[ the problem with being a superhuman soldier meeting a girl who's blind is that he doesn't make much, if any, noise to alert to his presence, and he doesn't always realize it. he's trying to be conscious of it as he waits for her in the spot they'd agreed on, though, making an effort to be less eerily and unnaturally still. it's surprisingly difficult.
he's adjusting his bracers when he spots her approach, as if he hadn't already perfectly tightened them when he'd put them on earlier, and straightens his already ramrod straight spine to track her progress toward him. ]
Toph, good afternoon, [ he greets once she's close enough, polite and formal as ever. he's also trying very hard to keep in mind what she'd said about relaxing, but he's not really sure how best to accomplish that. should he pick up some of the verbal tics of the people around him? slouch more? fidget? it's all so much to try to keep in mind. ]
[ It's cute that he's trying to be considerate, or Toph would think so if she knew it. She doesn't need sound to know someone's there and she'd be eager to prove otherwise.
They meet a bit of a distance into the woods that surround Aldrip, where Toph's carved out a wide practice arena of packed earth. Stone bleachers sit on either side in case there's ever an audience. It's a well-used bit of space, boulders and firearms shell casings scattered throughout.
Toph strides out of the tree line with her characteristic unfaltering confidence, making a direct line toward Sephiroth. ]
Hey, Sephy. You ready to wreck this place? [ She grins, obviously eager and completely oblivious to his attempts to be more casual as she'd instructed. ] Don't worry, I can fix any damage you do.
TOPH, earthbending
