The residual miasma she gives off has increased with her poor mood, so the self-imposed banishment makes sense to not mess with the still-glitching city. However, the training grounds has pulled her out from the shadows with all its commotion. Curiosity killed the cat...but she can bring it back as a bakeneko, so what's the harm?
