It's the world destroying part that I'm familiar with. [ Ange pauses, and in that pause she seems to realize how that sounds, so the girl adds: ] From them, I mean.
[ Before this guy starts assuming that she's also some sort of world destroyer.. Please, that's the furthest thing from what she is. ]
I usually just see them causing pain. Killing people. That sort of stuff. I have never seen them do it for love. More just for their own amusement.
[ In Gilgamesh's eyes. Love and Hate are two sides of the same coin. If they do it for amusement, that means they like humans enough to kill them. Twisted, yes, but it was logical. You love, therefore you kill. You hate, therefore you kill.
Of course, there's always indifference, but that was different. Like Ange herself. ]
Of course, what type of person would admit that they would say it was for love? From what it sounds like, those witches you are familiar with are prideful.
Gilgamesh, the girl is just staring at you for a moment. She seems a little bit surprised. It's not there in a huge way, considering her poker face is pretty impressive, but it sure is showing up in her eyes a little in this moment. ]
You think murder is a kind of affection?
[ Maybe this guy actually is on the same level of crazy as those witches, Ange thinks. ]
[ He actually happens to put it in a very specific way that Ange can understand now. Still not on a personal level, but that does kind of sound like the way her mother thought in the past, doesn't it..
.. awkward that that happens to be the very first example she thinks of. Maybe that's why she doesn't bring it up to the guy.
Instead she just looks right at him before saying: ]
Have you ever loved someone like that before?
[ Perfectly normal answer to ask a stranger in such a straightforward way, right.. ]
[ For such a straightforward question, Gilgamesh can only response accordingly! ]
No. I have not. Let alone fall in love.
[ Sounds like the biggest lie, but it was the truth. Gilgamesh wouldn't "love" unless that person truly understood his character or was a traveling companion, but even then, he didn't accept those types so easily in his life.
He can lust, though. That's a whole different story. ]
However, giving my love is a different topic altogether. I am a King. To love my people is a given.
[ Even though he is a tyrant. Tough love, one might say. ]
[ There's really no way for Ange to tell whether or not he's lying here - but she just decides to accept his words for what they are. Even if he would be lying, it's not like he's really getting anything out of it, she thinks. ]
I don't think that's necessarily a given. [ She instead points out - very casually still. ] If you look at history, aren't there a whole lot of kings who were incredibly shitty towards the people they ruled over?
[ Gilgamesh shakes his head. Of course, he won't deny history and how other kings act towards their subjects and people. That's none of his business. ]
If the people cannot give results to their ruler, why should the ruler provide care? There are only two choices.
Hah, a little girl like you would say such a thing.
[ Which is understandable. He wasn't narrow-minded. Not everybody could be a King. Not everybody could understand the pressure and hardships. Therefore, Gilgamesh would not expect anything from Ange. ]
[ It's the truth. After all, the ones who made their names known in history were usually tyrants. There were a few kings who devoted their lives to chivalry, but that is useless when it comes to ruling the masses. ]
If I spout nonsense like chivalry, my dynasty would fall to ruin on the first day.

[ His roar of laughter died down as the King of Heroes took his glass to sip from it. ]
It would be rude of me to tell you their love stories but hmm...let's just say that they will destroy the world for the one they love.

[ Ever heard of Yanderes? ]
When you love a person deeply, do you think you want them to fall for another person, especially when they reject you?
[ Gilgamesh leaned back in his chair. Uncaring how Ange was looking at him. ]
It's the strongest form of affection.

Become a tyrant or a martyr.
One choice is better than the other.
no subject
You think one of those is better than the other?
[ Granted, she's not a king. Far from it. She would actually never even want to be a king, given the opportunity.
But that doesn't mean she can't still think about this - and have a pretty strong opinion. ]
They both suck.

As I expected from a mongrel.

Apparently she's not even all that offended by 'mongrel'.. either that, or she's very good at not showing it. ]
Are you saying you have experience? Have you been both of those things?
