definitely isn't tall enough to put that back onto the stack. No way she could reach. ]
I didn't expect you to be roped into this. Is one of the locals blackmailing you or something?
[ Ange, do you think that's the only possible reason Akechi would help out... ]
no subject
Is that truly the impression you have of me?
[Akechi just groans, shifting his hold on the boxes better on his arms. Luckily enough, they weren't too heavy to carry but he'd rather not to keep his arms up like this for too long, thanks.]

A
[Levi was between tasks the locals had bullied him into anyway so he had some time.]
What are we moving and where?
[Outwardly Levi's scrawny build and baby face probably don't inspire much confidence in his strength. But despite that he was in pretty good shape, both the army and the orphanage in his past had their share of manual labor.]
a;
Sure, I'd be glad to!
[He even pumps a lil fist demonstratively. (Being embarrassing is another of those strong suits)]
no subject
Right. [You know what. He's going to ignore that. At least the man does look capable to help with the heavy lifting?] This way, please.
[He says and points to his left before leading the man towards the big boulder blocking an entrance to building.]
no subject
Instead:]
Yeah, I can do that easy. Any place you want it in particular?
no subject
Akechi raises a curious brow when Kotetsu claims the task to be piece of cake. The boulder, after all, is big enough to require at least several men to move it safely. But alright.]
Well, then. If you don't mind, can you move it to the side further away from the road. We will be mining it into smaller pieces later.
