[ Ange nods at him, and then leads him through the entrance of the mansion. Once they enter the large entrance hall, it seems like she doesn't even have to bring him further towards what she was looking for - it seems like it's right here.
Because there are three bodies lying on the ground in said entrance hall. They're not right next to each other, but a little bit more spread out - and their clothes slightly in disarray, like some sort of struggle happened here. Two of the bodies are men, the other one a woman, with one of the men having a similar golden wing-like symbol on his clothes that Ange has on her own clothes as well.
What might stand out even more is the fact that there are weird metal stakes sticking out of the bodies. There's one in the forehead of the man who wears the same symbol as Ange, one in the upper chest of the other male body, and one sticking in the stomach of the female body.
Ange stands there, unmoving. Her facial expression is hard to read as she stares at the bodies, suddenly having gone cold, back to her usual poker face. She doesn't turn to look at Tsuna at all though - like she only has an eye for the bodies. ]
[Tsuna stumbles back a bit at the sight before catching and steeling himself. Ange is counting on him. And well, it's not like he hasn't seen scenes like this before. It's just, always unpleasant. Especially knowing these are her parents. He doesn't even want to imagine his like this.]
I...I'm sorry.
[He takes a breath.]
Do...do you know what happened here? Or is that what we need to find out?
The witch said she killed them by sending those stakes flying into them. [ The girl comments, taking a few steps in the direction of the bodies. ] But we have to prove she's wrong. That this could have been done by a human, not a witch.
[ So it seems that Tsuna's latter guess is what's up here. Especially since - if he looks around - it doesn't seem like there are any weapons lying there in the hallway either. Even if he looks around, there can't be anything remotely weapon-like found in this room, other than the stakes embedded into the corpses. ]
[ Ange glances at him. There's something a little annoyed - or maybe just frustrated - in her gaze as she does so, though she tries to remind herself that he doesn't know. That's why he's asking something that ought to be so obvious.
It's harder and harder to keep herself calm in this situation though. It feels like she's so close. Like this is the only chance she will get. That she has to solve this now. Some pressure weighing down on her shoulders. ]
It can't have been magic, because magic isn't real.
[ Ange doesn't seem to mention it or perhaps even notice it, but if Tsuna looks away from the scene to look at her, he may notice that something odd is happening with Ange - blood is slowly starting to seep out of her nose, like she's having a nosebleed. ]
[Normally, Tsuna would agree with her. But with coming to Expiation, never mind his own world, he's certainly seen enough strange things to potentially qualify it all as magic.
But that needs to be set aside right now.]
Well, then just have to find clues that it's not, right? Like, wires or magnets or something like that.
But you should maybe sit down, Ange-san. I think you've got a nosebleed.
[ Her answer is quick - and not even in a friendly way. Ange sounds so rushed that her words are sounding snappy as she speaks them. Not that she's mad at him in particular, but.. it seems like there's something about this situation that's getting her worked up.
And apparently it's not even her nosebleed, considering she hardly even seems to be paying attention to that. ]
Don't you see? Our time is limited here! [ She gestures at the bodies. ] We need to figure this out now, or I'll never be able to! I'll have to die, never having found out what happened here!
[ Who knows if it's whatever mysteriously caused her nosebleed or just the way she's getting all worked up here, but she's starting to look noticeably more pale with each word she says. ]
[ She stops. It kind of sounds like she choked up mid-sentence there. Like maybe the blood really is having some sort of effect on her, and surely not a good one..
Ange sucks in a breath, but it sounds uneven, like she's even getting breathless from the blood loss.
And yet she speaks. She tries to speak anyway, even though it sounds like it pains her to just do that. ]
[ Ange breathes out, and it sounds shaky - though that's probably not that surprising, given her current physical state. It's like the girl is starting to look more and more weak with each passing moment. ]
How.. [ Another breath. It seems like it's even hard for her to just talk now. ] How are we friends..?
[ Even with her skin so pale and her gaze a little bit out of it, she still stares at him. ]
I.. I don't know if I can. [ She finally says. It seems like she's accepting his words, at least-- or rather, she isn't denying them anymore. Instead she's focusing on his plea.
Like she wants to stay in return for him saying something so weirdly kind, but she knows it isn't that easy. ]
[There's some weight behind his words, even if there's also fear and worry and confusion. So much has happened in so little a time that it's difficult to process. And he's not even sure if he wants to.]
I wanted to try. [ She says - very slowly. Ange gazes at their surroundings. The empty hall. The bodies. Then her gaze travels back to Tsuna instead. ]
I thought I could keep on going as long as I was still.. finding out the truth. That was my one goal.. [ Even when she was stuck in this place, so far away from home. The thought of going back there and uncovering the truth helped. ] But now I don't know if I ever will.
[ At least it ties back everything Ange is saying to their current circumstances. Maybe that's why Tsuna got to see this in her dream. It's so closely tied to Ange's deepest desire, the one thing she's never been able to do. ]
[There's some part of Tsuna that knows this is a dream. Or at least, thinks it has to be. This can't be real. But it's a little hard to listen to that part right now. ]
[ The emphasis in that sentence is on the can not the you - suggesting that Ange is blaming circumstances more than Tsuna or Tsuna's own abilities. She doesn't really think anyone can help her.
As the girl starts to look weaker, she collapses onto the ground, sitting there on her knees. Like her legs are too weak to hold up the rest of her body anymore. ]
Though it's.. nice of you to want to try, I guess..
[ It does help - especially since Tsuna might notice that Ange feels weirdly light. Light enough that even he shouldn't have much trouble keeping her up right now.
Ange doesn't notice it though. She hardly even seemed to notice her own near-collapse. Instead she just says: ]
You think you can do everything..? [ It doesn't really sound like an accusation. Instead it almost - almost! - founds faintly amused, though mostly just tired. ] Is that the kind of confidence being a mafia boss gives you..?
[ She slowly exhales. What he says feels so-- It feels so silly, she thinks. There's something so silly about feeling like she's dying, while he's just so.. simply confident.
She wonders what it feels like to feel that way. But it also makes her realize something else. ]
This.. isn't real, huh?
[ It can't be. This entire situation feels too silly for it to be real. ]
[ Ange lets out a little sound. It might have been a laugh - if it wasn't for Ange's physical state, or even the fact that she usually doesn't really laugh.
But it's close. Mostly because she's having a little inside joke with herself, speaking up to Tsuna with: ]

[That part is non-negotiable, after all. Ange needs help. It's as simple as that.]
I'll do my best!

Those are my parents. And one of my uncles.

Okay. Okay, we can do that but we're not going to be able to to if we panic.
You just rest, and I'll start looking.
But I really think you need to sit down. You don't look well.
