Woods Mingle [Open]

Who: anyone with reason to be in the woods
Where: the woods, mostly
What: wilderness mingle
Warnings: please mark threads accordingly.

Is your character a loner or reclusive type? Do they like to return to nature to recharge? Would they be in the woods after the gnosia event recovering from trauma? Maybe they just live out here. Then this is the place for you. I'm not doing prompts, this isn't a party anyone is throwing and no one was invited. We all know what the woods are like, trees, wild animals, weird rituals, construction? Maybe, don't worry about that last one.

If your character has a reason to be in the woods and you want to use that to expand on CR, get them in here! Feel free to get creative and find a reason if your character doesn't typically hang out in the woods. I just figure a bunch of characters are known for lurking in the wilderness, and it seems likely that the area might be a bit more crowded with everyone recovering after the gnosia event.

o1. BONFIRE

Experimentation on what the limits of his fire abilities are, of course, has to happen reasonably far out in to the forest. Considering that Hiei spends most of his time out in the trees when he isn’t dragged here or there by the others from his world, he’s had some time to experiment. In the wake of the Genosha events and Yusuke’s death, he’s found it even more pertinent to test his limits.

… And possibly burn entire sections of forest with the aura of his mortal flame, too, but he wouldn’t see the problem with that.

A waft of sharp heat will be the first hint to anyone drawing close that there is more out here than just nature. That and the dull, sooty smell of slowly burning wet grass and leaves. Hiei stands in a small clearing, utilizing as much demon energy as he can possibly force out of himself to see just how hot he can make things around him, just how hot he can burn. Anyone who strays too close may find it too hot to proceed, though the fire demon is unperturbed in his little bubble of heat and flames, testing his control and ability, just how much he can draw before reaching a block.

His focus is intense enough that it may take him a moment to notice anyone else, though he will drop his intensity when he spots a visitor.

o2. SWORD FORMS

Early bird getting the worm, huh?

Hiei is up with the birds for his sword form training, moving across the clearing he’s chosen for the morning with deliberate speed, zipping from one side to another. For those more spiritually trained they may be able to follow him, and for those who are not, it may look as though he is appearing and disappearing without explanation.

At times the little demon will stop to practice a certain swipe or complicated spinning of his sword at a slower pace, contemplating what he ought to practice next as the blade whooshes through the air. Sword forms precede his more physical training, but it doesn’t mean that the little demon hasn’t already lost his shirt in the process of it all.

Test your mettle at your peril. (Not really, but Hiei will sure make it seem like he won’t pull punches… or swords.)

o3. BREAK

Even Hiei takes breaks.

In the middle of a scorched clearing with a few broken and cut down before their proper time by his sword, even. He has a carefully packed set of picnic foods, clearly made and packaged with a level of care that Hiei himself would not bother with when it came to food.
