[Octavian shrugs; he truly has had no reason to be interested in the goings-on around town. So little of it applies to him, arguments about survival or remaining in this world or whatever else.
In any case, it's not as if Richard has kept up with his business either, so they're even.]
I have always been frank about my work. Yes. Unlike what so many of you think I am not deceiving you all. The terrifying spectre committing obscure acts of terrible magics.
[Building a zombie army or trying to control people via their blood, and so on. Why would he do any of that.]
[Having been gently and insistently bullied into taking a seat at a table, by the time A2 has sat down, her annoyance has reached critical levels. When she sees who she's been paired with, there's a long suffering sigh.
This guy again...
A2 scowls down at the question sheet she's been given, expression growing more perplexed as she skims through the list.]
What the hell is this...? [Some of these questions were... very personal. Alarmingly so.] Ugh. Fine! Ask me a question. [She demands, because she's a brat.] And it better not be any of these [she pulls a face, and with audible disgust:] romance questions.
[ of course they are eventually sat at the same table. viktor never had any intentions to participate, but one of the locals pulling him in despite his protests messed with those plans, and well, here he is — and octavian and their little robot opposite him is enough to make him smile, for the first time since he'd been roped into this whole charade.
and he keeps smiling as octavian fires the questions at him, and then starts in reverse order, ]
34. No. [ a pause. the side of his mouth quirks up at the same time as his eyebrow. ] Colcothar. [ ferric oxide — notably red, though he maintains its various phases are fascinating... but the main point here is that it's red like octavian's home planet, hence that it reminds him of octavian. this is how scientists flirt, apparently, ]
[ at some nebulous time after he has received his little trinket box containing not just the holiday-appropriate trinket but the bracelet, too, after he's got clinging to his boyfriend out of his system (for now), he's back here, mostly to do what octavian has been doing way before him — touching everything, because there's a delight in being able to feel textures, temperatures, to actually interact with the world and feel the world in return.
perhaps most importantly, though, that world means people, and more specifically people who matter to him. and so when he sees octavian, following his little robot around, charles changes direction immediately and beelines for him. ]
Octavian!! [ it's an exuberant yell, but so is what follows: charles, promptly forgoing greetings to instead just draw octavian into a hug, with enough enthusiasm to actually lift him up — octavian isn't too much shorter than him, but enough for this, apparently. ]
[ wow. so not only does she not have a sense for adventure, she doesn't even have any sense of wonder too! haruhi shakes her head. ]
Of course they do. You have to know that there's so much stuff out there that people have forgotten or tossed away trying to hide it. The world-- [ oh, wait. ] Worlds are pretty big, there's no way everyone's actually found everything.
It doesn't sound like whoever's in charge wasn't that smart to begin with. The only one "in charge" that I've heard of so far is some middle aged old guy.
[ she doesn't know anything about jerry, but honestly, eat shit jerry. ]
If they're messed up enough, they could give us a clue but it's more like a red herring. I really don't know.
[ Hiei... well. This entire thing is not really his style. The little fire demon is chronically bad with his emotions, and prefers not to deal with them if he does not have to. Unfortunately, he is yet again met with a party that very much wishes to expose him, or at least in his paranoid mind does, and treads carefully through the little festival space.
Almost like he expects a steel trap to spring out of nowhere, actually.
At least until his eyes fall on to a bird he immediately recognises as phoenix on... a girl's shoulder. The little apparition's head tips, and curiosity drives him toward the bar without thought toward having a drink. He is also incredibly bad at anything like delicacy, which is why Kotone's cheerful question is immediately shoved aside so that he can ask his own. ]
Why is the phoenix with you? [ The last time he'd seen this bird throwing fire at him, she'd been with Scott. He'll never claim to care about the teen's whereabouts but.. this is odd. ]
