[ Hiei fails to note (in classic form) that literally all of these plants in Kurama's hands can become weapons. They are practically living in Kurama's gun vault, if he really thinks about it, but the fire demon has little to falter over with that knowledge. Though they have not known one another long in the demon sense of things...
They've been through a lot of shit in that span of time, to make a long story short. From Hiei being badly injured on their first chance meeting to stealing from Spirit World and being force to go along with Yusuke.. there's been more life or death choices involved than Hiei would like to admit. So living in a literal weapons vault for a centuries old demon in an unassuming human body? Why the hell not?
The fire demon gets right to work feeding his little bug-eating children at least, intent on the job as he squats down, rather efficient by now at sizing up what he's brought and which bloom is best for what he's gathered. The job is done quickly at least, his jar of treats lidded and left exactly where he's last put it down.
One of Hiei's worst habits is that he tends to leave his stuff literally everywhere. ]
That should do for a few days at least. [ With that done Hiei gestures to the stairs for Scott, walking to the banister before making the routine motion of simply hopping down.
... No, he never uses the stairs. ]
This one will be fast. It's just everyone else's bedrooms.
[Honestly, it's kind of neat watching those plants eat the bugs. A little like watching nature do its thing. Cool.
There might be a snide comment or two from Scott, his mumblings sounding something like 'why even have stairs' as he walks down the next set. Well, the fact that he's using them right now probably answers his question, but whatever. It's clear that Hiei never uses them like a normal person. Demon. He's going to give Kurama a stink eye if he also just jumps down to the next floor.
Scott really is getting the full tour though, huh? Maybe it's a sign of trust from Hiei. Kind of nice if he's feeling nice and charitable, which, he shouldn't be, after all the shit from earlier.]
...It's a nice place. [He idly comments, nodding as if telling Hiei to continue still.]
Because the others like to use them. [ Hiei answers as Scott comes in to view - perfectly able to hear the other man's mumblings simply thanks to his inhuman ability to hear. Yukina and Kuwabara weren't the type to hop the stairs at all, though Hiei won't mention that much.
No doubt he'll get teased if he tells on himself for paying attention to the others' habits or something. He isn't really in the mood to find out at the moment. ]
Kurama's design. [ As if anyone else could be trusted to find plans like this, or think of anything like it. Hiei's still annoyed his favorite tree is now encased in glass, but.. it is nice to have everyone he knows and trusts in one spot, too.
Still, the fire demon makes a general motion left and right, before offering: ]
Yukina, Kuwabara, and Urameshi sleep here. I'm not going to show you their rooms, though you may be able to smell Yusuke's from here..
Scott pictures Yukina as someone that always uses the stairs. Probably Kuwabara?? Kurama too, hopefully. He can see Yusuke as someone that jumps down, based on their prior conversations. He likes the other teen, but he definitely has That Energy. Kind of like how it makes complete sense that all of this is Kurama's design. Yeah. Hard to really imagine the others designing a place like this, despite not knowing the fox demon all that well. He just seemed like... the smartest. What?????]
Yeah. I smell it.
[Maybe because of Hiei's words that it really adopts the smell coming from Yusuke's room, a certain stench of general uncleanliness hitting Scott's nose and making his face scrunch. Shit, tell him he was never this bad before Kotone got on his case for cleaning his room.] I don't think I'd go there even if I wanted to.
[ Most of the time here he hates that he can hear so well too, Scott. Don't worry. In their world his Jagan and demonic heightened senses are a boon and here...
He hears a little too much. More than he would like to most days, which is why he ends up in trees, napping, to shut his brain off for a little while.
At any rate he's chuckling lowly as Scott confirms he can smell stinky human teen, giving Kuwabara at least a moment's compliment as he gestures the opposite way. ]
Kuwabara hasn't been here long enough, yet.
[ When asked about his room Hiei simply points to the tree central to the house and then... up. He's indicating some of the taller branches where he prefers to sleep, of course, slouched down in the crook of a tree bough with his hands behind his head. ]
I don't need a room down here. I sleep in the tree.
[ and persists in leaving his shit everywhere around the house. ]
[There's a pause as Scott takes a long, good look at the tree once more, head tilting up to take in its overall height and the branches that come out from it. Impressive, yeah, but still just a tree. And sure, Hiei mentioned that this was his favorite, but he didn't think he'd actually sleep it in all the time. He sort of assumed that he would still have his own room.
Suddenly, this explains why he saw some of Hiei's items in Kurama's room. Uh-huh.
He slowly looks back down, head tilting over to look at the short demon and--]
A cat? [ Hiei repeats it with a little wrinkle of his nose, as if he isn't quite sure where the hell Scott would pull that question from. It is far from the first time he's heard the cat comparison. The cats here actually tend to follow him around, particularly at the farm when he is there, but he fails to see the resemblance in the moment.
He casts a glance to the tree, and then back to Scott before he comments in his.. well.
Usual way. ]
Idiot. Start your slow way down the stairs.
[ Because he is hopping over for the final floor of the house without further comment on the cat accusation. ]
[Is he going to offer an explanation for the comparison? Nah, especially since Hiei doesn't seem all that interested in hearing his reasoning. Scott will just be satisfied with the knowledge that he is 100% right about his assessment about the fire demon. He lives in trees, has a certain Attitude, and other cats like to crowd around Hiei. What other reasons does he need?
So, yeah.
He'll just walk down the final flight of stairs so that he can meet Hiei at the last floor.]
The kitchen is over there - [ Lots of evidence of Hiei's snacking is about, actually. Thankfully Scott won't get a demonstration of Hiei physically on the counter to crouch over his snacks to eat them right this moment, though who knows. There is a lot of time in the future for him to witness the fire demon's feral habits. ]
And then the.. [ Nose wrinkles again as Hiei makes a general motion, trying to conjure up the words. ] ... Dining room and living room things.
The communal areas are all on this floor so it's where it's most chaotic a lot of the time. Especially now that Kuwabara is here.
[ The teen is loud and Hiei has sensitive little ears, obviously, but beyond that it is his national passtime to pick on Kazuma Kuwabara as much as possible just because he can. Call it his petty little revenge for the crush on Yukina or something like that. Hiei's hands tuck into his pockets, then, assuming his usual casual stance. ]
