Send in the Kurts [Open Catch-All]
Who: (Some version of) Kurt Wagner and you!
Where: Around Aldrip
What: An open catch-all for glitched versions of Kurt
Warnings: None currently, will updated if needed
A. A Young Priest [X-Men Apocalypse]
[Kurt is still the same age, but he's now looking a little different. Dressing with more of an 80s fashion, and instead of fur, he seems to straight-up have blue sin that has some symbols tattooed on here and there. He also generally has a bit more of a timid and nervous disposition, but he gets more caught up in having fun.
One can find him at the local arcade, playing a number of games. Sometimes playing one game with his hands and an adjacent game with his tail! Or he can be unleashing his dancing skills on a DDR-like game!
On top of that, he can generally be found wandering the streets. Sometimes tinkering with the watch-like image inducer that was left behind in the glitching. As he plays around with it, he may suddenly appear more muscular, or with a big head, or change to resemble some random generic person's appearance that was saved to the watch. Regardless, Kurt's delighted because this seems like the coolest thing ever!]
B. And an Old Priest [X-Men '97]
[After another glitch, Kurt is replaced by an adult version of himself. While he might look a little more intimidating, he's quick to greet others warmly!
He can be found teleporting around rooftops to patrol the city, or at the Club Building's gym, where he practices fencing with three swords (the third being held by his tail, of course). But the place he frequents most is the Church of Many Faiths. There, he can be found deep in prayer while holding onto a cross. At other points, he'll try to mingle with other worshipers, regardless of their faith. He might be a devout Catholic, but he respects and his curious about what teachings may be followed by others!]
C. Gone but not Furgotten [Depowered]
[One day, Kurt's back to normal. Except it's a different definition of normal. He's no longer blue and fuzzy... Now he's just a real, actual human being. He looks just like his hologram disguise, and now he's just a normal human teenager.
He really hopes it's temporary, because this has him feeling pretty empty inside. All he can do is try to remain calm and go about his day - he takes a walk around the arcade, stops by the arcade to play games and stuff like that. All the while, he may stumble and be unusually clumsy here and there. After all, it's tough to adjust to balance without a tail, and with his legs and hands being completely different! He may even be seen fascinated while staring at his own hand, watching all five fingers individually wiggle back and forth...!]
D. Wildcard
[Feel free to come up with an alternate prompt or hit me up for plotting! Other glitched variations could be possible on request and dealing with other glitched characters!]

[He gives an excited grin and teleports over to the machine. He wastes no time picking his character, a hulking green guy with red hair named Stinka.]
May the best mutant win!
no subject
He's still very happy to have his Kurt around, of course, but a part of him also misses the one that he's come to know. Really, it would just be best if both of them were here at the same time. Plus, it is nice to see his friend be out and the open like this, not worried about blending in.]
Yeah.
[There's something a little less cocky as he says that, but he soon picks his fighter-- some guy named Ben?? With black hair. Anyway, it's fine. It's time to mash.] So, what do you remember?
[He's not trying to distract him what do you mean.]
no subject
So he doesn't really give much thought to Scott's question and looks a little confused while starting the game. With button mashing as well!]
But I never played this game before. So I've got no memories of it?
no subject
[Oh, he somehow made his character shoot out that little ball of energy. Nice! Okay, maybe he wants to learn combos just so that he can learn how to do that attack over and over. That seems nice and fair.
But despite his concentration on the game, he's still listening, waiting to hear Kurt's answer.]
no subject
My memory's a little fuzzy before this afternoon. It's like trying to remember a dream. I remember faces of people I've seen... Some things I've done... Like I know I've seen you! Did we have brownies together sometime?
[Kurt's character eats that energy call. But then he hits a combo that makes him jump forward for a suplex!]
no subject
Self-control, totally.]
Yeah, we definitely did that. [...] The memory thing will go away after a while, so don't sweat it. [Scott smiles a little, trying to be reassuring to his friend.] Besides, you'll have me around.
[And hey!! His character is getting thrown!! Dang, he needs to step up his game, because he's almost defeated...]
no subject
Oh good! I'm glad there isn't something wrong with my brain. [He gives a sigh of relief.] I am glad you're around. I feel less lost with you here. [Then he mashes harder with his hands and tail.] But right now, it's almost like you're the one about to lose!
no subject
[Scott snorts, unable to stop himself from grinning again when he recalls Kurt's whole exclamation about having his brain frozen after trying out another American Classic at the mall. Hey, that should be his new goal. How many American things can he cram in an hour or whatever before he turns back to 'normal?' It'll be fun. They have to head to the diner after this, for sure. Milkshakes and hamburgers.
Plan made.
Although, he barely fights off the small embarrassed flush from forming across his face when Kurt tells him that he's glad to have him around. G-geez, dude. It's enough of a distraction that Scott's character in the game loses all of his HP, declaring Kurt as the winner.]
That totally doesn't count man. [He lightly elbows him in the side.]
no subject
And as he wins, his eyes widen in shock.].
I really won? Against the master? [He says with a genuine gasp. And then he looks back at Scott with a smile as he's ribbed.]
Oh, was that just a warm-up?
i think next tag, i'll change scott to evo!scott?
[Even if he was mildly irritated about losing, that feeling really doesn't last long. Hard to be upset when Kurt's having fun, not to mention that he's just a little more mature now. It's been a year since he was home, more than that really, and... yeah.
Of course, he has to talk some trash still, but it's definitely in good humor.]
And Kurt? Get ready to lose twice in a row.
sounds good! whenever you want!
[He's excited as he prepares himself for the next match. Even if it was just a warm up, it feels really good to be a match for the king of games.]
Why do that when I can get ready to win again? I hope!
no subject
Why is he standing in front of a fighting game? As the glitching around Scott's form dissipates, the confused teen soon looks over at Kurt, taking in the other's appearance and wait, where is his disguise?]
...Kurt?
[There's confusion from Scott-- at least someone that really looks like Scott. Yes, he's dressed in a manner that's pretty different from his normal outfit, but those shades are similar enough, with those ruby quartz glinting from the lights from the arcade.
Still, that confusion is still knotting his face, eyebrows furrowing as he pays little attention to the game in front of him.]
What happened to your image inducer? [They're in public man!]
no subject
But then Scott speaks to him, and he looks back at him, confused.]
Huh? My image inducer? [He did find a funny holograph watch earlier, but he didn't realize what it was really for. Kurt just looks at Scott, befuddled, on several levels. Both because of what Scott said, and-]
Did you change?
[He could have sworn he was just dressed differently. And maybe looked slightly differently? While Kurt himself has blue skin with markings instead of fur, and has a bit more of an accent than one might expect, as he did when first arriving at the mansion.]
no subject
[Scott trails off slightly as he really takes in Kurt's appearance. Not to mention the question being asked of him. He didn't change, he's pretty sure about that? As if to double check, Scott looks down at himself, turning his body slightly as if to double check he didn't suddenly sprout a tail or some other appendage.
Look, he already has one mutation, he really doesn't want to suddenly get another. Not unless he can actually control it.
But yeah, he feels and looks normal. It's Kurt that looks different. He's not as... fuzzy. Scott can't stop himself from frowning, a more serious look crossing his face and it's clear he doesn't care all too much about the game in front of them anymore. He almost wants to state that it's an imposter in front of him, but Mystique wouldn't make a mistake like this.]
Your watch. Do you still have it on you? [He's a little more on edge, clearly worried, but also wanting to get to the bottom of this.]
no subject
[He says slowly in a befuddled manner before pulling the image inducer out from his pocket. And he holds it out to Scott.]
You want to use it?
[He's guessing that's why Scott is asking about it. He did have some fun playing around with it earlier!]
no subject
Not me, but for you.
[He first takes the image inducer from Kurt, but only so that he can start wrapping it around his friend's wrist.
Because it's important that they keep themselves on the down low, at least, that's what the Professor has told him and the others. Does he think it unfair? Yeah, especially if he wants to use his powers to help people around them. Because what's the point of having any of their mutations if they can't do good?? But he doesn't want to disappoint his adoptive father either; Scott is sure that he knows what's best.
Humans aren't ready for them. Not yet.]
You know what the Professor said... we have to keep ourselves hidden for now. [With that, he hits a button so that Kurt's appearance can adopt a more 'human' looking like one.]
no subject
He can't be himself? He has to wear a disguise.]
...O-oh. Sorry, I- I must have missed that lesson. [He rubs at his head uncertainly. But it's Scott, so he does trust that he's right, even looking differently.]
I thought that it was okay. For us to be okay out there. Things seemed fine at the mall!
no subject
Plus, there's the whole weird thing with Kurt's memory right now... not to mention his changed appearance. But no matter what, he's still his best friend. The others would expect him to step up at a time like this and so he will, but it's more than just being the leader and stuff. Kurt really matters to him.
As if to reassure the other mutant, Scott tosses an arm around his shoulders, doing his best to support him.]
Hey, no worries, okay? I don't think anyone really saw us and I always got your back. [They would've figured things out one way or another.]
no subject
[He looks at him with a confused smile. He really doesn't get this at all, and it does hurt to hide like this after he felt so fine being himself back at home and over here. Still, Scott's comforting words help. Scott has his back!
And in that moment, something else shifts. A glitching effect overcomes Kurt, and now he looks like himself again! Or at least, his normal holographic disguise. Kurt gives a confused blink.]
Wh-what just happened? [He can't help but notice that Scott's right there, and looking a lot more... familiar?] Scott?
no subject
Kurt...?
[At first, Scott was willing to blame the holodevice for glitching and making Kurt's disguise change so suddenly. It's a reasonable explanation, but his friend sounds confused once more. Like he's surprised that Scott's standing with him like this.] Yeah, I'm still here. You're okay, right? You sort of flickered for a moment.
[He keeps his arm around Kurt's shoulders though. It's what a best friend does!!]
no subject
Y-yeah. I'm fine! I feel like... me. Me, myself and I! Just, a little confused. What just...
[He looks more at Scott, down to the clothes he wears.]
Dude, are you - are you my Scott?
no subject
Know anyone else with these shades man?
[He asks, semi jokingly, but also, there's a seriousness to him as well.] Kurt, are you really okay? You were acting pretty off just a few seconds ago.
no subject
I- I'm fine. For real! It's just, this might sound crazy, but I think we're just totally changing between us's! [He explains that quickly, probably not helping.] You're not Mr. 80s anymore right? That you's still cool too, but... I still missed you-you, man!
[With that, he tries to give him a straight-up hug!]
no subject
He's starting to understand what Kurt's talking about. He's pretty sure at least and a part of Scott wants to run a hand through his hair, because this is a new one for them! But he knows Kurt and he wouldn't joke about something like this.]
Whoa, hey the 80s?? I'm not that old.
[Scott jokes but oof that is a hug and look they're bros and as bros, he's gotta hug his friend back. He still wants to ask Kurt a bunch of things, but he's glad that he's here for him. Mutants stick together and everything.]
no subject
Exactly! The other you was like the same age as you but from the 80s! It's totally wild, man. Like something out of scifi!
[Kurt squeezes him for a moment and then pulls back. It definitely seems like his Scott! But he thinks of one more final confirmation.]
So you and Jean... [He makes some kissing noises as the end of that question.]
