June Sentencing

Who: The Sentenced & Their Enforcers
Where: Aldrip Training Grounds
What: Group sentencing activity that requires cooperation! It's time for some restoration work after a tragic fire to this location that remains a pillar of community togetherness.

Sentencing: Community Service Edition

Community Service Group Therapy

The training grounds had unfortunately sustained fire damage thanks to an arson attack. The fire spread to burn the grass, some brush and trees and there are skeletons of the frames left over from tents where it burned. A few straw practice dummies were also singed in the process, but they have lived to be beaten on another day!

The damage could have been much worse, of course! Thanks to the fast acting and thinking of some of Aldrips finest, the fire was contained and extinguished. They have saved this gathering place of skill and story sharing from complete ruination, but now it needs to be restored to its former glory.

Six Chosen have been found guilty of various crimes around the city this month, and so their task is a restoration project of the grounds. These Chosen will show up at the grounds in a timely manner (or else someone might need to retrieve them for duty) to start their tasks. It will be obvious who they are as they are outfitted in tacky yellow work coveralls with reflective stripes; this will be over whatever normal clothing they may be wearing.

The six community service Chosen are: Jinx, Silco, Beta, Echo, A2, and Fandaniel. Surely they will all get along and work hard on this task and not be difficult about it, right?

Well, to ensure that they complete the restoration project are their team of wranglers enforcers who are responsible for saving the training grounds in the first place! The heroes of Aldrip have been provided little badges from Jerry that designates their authority to oversee the tasks at hand for this restoration project.

Their task is to see that the job is completed and done well by however means necessary except they are not allowed to participate in the activities. They need to oversee their wayward charges and are exempt from recourse for whatever it is they need to do to convince the Chosen, and the native population and other Chosen may drop by to observe the work and maybe cheer everyone on (or heckle).

The eight community service enforcers are: Gadriel, Hiei, Kurama, Fauna, Morph, Rogue, Kuwabara, and Scott Summers

The tasks that need to be completed are:
• Laying new sod over the damaged grass areas. Alternatively, hauling in gravel stones to fill the areas.

• Tree trimming to remove damaged hazardous branches

• Remove damaged tents and then construct the metal skeletons of new ones before adding canvas material over them so they are good as new. How-to instructions will be provided (think IKEA-type)

• Building bird nests to replace those lost in the fire. Think of the children!

• Gardening! This place needs a spruce up and what better way to do that than enhance it by constructing raised garden beds. All the materials are provided including plants.

• Garbage collection. You know what to do. Take up your bag and extendiarm and get out there to collect the rubbish.

NOTES

• The six convicted Chosen cannot wander away from the training grounds during their shift or else they suffer from physical ailments.

• The enforcers may work one-on-one with a sentenced Chosen, game plan between each other or double-team sentenced Chosen into doing their tasks.

• Threads do not need to be completed by July 9th for success or failure on both teams. They do need to be started and in progress by this date.

• If the rest of the community wants to stop by, they can do so. They are not allowed to assist in either the tasks or the enforcement.

"There's plenty of people who don't ask for things they're supposed to do."

Disgruntled. Aloy has responsibility for a world on her shoulders, just don't check into who exactly decided it had to be her.

“What is your point?” If he were more interested in actually minding his charges Hiei wouldn’t have bothered with the conversation at all. But considering there are consequences he does not want to deal with associated with helping and simply getting things done as fast as he personally can …

Here he is instead occupying a conversation he isn’t fond of for some bite of entertainment. Other than attempting to spy out fruit or something interesting in the tree branches, anyway.

“I am supposedly not the one being punished, here, despite all evidence to the contrary. It is not my task despite how painfully slow most of it is being accomplished or how fast I could achieve the same.”

"Can't be that fast."

Aloy's mostly genuinely doubtful, though she can think of one or two people who would answer that by trying to prove her wrong. So much the better if he does. For now, she's just looking at him with a stubborn set to her expression.

"The effect is lacking on your slow, untrained eyes." But he's going to show her anyway - fast enough that it looks like he has not gone anywhere at all by the after image he leaves behind. The image hasn't even started to fade by the time he alights at Aloy's side, arms crossed and looking just about as bored as he had been on his perch.

But only one Hiei speaks, of course, tone about as ingratiating as he can make it.

"Did you even see when I left?"

Slow, untrained eyes?

The little man is very frustrating, isn’t he. She sees more in the world than most, though Aloy does have to restrain a flinch when Hiei speaks next to her. And since she’s frustrated, she’s not all that inclined to acknowledge that he actually has proven his point.

She sniffs, and looks around.

“Oh.” Finally glancing down at him, and putting on an unimpressed tone. “Only fast enough to clean it up, and then put it all back?”
jaganshi: (there's nothing left)

Infuriating is in his blood. It’s unbelievable that he and Yukina are twins. Same womb and all.

He’s smirking all the same as she glances down, knowing despite the non reaction that he’s proven his point. His name hasn’t been flying shadow all his life for no reason at all.

“I would prefer to be uninvolved. But my partner insisted I be here so that we did not fail.” A sigh. The things he puts up with to keep Kurama at least willing to put up with him. Truly, he is put upon sitting here and baby sitting.
