[open/mingle] everyone needs a hobby
Who: anyone in Aldrip who wants a hobby
Where: Kotone's club building!
What: It's finally time... forschool clubs to be available.
Warnings: None as of yet, but please let me know if I need to edit this!
There's been a building under construction at the edge of town for a few months now; it looks as though at one point it had been a small warehouse for dry goods and storage that hadn't seen use in quite some time before being acquired by Kotone. When time allowed, she's been working on retrofitting it into what could almost (almost) be mistaken for a school practice building on the inside. Now, a sign has been posted on the open door, quite descriptively labeling it as Club Building Now Open!! Come in!!
Interested in starting a sports team, or just want somewhere indoors and relatively open? There's a volleyball net, balls, and various other kinds of sports equipment that Kotone was able to find/buy/acquire around town for the months she's been preparing. There are also some (wooden practice) weapons available for training and sparring, and a few lockers and showers nearby. They're available for anyone to use at any time, though if anyone breaks a window with her things, she'll be so disappointed and expect help fixing it. :(
While not true classrooms in that there's no school and not very many desks, there are several empty rooms available to be repurposed into an activity room. In one room, one can find a very small assortment of musical instruments; in another, a few easels and art supplies. Another room that's far better outfitted is a room with a cute handwritten sign reading Sewing Club! 💖 on its door. Inside, as one might expect, there are two dressforms and several bolts of cloth alongside some Aldrip-style (read: vintage) sewing machines, as well as plenty of needles and thread.
One of the places that had taken her the longest to set up was the galley-style kitchen and tables. While it may not be the most modern or ornate kitchen in the world, it features the kind of appliances the Chosen would expect to find in Aldrip. It's very much a bring-your-own-ingredients situation, aside from basic spices and bulk staples that are available for anyone -- Kotone doesn't exactly have the same kind of funding a real school's Cooking Club would have, after all! -- but perhaps more importantly, it has a decent selection of pans, trays, and other cooking and baking supplies in the cabinets and cupboards.
Shinjiro has posted a simple sign that says "Cooking Club" on the door. Another sign says "Wash your hands."
What would a protagonist's building be without a flat roof to climb up to and stare wistfully into the distance? It's a roof. There's a few benches, or you can just stand on it. Be careful!!

But Tsuna is right about that. There's... a lot of people here who can do strange things, or who have bodies that are different. Shinichi's honestly startled by just how many. ]
It definitely wasn't easy. I um.... I couldn't even tell my parents. Or any of my friends. [ Guilt needles deep within him, and Shinichi's mouth slowly forms a frown. ]
Coming here, to this club.... I feel pretty guilty about it. Because here I am, telling people about what's wrong with me, but I didn't even tell my mom and dad, you know?

[He still feels guilty that he keeps his Mom in the dark about most of these things. And the time that he kept things from Haru and Kyoko-chan.]
My mom doesn't really know anything about my abilities. And I don't really want to tell her. But I've also found that not telling anyone, or deliberately keeping people in the dark, can go wrong as well.
But, maybe you can see this as a trial run, and if you get the chance, you can tell your parents then. If you're ready.

He's giving a soft nod to the words — it really can go wrong. Shinichi's seen that more than once, how keeping secrets from his loved ones can make some things worse. But..... for him, there literally is no other option. A fact he hesitates to share, just because of what it involves. He pauses, shifting nervously, before he finally speaks up again with a soft sigh. ]
Unfortunately.... I can't ever tell them. That um... infection thing I mentioned? It sort of has its own... sentience. And it forbade me from telling anyone back home, or else.... or else it'd do something horrible. To me. To them.
[ Shinichi swallows, glancing down at his right hand for a moment. Migi's threats have never left his mind. It's indescribable, having something like that attached to his own body. Sometimes he still can't believe this is real. ]
It only lets me tell people about it here in this place because.... things are different.

[Tsuna blinks. Because sentient infection was definitely not what he was expecting. Nor does he know how to deal with it, beyond the thought that he thought the Mafia was bad. (Vaguely, it sounds like Reborn, but worse).]

It... does, I think. It's pretty nerve-racking, but.... being able to even tell people about what's wrong with me at all... I guess in some way it feels like a bit of weight lifted off my mind, too.
[ He looks up at Tsuna again. ]
What about you? Do you feel.. okay telling people here, about what you can do? Even joining this club.... it feels like a pretty big deal.

[At least, about his powers. He can divorce them from their origins and just not mention any of the mafia involvement, at least. He doesn't even have to mention how he initially got them. (Most people probably wouldn't be thrilled to learn he's been shot by magic bullets on multiple occasions by a two-year-old hitman. Yeah, there's still some parts of his life he boggles over.]
I mean, it helps that other people have abilities to, which makes it easier. If people didn't...I probably wouldn't say anything honestly.

I understand what you mean. I'd probably have to keep it to myself too, so..... it's kind of relieving that we don't have to....!
So do you think you'll really join? I guess I'm still thinking about it, but Scott seems really nice, and like a good leader.... I think this might be okay.

And you're right about Scott. He seems like a good guy.
[And this seems like as good a place as any to start making them, since he's on his own right now. It's kind of nice to join a group and not be immediately thrust into the position of leadership.
