Who: The Sentenced & Their Enforcers Where: Aldrip Training Grounds What: Group sentencing activity that requires cooperation! It's time for some restoration work after a tragic fire to this location that remains a pillar of community togetherness.
“What is your point?” If he were more interested in actually minding his charges Hiei wouldn’t have bothered with the conversation at all. But considering there are consequences he does not want to deal with associated with helping and simply getting things done as fast as he personally can …
Here he is instead occupying a conversation he isn’t fond of for some bite of entertainment. Other than attempting to spy out fruit or something interesting in the tree branches, anyway.
“I am supposedly not the one being punished, here, despite all evidence to the contrary. It is not my task despite how painfully slow most of it is being accomplished or how fast I could achieve the same.”
Aloy's mostly genuinely doubtful, though she can think of one or two people who would answer that by trying to prove her wrong. So much the better if he does. For now, she's just looking at him with a stubborn set to her expression.
"The effect is lacking on your slow, untrained eyes." But he's going to show her anyway - fast enough that it looks like he has not gone anywhere at all by the after image he leaves behind. The image hasn't even started to fade by the time he alights at Aloy's side, arms crossed and looking just about as bored as he had been on his perch.
But only one Hiei speaks, of course, tone about as ingratiating as he can make it.
The little man is very frustrating, isn’t he. She sees more in the world than most, though Aloy does have to restrain a flinch when Hiei speaks next to her. And since she’s frustrated, she’s not all that inclined to acknowledge that he actually has proven his point.
She sniffs, and looks around.
“Oh.” Finally glancing down at him, and putting on an unimpressed tone. “Only fast enough to clean it up, and then put it all back?”
Infuriating is in his blood. It’s unbelievable that he and Yukina are twins. Same womb and all.
He’s smirking all the same as she glances down, knowing despite the non reaction that he’s proven his point. His name hasn’t been flying shadow all his life for no reason at all.
“I would prefer to be uninvolved. But my partner insisted I be here so that we did not fail.” A sigh. The things he puts up with to keep Kurama at least willing to put up with him. Truly, he is put upon sitting here and baby sitting.
