Ugh why did he have to chuckle like that, and why were they all so cheerful and upbeat all the time. This was the reason why she didn't talk to other Yordle other than when she absolutely had to, and well when it was her uncle, or her parents.
"Yeah, places like this. What's it called anyway?"
Learning back a little Vex let the shadow catch her and lift her as she sat her feet just off of the ground. She was tired of standing.
"Because it's magic, but everyone wants it all to be flashy and colorful so they don't think about the really cool things like this. It was all because of that black mist. And usually he does whatever I ask."
Heimerdinger did try to look on the bright side of life, most of the time, it's true. However when Vex brings up magic, he can't help but throw a sideways glance towards the shadow, seeming a bit more wary of both her and it. He's not going to say anything about it, though. Not unless it tries anything.
"I don't quite know the place's name just yet. I only just escaped a coffin of my own a short while ago."
Vex didn't seem to react to wariness, most Yordles didn't really get her and seemed to think that she was something of an anomaly; which she was but it was because she understood how pointless everything was.
"You don't know either huh? Maybe it doesn't have one."
Guess everyone got here in a coffin, if it weren't for the festive decorations this would be her kind of place.
"Not that it really matters, I'm sure someone will show up and go on and on about it. Or have some big speech about why we're here."
"Oh, I don't see why it wouldn't!" He sweeps an arm to gesture towards the tall, architecturally complex buildings around them. "You don't just go building a city like this without giving it a name."
He should know, he helped build Piltover, after all.
"I would like to know why we're here, though. Either with a big speech or without one."
Vex just rolled her eyes at the gesture, it wasn't like it would matter, someone would just come along and tear it down, or change the name and everything about it, or the whole place would just collapse eventually anyway.
"Does it really matter?"
Of course just then there was a breeze a parchment drifted by and was snagged by the shadow, which tried offering it to Vex once more.
"Ugh, I already said I don't want to read it. Toss it."
Balling it up the shadow just tossed it as it rolled towards the other Yordle.
"This place is probably just a bunch of normies like everywhere else."
Never one to look the other way at littering, Heimerdinger is quick to pick up the balled-up note. He glances over to make sure the younger Yordle's attention is elsewhere, before unrolling it to sneak a peak. When he sees what is written on it, his eyes go wide, and he quickly balls it back up again and shoves it deep into a pocket.
Clearing his throat, he steps up and tries to act like nothing just happened.
"Hm, yes, well. All the same, if we're here and we have no ideas on how to return to where we ought to be, we'd better try to get some more information."
And he'd better keep an eye on her to make sure she didn't try anything... out of hand.
As the paper was discarded Vex, turned her attention to another one of the nearby coffins, this one already open and vacant. Again it would have been just her style, if it weren't for the garish colors that were painted on the outside, and the tinsel that was hanging from it.
Hearing the other Yordle start back up she rolled her eyes, her arms swinging out a bit as she turned back around.
"And just where are we supposed to do that? Not like we have a map or anything. Or anyone that's just handing out information. Besides it's clear where they think we should be, inside the coffins."
(seems plausible and likely enough lol)
