(OPEN MINGLE) Ain't no party like an Aldrip party

Who: The Chosen
Where: Aldrip inn
What: Open mingle log (with mod approval)!
Warnings: Nothing major anticipated, other than light (underaged) drinking and comic mischief, but PM me if any warn-worthy things happen and I can update this space.

Feel free to use this log as a completely open mingle for all characters new and old! There will be a few prompts below the cut, but you're free mess around with them or come up with your own ideas for toplevels, and tag around as you please.

Nestled in the heart of the quaint town of Aldrip, the inn, formally known as The Inn, has housed the Chosen of Expiation since their initial arrival. In spite of the occasional influx of new Chosen, they've dedicatedly provided rooms, food and drink, and basic amenities without buckling—even during the food shortages and other issues that have plagued the town. Of course, the Chosen have been no slouches themselves, repaying the hospitality with mercenary work, hunting and fishing, cooking, completing odd jobs, and much more to help bolster the economy. Even those, er, less magnanimous sorts have benefitted from this give-and-take, although there are those that prefer their living space to be a bit more solitary (or perhaps cave-ier) that might not have noticed as much.

In the days to follow, most won't be able to recount exactly how The Party started. The true story is that one particular new arrival, after having spent a day or two scouting the area out and, deciding it's chill enough, opted to do what he does best: be a public menace. What is known is that rounds of drinks start getting ordered and handed out, and soon platters of cheese, fresh bread, and other victuals make the rounds as well, appearing on tables that quickly begin filling with people. Somehow, someway, local musicians are pulled in to play and given a striking, energetic setlist to set the tone. The word gets out—party at the inn!

And boom: just like that, it's a party, and everyone's invited.

Early on, the offerings are relatively meager. The inn's food stores aren't completely bottomless after the shortages, to say the least, and there are a sight more Chosen (and local residents who also join in on the fun) than there is free food to toss at them. The drinks range from milk, water and juice to scuzzy, pisswater beer, which is a bit more plentiful. As the tavern portion of the inn fills with people, the music relatively ambient so that you can still hear the people at the table next to you talking, others bring their own food and drink, adding to the options on offer.

Others bring things like cards to play with, or dice and coins to gamble with, and set up spaces at tables toward the back. There's even an amateur fortune teller, heavy emphasis on amateur. Maybe you've got some party games of your own in mind, or you're a natural-born performer and want to hit the stage. Maybe you'd rather just grab a pint and lurk in the corner doing some people-watching. Or maybe you're just hungry and want to stuff a bunch of cheese in your pockets for later. Either way, there's something here for everyone.

As evening wears on, the peaceful inn party blossoms into a proper block bash. Even if you're not the partygoing sort, it'd be a little difficult to ignore the sheer ruckus going on downstairs while you attempt to read quietly in your room. The music, chatter and laughter carries on down the street, attracting even more people. By this point, it seems as if the food and drinks have multiplied, thanks mostly in part to others showing up with their own offerings, Chosen and local alike. It's getting rowdy in a few places—the music's louder and livelier, people are dancing and singing, and the gambling/party games' stakes seem to just keep climbing higher and higher. It's a good time all around. If you're not the quiet, loner type, anyway.

Thinking of sitting this one out? Think again: somebody starts going around to all the rooms and knocking on the doors, calling out to come join the fun. By the time you get to the door, though, whoever's up here disturbing the peace is gone, but maybe you can track them down by their voice at some point and wring their neck later.

In addition to the escalating merriment, all this imbibing also has the added benefit of loosening a few lips. Now's your chance to pick up the latest Aldrip gossip! You might even hear tell of a few pesky monsters that need slaying, so if you want to jump on that bounty before anyone else gets to it, you better act quickly. (But maybe don't run out into the woods in the middle of the night to fight monsters while inebriated... or do, nobody's stopping you.)

Late into the night, the festivities are still going, and they're... messy. Fortunately the drinks and provisions seem to have run to the bottom of the barrel, so those that've been partying hard for hours are getting cut off whether they like it or not. The band's getting tired, the tempo of the music fluctuating. Some people might like to go to bed sometime soon, so maybe now it's time for the voices of reason to tell those still dancing on top of the tables to get down. And why is there a chicken in here? ...And oh no, somebody tell those guys to take that swordfight outside!! Yeeaaahh, maybe it's about time to shut this production down.

Or maybe not. Let the good times roll until the sun comes up! That's up to you.

[Akira's hold is steadfast, and he doesn't move.]

I think we've had enough, 'kechi.

Are you ordering me now? I'm your senior, you know. [Except he isn't anymore, is he? Akira has moved past him.]

Fine. If not drinks then let's go out. [Anything but staying here.]

Okay, grandpa. [It's more fun to tease him like he's still older.]

[Reluctantly, he releases Akechi's shoulders.]
...I'll follow you anywhere. [Oops, that was homosexual.]
murderingjustice: (85)

[personal profile] murderingjustice 2023-04-26 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
[That comment only earns a very displeased expression from him. Excuse you, he's mature not a senior citizen!

Akechi takes a deep breath as Akira frees him. He takes a moment for himself before he actually moves from their position, clumsily standing up and stepping away from the privacy of their booth. His legs feel more wobbly than what he'd like but he'll manage it. It feels a little similar to being under a status effect, which he supposes makes only sense.]

Alright, then. Come. [He commands, starting to lead their way towards the exit of the tavern. How's that for homosexual?]

[Akira leans into it-- he'd purposely ignored the suggestion in "let's go out", but this time he Simply Must.]

Wow, at least take me to dinner, first. [He's stumbling a bit, himself, but managing well enough to clamber upright and plod along after Akechi with a mischievous grin quirking one corner of his mouth.]

Sure. I'll make it your last supper. [Well, luckily both of them are able to walk at least semi-straight line? And there doesn't seem to many other party goers around them so they actually make it to the door without bumping into others.

The breeze hitting Akechi's face is a welcomed one as he pushes the door open. The fresh air filling his lungs actually sobers him up a little. Not enough, of course, but it helps him think more clearly.]

[Akira laughs, a bright and boyish burst of sound, catching up to Akechi and bumping gently into his shoulder from behind.] Da Vinci references... Yusuke would be proud.

[personal profile] murderingjustice 2023-04-26 03:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, well. It's good that at least someone from your ragtag group grasps basics of common knowledge. [Never too drunk to insult your friends I'm sorry.

The shoulder bump earns slightly more irritated look.]

Do you have a... Obsession with constantly touching me?
chemex: (0275)

[personal profile] chemex 2023-04-26 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
[His smile turns rueful, and his hands go into his pockets as he takes two wide steps away from him.] Sorry. [He doesn't answer the question.]
murderingjustice: (111)

[personal profile] murderingjustice 2023-04-26 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
[Oh. Don't give him that look. Akechi watches Akira in the moonlight for a moment before letting out a heavy sigh.] You weren't like this before.

[They had never really shared physical contact before aside from the polite handshakes and casual touches here and there. Of course, this could all be blamed for alcohol. Or then things really have changed, like Akira had said. The thought flares a spark of nervousness in his bones.]

Figures you're a needy drunk.
chemex: (0032)

[personal profile] chemex 2023-04-26 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
[He hunches his shoulders, but an easy grin slides across his features in short order.] It's definitely the alcohol-- you don't really like to be touched. I know that, but... It's a lot harder to stop myself, like this? [He's actually a huge affectionate moron, he just doesn't know how to initiate contact and most of his friends do it for him or aren't big touchers. He raises the lower half of his left leg just enough to kick the toe of his sneaker into the ground a few times.]

[His hand finds its usual place from his hips as Akechi switches to his trademark Sassy Gay pose. Look, he might sway a little but it's shhh.]

We're both lucky we can't use our Personas, then. [Or that he doesn't have his gun on him. The whatever force that is in charge of Aldrip truly has annoying sense of humor. Akechi had arrived here with the toy ray gun rather than his real one.]
chemex: (0041)

[personal profile] chemex 2023-04-27 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
[Akira, meanwhile, moves to lean against a railing.] Would you really bust out Loki for me being affectionate? [Aiming to prove a point, he holds out his hand in a beckoning gesture.]
murderingjustice: (105)

[personal profile] murderingjustice 2023-04-27 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
[He looks at the hand stretched out to him. Then, his lips curl up into a smirk and his eyes gain more mischievous gleam. Taking a step forward he takes Akira's hand to his own.]

Do you dare to find out? [Danger, danger.]
chemex: (0096)

[personal profile] chemex 2023-04-27 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
[He curls his fingers around Akechi's, holding eye contact. His voice is quiet, murmured deep in his chest.] ...absolutely I do, yeah. [He shifts his grip on his hand and pulls, gently.]
murderingjustice: ~rosebursts (86)

[personal profile] murderingjustice 2023-04-27 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
[At least the distance between them wasn't that big to begin with so Akechi only needs to take a step and half forward until he's back at Akira's personal space. This time, however, he's being more proactive compared to their time cuddling inside. Carefully, he brushes the curls away from Akira's eyes, staring deep into those grey eyes. After that the hand travels down to rest on his shoulder, adding some slight pressure as he pushes Akira gently to bend backwards.]
chemex: (0002)

[personal profile] chemex 2023-04-27 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh.]

[Oh, Akechi is-- oh. Akira wasn't expecting him to come super close, after all his grousing about touch, so his eyes are wide and unguarded when his curls are pushed away from his face. He goes as directed, arcing backward with a slight confused tilt to his head, but complete and implicit trust in him.]
...now who's obsessed? [His tone isn't mocking in the least, and he's not even quite smiling, just taking in the gesture without knowing fully what it is.]
murderingjustice: ~rosebursts (98)

[personal profile] murderingjustice 2023-04-27 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh, Akira. The shit-eating grin on Akechi's face should be enough to tell you not to trust him. But hey, at least he doesn't bed Akira uncomfortably far before stopping and holding him still. There's almost something sadistic in his eyes as he watches his rival down.]

Hah. You are. [And with that he just.. shoves Akira, making him to fall over the railing he had previously leaned on.]
chemex: (0004)

[personal profile] chemex 2023-04-27 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
[He starts to get a sense that the trust is misplaced, but he still gives it, not fighting against the weight pressed into him. It's not until the words leave Akechi's mouth that Akira realizes he's made a mistake, and he's shoved over the railing.]

[He shouts, and he's not coordinated enough to flip himself around and actually get ahold of the railing again, though he definitely tries. Akechi might catch the brief betrayed look on his face before he drops off the side of-- whatever it is they're standing on. Some kind of landing, overlooking-- water. It isn't deep, but there's a splash, and Akira winds up on his ass, Downed in just enough water to soak everything he's wearing.]

[He stays still a minute, effectively sobered by the fall and the water, and just stares at his knees.]
Right, ha. Forgot how much of a complete asshole you are. [Does this make it worse that he's still into it? He glances up, knowing if Akechi hasn't walked away he's just going to look smug, but looking anyway.]
murderingjustice: ~antibiotical (13)

[personal profile] murderingjustice 2023-04-27 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
[Damn right he's smug. Leaning over the rail, the true chekhov's gun of the night, Akechi looks almost ridiculously satisfied with himself while watching down on soaked Akira. He's not going to walk away just yet, he needs to see the result of his betrayal like a goddamn anime-villain he is, taking in his miserable state.]

Oh, Joker. [He purrs, really rolling that 'r'.] Here I believed you had learned your lesson when it comes to trusting me.

[at least the fall wasn't a big?? Akira might have bruised ass but otherwise he ought to be fine, aside from hurt pride and trust.]

Apparently not, [It's mumbled under his breath, and he picks himself up to stand, soggy, and look for the easiest way out of the water. It's a bit of a trek, so he looks up sharply.] Stay there.

[He trudges through the water and out, climbing his way back onto a path leading back to the overlook they'd been on. Akechi has more than enough time to flee, or even leisurely walk away.]
murderingjustice: ~antibiotical (15)

[personal profile] murderingjustice 2023-04-27 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
[Honestly? Fleeing doesn't even come across his mind as he's still riding high on his little victory over here. He's sure Akira will try to get back at him but that just makes it even more tempting to stay.

So, turning around to mimic Akira's previous position while leaning on the rail he waits. And when Akira makes his return he only waves at him.

C'mon, bring it on.]

Had a good walk?

[He says absolutely nothing, just stalking up to him with an impassive look and reeling his right arm back to punch him square in the jaw.]
murderingjustice: ~rosebursts (36)

[personal profile] murderingjustice 2023-04-27 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
[---!!!

This he did not see coming!

The punch itself is something that Akechi is able to dodge. Just a quick step to the side to avoid his fist, grab his arm into a lock and twist it behind his back etcetc... Or at least that's what he'd normally do but now he has still enough alcohol buzzing in his brains that make him react too slow, causing Akira's fist to land right on the target.

Head turning to the side, Akechi stumbles back -- almost falling over the railing himself. He brings his hand to cover his jaw as he turns to look at Akira. At first there's a shock in his eyes, a pure bafflement. But it's short-lived and replaced with anger

Fuck you, Akira Kurusu!

Taking support from the rail, Akechi lunges forward all ready to return the favor and aiming a solid punch at Akira's face.]
chemex: (0127-2)

[personal profile] chemex 2023-04-27 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
[Akira has the advantage, this time, and he fucking knows it, because Akechi would have dodged that punch if he weren't still drunk. So he sidesteps Akechi's return swing, grabbing his wrist and pulling.]

Why can't you just let me give a fuck, Akechi? Why does it always have to be a fucking fight? [Oh. Oh he's pissed.]
